In 1998, Americans were divided over Bill Clinton's affair with a White House intern. In the 20 years since, those feelings have only grown more complicated.

The Monica Lewinsky Scandal: A Visual Timeline Of The Events 20 Years Later | TIME
Monica Lewinsky is just an opportunist... and its infuriating! As an ADULT, fully aware - including the fact that she was messing with a married man - she CHOSE to engage in a sexual relationship with Clinton! HER decision!! Then, years later, she tries to take advantage of that situation by trying to hang her flag with a legitimate, meaningful movement, #MeToo, in order to glean attention again. She is utterly DESPICABLE and without conscience. DETESTABLE and UNRESPECTABLE!! 👎🏻🤬🤮👎🏻
He clearly is a perv, and Hillary is just a power hungry side bitch. She doesn’t care about her husband’s victims, she doesn’t care about American people, or justice. All she wants is the power and money from rich donors. This is how females sociopath looks like. Just a perfect example
It’s truly crazy to see how the Republican Party put themselves on such a moral high ground for clinton’s scandal. But now our president, Trump has done seriously way worse than this and more and the republicans turn a blind eye. It’s gross
Bill Clinton: Innocent until proven guilty despite media's efforts to ignore the women and evidence.
Kavanagh: Guilty until proven innocent despite media's best efforts to make him out to be a gang rapist. Riding on the #Metoo movement to get people to think emotionally versus logically and ignore Due Process.
As an outsider, as a brown guy, I have to say Trump is looking way better than the past Democrat presidents of the USA who solely waged wars on false basis, sexually abused women, lied to the public for years. Atleast, Trump pays for the sex and everyone knows when he is lying or doesn't know better and doesn't wage false wars and tells it like it is (aka, Saudi money deal being more important than a journalist's life).
Republicans only wanted Bill Clinton out of office because he was doing such a good job. Everyone's paycheck was increasing, he solved the problems that George HW Bush left him and was so popular....even better than Obama when it came to economic factors(DADT, DMA and crime bill sucks). Him fucking Monica was okay because it was consensual and was his prerogative to not tell the American people who he was fucking. I'm so sick of "Christian" Conservatives saying shit like "Liberals need to stop asking what happens in Trump's bedroom" when they clearly want to know every damn thing that Bill Clinton is doing(same thing with homosexuals). Hypocritical fucks. This impeachment trial was nothing more than a failed coup d'teat.
Raphaël D here is one
“In 1992, Gennifer Flowers stated that she had a relationship with Clinton that began in 1980. Flowers at first denied that she had an affair with Clinton, but later changed her story. After Clinton at first denied having a relationship with Flowers on 60 Minutes, he later admitted that he had a sexual encounter with Flowers.”
So the first thing Hillary did was call it a 'right wing conspiracy theory'. A tactic the republican party today grabs at every chance it gets...What a dangerous precedent those two have set for today's political climate.
+ding dong The emails...? She should be in jail right now cause of that. She threatened the security of the country for reasons we still don't know. What Bill did was wrong no doubt about it, I'm just saying they're both cheaters.
+Nikola GOATic what did she do? It doesn't matter what she did bill should not have cheated simple as that cheating is disgusting ignore everything she did it's about the cheating
If my kid breaks something am I going to starve him or hit him? No they broke something that's it everyone does things
WOW! This is the first time I am ever even seeing video of the impeachment proceedings. I
thought it was down the rabbit hole it went. Quite the contrast with the way Watergate is
handled by the media.
+The Other Side - Nope. The use of the term "video' might have a different meaning from someone older who is used to watching t.v. with their rabbit ears. When I think of video I think of VHS tapes. In contrast, here we have yet another movie about watergate. That was the point I was making.
Jessica N did I strike a chord, perhaps an-age sensitive one? Younger and older men would love to have younger women. Helen of Troy was not a cougar, you might want to think about that Jessica. As a woman, either you age well, or you get traded in. Take your pick.
+Beth Ní Dhúbhghaill I didnt vote Trump. I didnt vote at all. And i am glad. Clintons' are the lowest political scum in the country and a blot on democrats. Bernie would be a sure winner against the orange monster, but no, clintons had to ruin it.
The Democrat controlled senate aquits Clinton even though he admits lying under oath, and worse lied to the American public! Need one say more? The deep state, the deep throat, and the american people in deep shit!
+Tyler McQuien "let's look at the rates that Bill Clinton has been accused of the many many rapes that he's been accused of prior to him even becoming Governor." whose stupid ? hey stupid , did he lose his law lic. for the unproven allegations or not being truthfull about having grown up sex ?
It's ironic watching this now since the Kavanaugh situation. I remember how the women who accused Clinton of sexual assualt were villianized. He was assumed innocent. 20 years later we have not come a long way baby. The pendulum has just swung in the opposite direction. Hopefully it will not take another 20 years for us to find some middle ground.
+Sausage Cream If I was sexually abused, I would want justice done, just like Terry Crews when he was sexually abused. I don't think PTSD would prevent anyone from wanting their abuser to be tried and convicted. In fact, it would make their family and friends even more infuriated to have them condemned!
Also, there is no way Kavanaugh's accusers could have proved that he sexually abused her. There's no evidence and no trustworthy witnesses because this happened more than 30 years ago! What if a friend of yours in high school 30 years ago was suddenly accused by a woman that he raped her. You know that your friend is not that type of guy and wasn't in high school. Furthermore, she has no evidence! Her accusation would be dismissed after a quick trial, if the jury and judge are unbiased.
This is not the case with Judge Kavanaugh because this is politics we're dealing with! I believe Tom Robinson from To Kill a Mockingbird and Jeff Kavanaugh are in the same boat as being casualties of a prejudiced justice system when it comes to sexual abuse; in the case of Tom Robinson, race, and in the case of Kavanaugh, being a man in politics. Both shouldn't have come close to being convicted knowing the kind of people they are and with zero evidence against them, but due to people's prejudices against them, they did, and ultimately Tom Robinson died from that case. Let this listen not be wasted.
+Abhishek Krishnan No it isn't. Our wages are stagnant and job growth is only due to an upward curve set by Obama. we're far from a livable minimum wage, millions cannot afford health insurance, he has set a dangerous social precedent since day one and continues to do so, he is now targeting the LGBT community and trying to strip trans rights. The only thing he has done remotely correct is make sure he didn't destroy the job growth that was set years ago during Obama's term. Just because more people have jobs now doesnt mean they're good jobs with acceptable wages.
The whole thing was a mess in my humble opinion.
Young intern spending some unchecked time in close proximity with the president, by then a known cheater and womanizer - well, what do you want? If sexual chemistry is there, it's bound to happen, isn't it?
She was young, so she can claim that she was very naive and wasn't aware of the potential repercussions of the whole thing.
Bill, well, Bill was Bill (which doesn't make him an angel - the guy was married and had a young daughter - what was he thinking?).
Yet what makes it more strange was Hillary Clinton's reaction to the whole thing. She always defended her husband in public, yet I would dare people to find any footage of genuine public tenderness between Bill and Hillary after he became president.
Why didn't she file for divorce once it became clear that he did indeed cheated on her (and perhaps not for the first time)? Perhaps because she had political ambitions of her own and being a divorced woman would constitute a campaign liability (I'm just running my keyboard here).
The whole thing was a mess and the fact that the media demonized Monica Lewinsky and sort of gave Hillary Clinton a free pass was disgusting.
And we all have to remember that Congress voted to impeach Clinton, who was later saved by the Senate.
His tryst with an intern had serious repercussions - Bill Clinton wasn't able to support Al Gore during Gore's presidential campaign, which might be a factor on George Bush being elected (close election - votes having to be recounted and all that mess).
Men and women have at their disposal an array of resources for generating greater knowledge of truth so that their lives may be ever more human. Among these is philosophy, which is directly concerned with asking the question of lifes meaning and sketching an answer to it. Philosophy emerges, then, as one of noblest of human tasks. According to its Greek etymology, the term philosophy means "love of wisdom". Born and nurtured when the human being first asked questions about the reason for things and their purpose, philosophy shows in different modes and forms that the desire for truth is part of human nature itself. It is an innate property of human reason to ask why things are as they are, even though the answers which gradually emerge are set within a horizon which reveals how the different human cultures are complementary.
Philosophys powerful influence on the formation and development of the cultures of the West should not obscure the influence it has also had upon the ways of understanding existence found in the East. Every people has its own native and seminal wisdom which, as a true cultural treasure, tends to find voice and develop in forms which are genuinely philosophical. One example of this is the basic form of philosophical knowledge which is evident to this day in the postulates which inspire national and international legal systems in regulating the life of society.
Nonetheless, it is true that a single term conceals a variety of meanings. Hence the need for a preliminary clarification. Driven by the desire to discover the ultimate truth of existence, human beings seek to acquire those universal elements of knowledge which enable them to understand themselves better and to advance in their own self-realization. These fundamental elements of knowledge spring from the wonder awakened in them by the contemplation of creation: human beings are astonished to discover themselves as part of the world, in a relationship with others like them, all sharing a common destiny. Here begins, then, the journey which will lead them to discover ever new frontiers of knowledge. Without wonder, men and women would lapse into deadening routine and little by little would become incapable of a life which is genuinely personal.
