According to the United Nations World Population Prospects, men slightly outnumber women in world population at 50.4% compared to 49.6% for the female. Take a look at the list of 10 countries with highest male population. In the past, women were considered mostly docile and withdrawn. With these figures, we can see the big picture and have a new perspective in realizing once again the social significance of the female population.

Japan officially is a country having a large population of virgins both men and women. Around 42 percent of men and 44.2 percent of women have admitted that they are virgins. According to the Japan Times, a new survey of Japanese people ages 18 to 34 found that 70 percent of unmarried men and 60 percent of unmarried women are not in a relationship. This study is carried out by Japan's National Institute of Population and Social Security Research every five years. Japan's demographic challenges are well-known. It's home to the world's oldest population and and also home to an astonishing number of single people. Despite government efforts to incentivize marriage and child-rearing, things aren't quite trending in the right direction. India is the world's top sterilizer of women. From 2013 to 2014, over 4 million Indian women had the surgery, making it the most popular form of birth control. At 1.3 billion people, India is projected to overtake China's population around 2028. India's solution is free sterilizations for men and women. The procedures aren't always safe. Patients describe filthy conditions and hasty surgeries. Sometimes women are paid to get sterilized or offered incentives like "cars, gold coins and drawings for prizes." In November 2014, 15 women died at two state-run "sterilization camps." Between 2003 and 2012, a total of 1,434 people died. Most were women. Only 1 percent of men undergo vasectomies because male sterilization isn't socially acceptable. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged to improve India's health system. This year family planning centers will begin offering free injectible contraceptives. This video includes clips from News 7 and images from Getty Images. MaximsNewsNetwork: 18 November 2009 - UNFPA: A United Nations report urges policymakers to heed the role of women - who make up the majority of the poor - in combating climate change. Climate change strikes it fiercest blow against the poorest, most vulnerable people around the world, according to a United Nations (U.N.) report launched today in London, urging policymakers to heed the role of women who make up the majority of the poor in combating climate change. Poor women in poor countries are among the hardest hit by climate change, even though they contributed the least to it, said UNFPA Executive Director Thoraya Ahmed Obaid at the launch in the Royal Society of London headquarters. The U.N. Population Fund (UNFPA) report warned that the poor depend more on agriculture for their livelihoods, risking hunger and loss of income when droughts strike, rains become unpredictable and hurricanes move with unprecedented force. The poor also tend to live in marginal areas, vulnerable to floods, rising seas and storms, noted The State of World Population 2009 UNFPA report, stressing that women bear the disproportionate burden of climate change as they make up the majority of the worlds 1.5 billion people living on less than one dollar a day. The report contended that the international communitys fight against climate change would be more successful if policies, programs and treaties consider the needs, rights and potential of women. It spotlighted studies showing women are more likely than men to die in natural disasters, with the gender mortality gap most pronounced where incomes are low and status differences between men and women are high. The UNFPA report also demonstrated that investment in women and girls particularly in education and health boosts economic development, reduces poverty and benefits the environment. It said that girls with more education tend to have smaller and healthier families as adults because access to reproductive health services including family planning results in lower fertility rates that contribute to slower growth in greenhouse-gas emissions in the long run. MaximsNewsNetwork: 18 November 2009 - UNFPA: The latest edition of the State of World Population report by the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) shows that women bear the disproportionate burden of climate change, but have been largely overlooked in the debate on how to address problems of rising seas, droughts, melting glaciers and extreme weather. The report will be launched Wednesday 18 November in London. The 2009 edition of the State of World Population report, to be launched on 18 November 2009 by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), shows that women bear the disproportionate burden of climate change, but have so far been largely overlooked in the debate about how to address problems of rising seas, droughts, melting glaciers and extreme weather. Poor women in poor countries are among the hardest hit by climate change, even though they contributed the least to it, according to UNFPA Executive Director Thoraya Ahmed Obaid. The poor are especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change, and the majority of the 1.5 billion people living on $1 a day or less are women. The poor are more likely to depend on agriculture for a living and therefore risk going hungry or losing their livelihoods when droughts strike, rains become unpredictable and hurricanes move with unprecedented force. The poor tend to live in marginal areas, vulnerable to floods, rising seas and storms. Research cited in the report shows that women are more likely than men to die in natural disasters—including those related to extreme weather—with this gap most pronounced where incomes are low and status differences between men and women are high. The State of World Population 2009 argues that the international communitys fight against climate change is more likely to be successful if policies, programmes and treaties take into account the needs, rights and potential of women. In South America, many Bolivians are victims of a warming planet. High up in the Andes mountains...a disaster is in the making as many of the glaciers are melting at rates surprising even the experts. At risk are tens of thousands of people who rely on the water as a source of life The Caribbean is no stranger to hurricanes, but the frequency and force of these storms have increased over the past few years. 2008 was a particularly devastating year for countries like Cuba and Haiti. Vietnam's economy is finally thriving after decades of war. But a new and insidious enemy - global warming- is hitting this southeast Asian country, with deadly force. Subscribe to France 24 now: http://f24.my/youtubeEN FRANCE 24 live news stream: all the latest news 24/7 http://f24.my/YTliveEN In China, the one-child policy has wreaked havoc. By encouraging the birth of boys rather than girls, an imbalance of the sexes has emerged. China now counts far more men than women. Millions of these men, now of marriageable age, are desperately seeking a wife - and they will do anything to try to find one, even if it means buying one abroad or even kidnapping a woman. Marjolaine Grappe and Christophe Barreyre tell us more in this documentary. The Chinese call them "Guang gun", "dead branches" which will never bear fruit. In short, men condemned to a life without a wife, without children, and without the hope of one day starting a family. In China, there are already millions of these bachelors in search of a soulmate and their ranks are swelling. Ten years ago, there was talk of the "curse of being born a girl". As a result of the one-child policy – in force until 2015 - millions of little girls were killed before they were born or just afterwards. Sometimes they were abandoned shortly after their birth. Most families preferred to give birth to a boy, so that he could carry on the family line. ►► Also watch our report: "China's second child flop" It turned out to be a demographic time bomb. Today, the “curse” has backfired on these boys, who are now men. According to forecasts from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, one in five men will be unable to find a wife by 2020. China will have a surplus of 30 to 40 million men under the age of 19. That’s the equivalent of the entire population of young men in the United States. Trafficking of women In some regions, "single villages" have emerged. The few women who were there have left the area to look for a rich husband in town. So men who want a chance to get married have to move to other regions. Millions of young men flock to the south of the country and work day and night in the factories of the Pearl Delta, "the workshop of the world", while hoping to find a soulmate. But even here, women are in short supply. In desperation, some Chinese men prefer to run away or buy a woman abroad, often from Burma, Vietnam or Indonesia... Others give up. For some, anything goes, even if it means enlisting the help of traffickers and kidnapping a woman. We went to meet single men who are crushed by the mathematical impossibility of finding a spouse and prepared to do anything not to end up alone. They agreed to speak to us and to take us to the heart of this unlikely trafficking operation. A report by Marjolaine Grappe and Christophe Barreyre / Orientxpress Production. MaximsNewsNetwork: 20 October 2010 -- UNFPA: United Nations Population Fund: New York - Discrimination against women not only exposes them to the worst effects of disaster and war, including rape, but also deprives their countries of a prime engine for recovery, according to the 2010 State of the World Population report launched today (20 October); "This year's report is about the three Rs: resilience, renewal and redefining roles between boys and girls and men and women," head of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Thoraya Ahmed Obaid said at the official launch in London of the report. The report uses stories of individuals affected by conflict or catastrophe in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Haiti, Iraq, Jordan, Liberia, the occupied Palestinian territory, Timor-Leste and Uganda to bring home its message. It shows how communities and civil society are healing old wounds and moving forward, while stressing how much more still needs to be done to ensure that women have access to services and have a voice in peace deals or reconstruction plans. Obaid added that "when women and girls suffer deep discrimination, they are more vulnerable to the worst effects of disaster and war, including rape, and less likely to contribute to peacebuilding, which threatens long-term recovery." The case examples are the first time the annual study has been based on reports from the field to show how countries that have experienced conflict or disasters are on the road to recovery, however rocky the path and uncertain the destination. A principal recommendation in the report is that Governments need to seize the opportunities arising out of post-conflict or post-disaster recovery to increase the chances that countries "are not just rebuilt, but built back better and renewed, with women and men on equal footing, with rights and opportunities for all and a foundation for development and security in the long run." The release of the report "From Conflict and Crisis to Renewal: Generations of Change" coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Security Council's landmark resolution 1325, which aimed to end sexual violence against women and girls in armed conflict and to encourage greater participation by them in peace-building initiatives. ...... Despite having the world’s biggest population, China has revised its three-decade-old ‘One Child Policy’ in a bid to encourage couples to have more children. So what are the implications? Today there are 7.3 billion people living on our planet and overpopulation is thought to be a serious global issue. Rapid population growth has brought pressure on economic and social development. It’s well known that China has the world’s biggest population with 1.3 billion people - equivalent to the populations of North and South America, Australia, New Zealand and Western Europe combined. A big population may sound like a big problem, but in fact it can bring many advantages. A large workforce has helped China become one of the world’s biggest economies in just one generation. This has lifted 800 million people out of poverty and enabled China to build the largest education system in the world. But a big population also means greater pressure on resources. Finding the balance between population and resources is an issue that all governments face. China’s most famous population policy was ‘the one-child policy’. And China’s birth rate more than halved whilst the policy was in action. This means the growth of the population has slowed down – as expected - and the quality of life for people across China has risen. But China’s ‘one child policy’ also had unintended consequences. The size of its working age population is falling and around 15% of the population is now over retirement age. Most Chinese people rely heavily on their only child. There are now also more men than women in China and by 2020, there will be 30 million more men of marriageable age than women. In 2015, China revised the Population Law and encouraged couples to have two children. This could mean an extra 15 million babies born in the next 5 years.

Thanks to ultra-long sentences, America's 2.3m prisoners are getting older. Under the 'Gold coats' programme in California, younger inmates look after elderly ones Subscribe NOW to The Economist: http://econ.st/1Fsu2Vj Prisons are becoming America's biggest old people's homes. Now the country that locks up more people than anywhere else must deal with the consequences of a growing prison population. Growing old in prison is hard. Samuel Baxter is an inmate here at the California men's colony prison in San Luis Obispo almost everyday for the past four years Mr Baxter has helped elderly prisoners get dressed, eat, and get about prison. It is a confronting job. In America some 2.2 million people are behind bars, and the prisoners are getting older. The number of people over the age of 65 who were in prison has doubled since 2007. In fact, aging men and women are the most rapidly growing part of America's prison population. In part, this is the hangover effect of the 1980s and 90s when a perfect storm of high crime rates and tough sentencing laws caused prison populations to soar. Phillip Burdick is 64. He works alongside Mr Baxter in a program called the Gold Coats. The volunteer inmates who become Gold Coats are carefully screened and shadow an experienced volunteer sometimes for several months of training. Older prisoners often have special needs; some have problems with mobility, others dementia or mental health. Caring for the elderly behind bars presents unique challenges. Prisoners can have the physiological age of someone 10 to 15 years older. Glenn Crites has been in prison for 44 years, since he was 20 years old, for murder. He remembers catching another elderly prisoner, nicknamed Pops, staring at him. Pops had Alzheimer's. He was trying to remember who Mr Crites was. He didn't fight Pop's, but older inmates are more vulnerable than younger ones. Of the 1.6 million inmates in state and federal prisons, 1/10 are serving life sentences. Many politicians are now keen to reverse this mass incarceration but long timers seem unlikely to benefit. In California, a bid to reduce prison populations means less serious criminals now serve time in county jails or in the community. The inmates left behind tend to be the ones serving longer sentences. These are often the elderly. America spends about 16 billion dollars every year caring for older inmates. The gold coats program aims to allay some of those costs. Volunteers are paid a mere 36 dollars a month. A fraction of what outside help, like a nursing assistant, would cost the prison. Despite the challenges, the Gold Coats continue to help their aging counterparts. Mr Baxter has a particularly personal reason for wanting to do so; his mother had dementia. Mr Baxter is serving 35 years to life in prison for fatally shooting a man. He had his first parole hearing in March, but was turned down. He won't receive another review for at least five years and he has come to realize the Gold Coats may one day be caring for him. For the elderly men who are released after decades behind bars, there may no longer be any friends or family on the outside who can provide care. Not everyone here will be granted parole. Some of these men will die in prison. For those nearing the end of their lives Mr Burdick serves as a grief counselor in the prison hospice program. To listen to more of this exclusive interview proceed to http://www.veritasradio.com S y n o p s i s From the food we eat, the water we drink to the air we breathe, everything these days seems capable of killing us. Recently we have seen an unprecedented number of deaths due to medications for diseases that may not even exist, obscure cancers caused by our modern devices, and brutal police tactics. All a coincidence? Think again. In Population Control, acclaimed journalist Jim Marrs lays out a stunning case for his most audacious conspiracy yet: the scheme concocted by a handful of global elites to reduce the world's population to 500 million by whatever means necessary and make a profit from it. Marrs, the bestselling author of Rule by Secrecy and The Trillion Dollar Conspiracy, pulls no punches in exposing this evil and chillingly effective plan. He explains how a small group of tremendously wealthy and powerful people control virtually every important industry -- guns, oil, pharmaceuticals, food, and of course the media -- and how it uses this vast network of conglomerates to take actions that lead to the deaths of men and women all over the world. In the explosive Population Control, Marrs lays bare the damning truths corporate owners don't want you to discover: how they've spied on private citizens, intentionally spread disease, and destroyed the planet chasing profits, all to improve the lives of a privileged few while eliminating everyone else. Finally, he offers a citizen's blueprint for fighting back.

MGTOW is Population Control LOL MGTOW Mystery Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Df_gITDTGo Hi Everyone Sandman Here, This video is brought to you by a donation from Matt and here's what he very briefly has to say: "Hi Sandman, Congrats on the 100k. Don't worry about the video; was looking for more of a conversation, but I get it that you're super busy/backlogged. Keep up the good work." Well Matt thanks for the donation and I hope you enjoy the show. Recently I read a forum post by a man going his own way claiming that feminists were attacking MGTOW by saying that it was just an elaborate form of population control. This made me laugh out loud and I thought to myself there's a situation where the pot is calling the kettle black, not that MGTOW is about population control or anything directly. But feminism does far more to control the population than MGTOW yet MGTOW gets that label thrown it's way. I think when feminists say things like that they are trying to take the responsibility for falling birth rates away from themselves and put the blame on men instead. Women dumping agency on men, what a shocker. That's almost as shocking as finding a land whale sitting on a park bench with a bucket for fried chicken under one flipper and a tub of Hagendaz under the other. Feminism means birth rates have fallen thanks to birth control pills, abortions and women building their careers so long that they end up becoming completely barren. Yet you never hear anyone say falling birth rates are feminisms fault. Even though they cause multiple reasons. Instead lets all just blame those evil men for not wanting to bite the bullet and get married and have kids. Afterall it has to be men's problem, right? Another favorite arguement I get all time is well if every man because a MGTOW then there wouldn't be a next generation. What people are forgetting is the power of Chad. Eighty or ninety percent of women are content getting impregnated by the top ten percent of guys out there. Besides, it's not like there aren't many nice sperm banks out there. If anyone criticises us online just say that you're a sperm donor at your local sperm bank and women are welcome to use your demon seed baby jelly anytime they like. But that your cash and prizes aren't part of that deal. That's what this arguement that MGTOW is about population control is really about. It's about getting to men's resources by shaming us and trying to appeal to men's hero complex. Most men or boys while grow up dream of saving the world. But when you go your own way and most likely choose not to have kids in a way you're destroying the world or at least your genes in it. So you're telling a man that refuses to procreate that he's not only not a hero but he's a villain. So you're shaming his inner child. The child that wants to save the world. That's why it's such powerful shaming language and we hear it quite often. It's all about attacking a man's heroic sense of purpose. Most men have been raised to see their purpose in life as husband and provider and if a man steps out of those roles he's to be shamed. 10 images licensed and paid for through BigStock.com. You have probably noticed this, at least from the perspective of aesthetics. We talk about the so called Greek foot, where the second toe is longer than the big toe. This phenomenon can be seen among only 14% of the entire population on the planet. Even though some people consider it ugly and want it to disappear, the Greek foot is usually connected to strength, intelligence and sexiness. On the other hand, there are some circumstances that should be considered. A Greek foot can cause leg problems and pain if appropriate shoes are not worn. Remember that your legs are exposed to the entire body mass when you are walking or running, so the shape of your feet also influences what you will feel in your legs. People with a Greek foot often experience pain in the feet and that is something that cannot be ignored. The first thing that should be done is wearing the right shoes. In ideal circumstances, the feet have enough space and the toes are not cramped. The golden rule is: never wear shoes that cause pain. Special shoe pads can help you reduce the inflammation and pain in your feet. The shoes must be made of a soft material which helps your feet feel comfortable. If you have a Greek foot and you feel pain, visit a doctor so the foot can be analyzed. Don’t allow for further complications to appear.

For the first time, the number of women exceeds that of men in South Korea. According to figures released by the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, as of the end of June this year, about 25,715,800 females registered as South Korean residents, nearly 500 more than males, a first since the country's census records started in the late 1960s. A rapidly ageing population coupled with a higher life expectancy for women as well as the diminishing preference for sons over daughters are seen as attributing factors to the demographic change. In the future, women are expected to increasingly outnumber men due to a growing elderly population forecast for South Korea.

VO Laos celebrates World Population Day 2015. INTRO: The Lao government has progressed well in ensuring access to services and information on sexual and reproductive health for all women and girls at all times, but some girls still have limited access to this as well as other social services, even under normal circumstances. INTRO:Minister of Planning and Investment Somdy Duangdy highlighted the fact to celebrate World Population Day 2015. He said in Laos more than 60 percent of the population is under 25, which means this will create huge benefits in national development and construction. It depends on how much we will be able to build their capacity and invest in them so that they become a labour force in development. The Minister of Planning and Investment highlighted that the government has progressed in improving the lives of young people over the past ten years such as reducing the inequality gap in education between men and women, promoting jobs for them and creating better healthcare services and reproductive health. However Laos still faces issues, the social indicator survey found, such as having a high rate of teenage pregnancy, with four out of ten women pregnant or already having given birth to their first child by the age of 19. According to the recent Adolescent and Youth Situation Analysis report 2014, at least 30 percent of adolescents of secondary school age are not attending school at all and 23 percent of women who need to stop a pregnancy are unable to access family planning. Somdy Duangdy said, the timing is urgent because the government is in the final process of preparing the Eighth Five-Year Socio Economic Development Plan (2016-2020), so we must ensure the benefits of young people as this is part of preparations for development. Laos will be a full part of the AEC at the end of this year, which will open new opportunities for adolescent girls in development but in the meanwhile many young people especially out-of-school girls lack skills and will face the issue of being taken advantage of in terms of labour. The dignity protection of out-of-school adolescent girls in accessing vocational training or sexual and reproductive health is not only improving their livelihoods but is also reducing advantage being taken of them in terms of labour, infections, the HIV virus and teenage pregnancy. Minister of Planning and Investment Somdy Duangdy urged all relevant sectors at all levels to identify issues, gaps, strategies and channels to ensure the ‘dignity, safety, and reproductive health of all women and girls at all times', to reach out to vulnerable girls in remote and marginalised areas, as well as different ethnicities, with sexual and reproductive health information and services both in urban and rural areas. World Population Day is celebrated every July 11 in over 90 countries around the world and the theme this year is ‘Vulnerable population in emergencies' to ensure the dignity, safety and reproductive health for all women and girls at all times

Rural women make up over a quarter the world's population and majority of the 43% of women in the global agricultural labour force. They till the lands and plant seeds to feed nations. They ensure food security for their communities and build climate resilience. But when it comes to owning land, accessing agricultural inputs, financing and technologies for climate resilience, they are left far behind men. Statement by UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin from the Royal Society in London. 26th October 2011 Transcript of filmed statement by UNFPA Executive Director Dr. Babatunde Osotimehin. Our report today, which I'm going to launch today, is entitled "People and Possibilities in a World of 7 Billion". While our world of 7 billion presents a complex picture -- and a tapestry - of trends and paradoxes, there are some essential global trends that we observe. - Educating and empowering girls and women allow them to have fewer children than their mothers and their grandmothers did, and they choose this path whenever and wherever they can. - We must consistently involve boys and men, because in this enterprise they are the critical partners we require for health and development. In 1994, world leaders from almost 180 countries in the world came together in Cairo at the International Conference on Population and Development , the ICPD, and established a strategy for countries to put health and rights and dignity and well-being at the centre of development. This subsequently became UNFPA's mission and is as critical today as it was in 1994. We need continued support from donors, but I also want to say greater commitment from programme countries. Today there are 215 million women of child-bearing age in the world, most of whom are in developing countries who would like to use family planning if they can get it, but they are not getting it. There are millions of adolescent girls and boys in the developing world who have too little access to sexuality education. They also do not have access to counselling and information about how to prevent pregnancies and protect themselves from HIV. We should tear down economic , legal, social and cultural barriers and put women and men and boys and girls on an equal footing in all spheres of life -- and put people in the centre of development . We should invest in the health and education of the world's 1.8 billion young people and make them entrepreneurs who foster sustainable development . With planning and right investments in people -- particularly young women and men -- today, we can make and have thriving sustainable cities and communities, productive labour forces that fuel social and economic growth, youth populations that contribute to the well-being of their societies, and communities where the elderly are productive, healthy, economically secure and have dignity. In a world of seven billion let us count on each other!

Investing in Women is a Smart Choice No one knows yet what the full scale of this global economic crisis will look like. We do know that women and children in developing countries will bear the brunt of the impact. What started as a financial crisis in rich countries is now deepening into a global economic crisis that is hitting developing countries hard. It is already affecting progress toward reducing poverty. Policy responses that build on women's roles as economic agents can do a lot to mitigate the effects of the crisis on development, especially because women, more than men, invest their earnings in the health and education of their children. Investments in public health, education, child care and other social services help mitigate the impact of the crisis on the entire family and raise productivity for a healthier economy. Protect the gains achieved Investments in education and health for women and girls have been linked to increases in productivity, agricultural yields, and national income — all of which contribute to the achievement of the MDGs. Investments by governments worldwide have raised school enrolment rates, narrowed the gender gap in education, brought life-saving drugs to people living with AIDS, expanded HIV prevention, delivered bed nets to prevent malaria, and improved child health through immunization. www.unfpa.org
