TheCGBros Presents "BIG BOOM" - A film that explores the questions of existence through the eye of a lonely service robot. It was definitely inspired by things like Wall-E and Fallout 4, however Big Boom has it"s own unique voice as well. Perhaps a bit bleaker than it"s influences (or optimistic depending on how you interpret the ending).
Lucky Drifter Productions
Brian Watson - Writer, Director, Editor, Composer, 3D Artist
Dante White Aliano as Jimbo, Bob, Chuzz, Mr. Dumpotron, Bugsy
Madeline Wager as A.D.A.
It was completed almost entirely within UE4, with some fine-tuning in Premiere. A small team of 6 people was in the production. With the exception of the voice acting and some of the natural elements, Brian Watson was responsible for the entire production

In case no one understands what happened, all humans had died in a clear Nuclear and Radioactive War. Which is why Gimbo or Jimbo, asked A. D. A. why is the sky green? Because of the pollution. The bug pole was a reference to how bugs can survive longer in radioactive weather than humans. Sad but a try situation that seems like is coming more true and reality every day.
The name of this short film is "BIG BOOM" so it should be totally obvious what happened to the humans. Nuclear war broke out, and everyone died, went into shelters, or are hiding. The green sky is radioactive fallout, irradiating the atmosphere.
the animation was brilliant. the whole redneck 'i have an iq of 48' accent for "jimbo" was just fecken nails-on-the-chalkboard irritating. couldn't stand to watch any more than 3 1/2 minutes because of it.
A classic cliff hanger that gets people thinking!
Like the original The Time Machine, what 3 books did he take with him?
5 million years to Earth, what were the grasshopper creatures and the devil figure?
Silent Running, did robots Heuy and Duey save the remaking forest adrift in deep space?
Many more like it.
Jimbo sounds like sling blade,"I sure do love them fried taters, hmmm-hmmm."
I don't get what the deal was with the other robot that answered when A.D.A. tried to call Bob for Jimbo. That dude was a hater. I bet Jimbo is gonna bang on Bob like the humping robot from Robot Chicken.
"Big Boom had said his goodbyes to the "operating on emergency power" robots. The road petered off in the distance in either direction. With the time left in his system, it was time to explore what lay far from the station. The only question to be answered: which way to go, and would Bob be there? Big Boom made his decision and rolled onto the apparently endless road..."
Men and women have at their disposal an array of resources for generating greater knowledge of truth so that their lives may be ever more human. Among these is philosophy, which is directly concerned with asking the question of lifes meaning and sketching an answer to it. Philosophy emerges, then, as one of noblest of human tasks. According to its Greek etymology, the term philosophy means "love of wisdom". Born and nurtured when the human being first asked questions about the reason for things and their purpose, philosophy shows in different modes and forms that the desire for truth is part of human nature itself. It is an innate property of human reason to ask why things are as they are, even though the answers which gradually emerge are set within a horizon which reveals how the different human cultures are complementary.
Philosophys powerful influence on the formation and development of the cultures of the West should not obscure the influence it has also had upon the ways of understanding existence found in the East. Every people has its own native and seminal wisdom which, as a true cultural treasure, tends to find voice and develop in forms which are genuinely philosophical. One example of this is the basic form of philosophical knowledge which is evident to this day in the postulates which inspire national and international legal systems in regulating the life of society.
Nonetheless, it is true that a single term conceals a variety of meanings. Hence the need for a preliminary clarification. Driven by the desire to discover the ultimate truth of existence, human beings seek to acquire those universal elements of knowledge which enable them to understand themselves better and to advance in their own self-realization. These fundamental elements of knowledge spring from the wonder awakened in them by the contemplation of creation: human beings are astonished to discover themselves as part of the world, in a relationship with others like them, all sharing a common destiny. Here begins, then, the journey which will lead them to discover ever new frontiers of knowledge. Without wonder, men and women would lapse into deadening routine and little by little would become incapable of a life which is genuinely personal.
