However, in the new mobile universe, these two worlds have become completely interlinked and merged into one. Consumers no longer separate their online experience from the experience they have in real world interactions with the brand. This is important for brands to understand and in order to be successful, both aspects must be seamlessly merged. Brands are no longer able to keep these two separate if they want to create a good, integrated experience for their consumers. Speed of brand response is key in a mobile world… Everyone knows that speed is an important factor in the mobile world. Brands understand that there is a need for fast, real time response to consumers in a mobile setting. For example, through social media, if a consumer tweets about something that may have made them angry with the brand, they expect to receive a response almost immediately. Although brands seem to understand this in a social media setting, the same immediacy needs to be applied in-store. Mobile Immediacy and personal response needs to be applied in-store as well ... Yes, Brands have social media strategists who manage their online presence and deliver real time response but this is not enough. This type of immediacy and personal service needs to be carried through to in-store consumer interactions. Due to the fact that consumers are used to this type of service online and through social media, they will begin to expect it in-store. If a customer is used to this personal response, they will expect the person behind the counter to know who they are, and when they phone a customer care centre about an issue or to place an order, they expect it to be solved immediately. Ultimately this means that the creation of immediate and personal responses does not just sit in the world of social media, but in real world branding as well.

Direct response marketing has been around for a long time. And most great marketers and salespeople understand the concept behind direct response marketing. Yet, why is it that so few websites from salespeople like financial professionals ignore all of the rules to direct response marketing?
