1730 ratings | 143009 views
Highlights from our 2014 cycle ride around the world. Watch our adventure by bicycle unfold over the course of 234 days on the road as we travel across the world from London to Miami. We had never done any cycle touring before, we just learnt as we travelled. Hope you enjoy it... More about me here: https://wjafrazer.wordpress.com/about/

But how to leave everything and do this? Where would I live by winter, where would i get the money from if i am not working?
Shady Janzeir (12 days ago)
When you say "on a bicycle," is it because you're worried that some viewers might have doubts as to what it is you were "cycling" on?
Pedal Power Touring (20 days ago)
Cheers fellas! I know this is an older video, but it just popped up in our feed today. Good stuff cycling the world, but what was your rush? We spent nearly 2 years cycling about and you guys did it in 234 days! Dang that is like race pace!! Any plans on future long distance touring? I know when we returned home, we had our sights on Alaska to Argentina within 3-5 years. We are approaching the 4 year point after returning home and although we still talk about the Alaska to Argentina ride, it doesn't seem to be as much of a burning desire as it once was. Anyway... maybe we'll find our mojo again and hit the road for another long distance adventure. ~Ron

Fair play although 2 fit guys cycling is not the same league as the British woman that ran the world aged 60 !

I never heard Iohan Gueorguiev complain. Never, not even once! And he does most of his ridding off road, on uncharted paths. From the the frozen Arctic Circle to the top of the Andes. Never once did he complain! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqiYX6cqxQI9CqhH_kvHeOw

Most of it looks fucking awful. No wonder the entire population of the planet wants to come to England. Think I'll just stay here. And by the way, fuck the rhinos.!

Does anyone discus security concerns or routing? It looks like you guys were sharing the road with some trucks on some pretty sketchy roads. Id like some tkps on how to avoid that, if youre willing to share

hey guys, I just watched the whole series of your trip, epic journey! You did really well to keep your motivation and spirits up. Would be interested to hear more on the planning and logistics, I´ve done plenty of touring myself around UK and Europe but a RTW trip has eluded me so far due to time & financial constraints. You have the makings of a decent book here I reckon :) good job

Definitely inspiring. I looked through the comments to see if I could find your route but I don't see one. Do you have a map of the route you took? Most curious because you were in Europe, China and out of nowhere, Miami. Great watch though. I feel like planning out a trip now with my buddy now.

Epic! well done
I am a cycle tourist as well... I have to say that it gets very addicting. Day after day cycling, even during the bad days, you just want to keep going.
Vuonoveikko (2 years ago)
I like that oneohtrix tune in there!
nobby styles (2 years ago)
these are gettin lame as fuck.... cycle tours have basically become pop videos. come on for fuck sake i dont want to listen to a load of shit music i just want to hear how it worked out. every fucker sound tracks their vids like theyre trying to project some kind of hollywood bullshit. at least if youre using the vast world of music make it fuckin count eh.
OnAJourney (1 year ago)
Most of my cycling vids don't have music, but why watch their videos all the way through if you can't stand the music?
TrentRidley (2 years ago)
There are 19 previous videos documenting each stage of their trip which include almost no music. It's just the two guys riding, their interactions with one another, their interactions with the people they met, the places they saw and stayed, the things they ate, equipment they used, adversities they faced, etc. Watch those and you'll see that your criticism of this, a summary of those 19 other videos (hence the montage and music), is poorly directed.

Love the video man. I'm thinking about doing something similar, what was your rough route? Any roads that are must ride and any that are must avoid? What would you give as an estimate of total cost excluding gear?

Chapeau! Kudos!..Thoroughly enjoyed watching all your videos. Interested to know if you went back to the ordinary rat race '9-5' when you both got home? Or did this open a few other doors?
William Frazer (3 years ago)
+Adrian Simms Thanks Adrian. Unfortunately we're both back in the rat race in London. Kind of necessary though as need the money. Not sure how long we'll last before doing something else though!

Just started watching these videos. Really fantastic stuff. What bikes did you use and were you mixing camping and staying in motels?
William Frazer (3 years ago)
Customised Pearson 'I may be some time'. Trip was about 60% camping, the rest in motels or staying with people. Hope that helps
Henrik Rónai (3 years ago)
Was it worth it? I mean quitting job, leaving friends, family, financial security and everything behind. I'm 20 at the moment but I'm planning to do a ~1000 km bike trip first (Budapest-Krakow and back, through the Hight Tatras) but after that I might actually go on a longer trip as well. Would you recommend against it?
福永茜 (2 months ago)
Start it slow, take a long trip from your job, like 2 weeks tops.Quit it at the age 35 ish, so you got nothing to lose/nothing to worry about
Grim Reaper (1 year ago)
my e-bike already has 1333km on the odometer, 1000km is not far.
KurDt CObain89 (1 year ago)
Henrik Rónai I literally want to go touring at the age of 18 to Houston I live in texas and I live in the southwest and I want to do it. Leave home and head for my dreams however going around the world is crazy. I rather do it only in the u.s
Henrik Rónai (2 years ago)
I eventually opted for hitchhiking and funnily enough I hh'ed with someone who saw my comment here, then we met up in real life and went on a hh trip across Europe (~5000 km). Luckily we got and still get along very well, we became good friends. I'm currently planning a motorcycle trip which would take up most of this summer :) wish me luck.
