Dynamic sql table name variable

This is one of the sql questions that is very commonly asked. I have a web page with a textbox. When I enter a table name in the textbox and when I click "Load Data" button, we want to retrieve data from that respective table and display it on the page. Copy the SQL Script to create the tables from my blog using the link below http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/04/dynamic-sql-table-name-variable.html Create the following stored procedure. Notice we are passing table name as a parameter to the stored prcoedure. In the body of the stored procedure we are concatenating strings to build our dynamic sql statement. In our previous videos we discussed that this open doors for SQL injection. Create procedure spDynamicTableName @TableName nvarchar(100) As Begin Declare @sql nvarchar(max) Set @sql = 'Select * from ' + @TableName Execute sp_executesql @sql End So the obvious question that comes to our mind is, why are we not creating parameterised sql statement instead. The answers is we can't. SQL Server does not allow table names and column names to be passed as parameters. Notice in the example below, we are creating a parameterised query with @TabName as a parameter. When we execute the following code, the procedure gets created successfully. Create procedure spDynamicTableName1 @TableName nvarchar(100) As Begin Declare @sql nvarchar(max) Set @sql = 'Select * from @TabName' Execute sp_executesql @sql, N'@TabName nvarchar(100)', @TabName = @TableName End But when we try to execute it we get an error - Must declare the table variable "@TabName" Execute spDynamicTableName1 N'Countries' Add a Web Page to the project that we have been working with in our previous video. Name it "DynamicTableName.aspx". Copy and paste the HTML from my blog using the link below http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/04/dynamic-sql-table-name-variable.html Copy and paste the code from my blog in the code-behind page http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2017/04/dynamic-sql-table-name-variable.html At this point, run the application and type the following text in the "Table Name" textbox and click "Load Data" button. Notice "SalesDB" database is dropped. Our application is prone to SQL injection as we have implemented dynamic sql in our stored procedure by concatenating strings instead of using parameters. Employees; Drop database SalesDB One way to prevent SQL injection in this case is by using SQL Server built-in function - QUOTENAME(). We will discuss QUOTENAME() function in detail in our next video. For now understand that by default, this function wraps that string that is passed to it in a pair of brackets. SELECT QUOTENAME('Employees') returns [Employees] Modify the stored procedure to use QUOTENAME() function as shown below. Alter procedure spDynamicTableName @TableName nvarchar(100) As Begin Declare @sql nvarchar(max) Set @sql = 'Select * from ' + QUOTENAME(@TableName) Execute sp_executesql @sql End At this point, type the following text in the "Table Name" textbox and click "Load Data" button. Notice you will see a message - Invalid object name 'Employees; Drop database SalesDB'. Also "SalesDB" database is not dropped. Employees; Drop database SalesDB The entire text in "Table Name" textbox is wrapped in a pair of brackets by the QUOTENAME function and is treated as table name. Since we do have a table with the specified name, we get the error - Invalid object name.

Part 26 Set operators in LINQ

11:41
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2014/08/part-26-set-operators-in-linq.html The following operators belong to Set operators category Distinct Union Intersect Except In this video we will discuss Distinct operator. This operator returns distinct elements from a given collection. Example 1: Return distinct country names. In this example the default comparer is being used and the comparison is case-sensitive, so in the output we see country USA 2 times. string[] countries = { "USA", "usa", "INDIA", "UK", "UK" }; var result = countries.Distinct(); foreach (var v in result) { Console.WriteLine(v); } Example 2: For the comparision to be case-insensitive, use the other overloaded version of Distinct() method to which we can pass a class that implements IEqualityComparer as an argument. In this case we see country USA only once in the output. string[] countries = { "USA", "usa", "INDIA", "UK", "UK" }; var result = countries.Distinct(StringComparer.OrdinalIgnoreCase); foreach (var v in result) { Console.WriteLine(v); } When comparing elements, Distinct() works in a slightly different manner with complex types like Employee, Customer etc. Example 3: Notice that in the output we don't get unique employees. This is because, the default comparer is being used which will just check for object references being equal and not the individual property values. List[Employee] list = new List[Employee]() { new Employee { ID = 101, Name = "Mike"}, new Employee { ID = 101, Name = "Mike"}, new Employee { ID = 102, Name = "Mary"} }; var result = list.Distinct(); foreach (var v in result) { Console.WriteLine(v.ID + "\t" + v.Name); } To solve the problem in Example 3, there are 3 ways 1. Use the other overloaded version of Distinct() method to which we can pass a custom class that implements IEqualityComparer 2. Override Equals() and GetHashCode() methods in Employee class 3. Project the properties into a new anonymous type, which overrides Equals() and GetHashCode() methods Example 4 : Using the overloaded version of Distinct() method to which we can pass a custom class that implements IEqualityComparer Step 1 : Create a custom class that implements IEqualityComparer[T] and implement Equals() and GetHashCode() methods public class EmployeeComparer : IEqualityComparer[Employee] { public bool Equals(Employee x, Employee y) { return x.ID == y.ID && x.Name == y.Name; } public int GetHashCode(Employee obj) { return obj.ID.GetHashCode() ^ obj.Name.GetHashCode(); } } Step 2 : Pass an instance of EmployeeComparer as an argument to Distinct() method List[Employee] list = new List[Employee]() { new Employee { ID = 101, Name = "Mike"}, new Employee { ID = 101, Name = "Mike"}, new Employee { ID = 102, Name = "Mary"} }; var result = list.Distinct(new EmployeeComparer()); foreach (var v in result) { Console.WriteLine(v.ID + "\t" + v.Name); } Example 5 : Override Equals() and GetHashCode() methods in Employee class public class Employee { public int ID { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public override bool Equals(object obj) { return this.ID == ((Employee)obj).ID && this.Name == ((Employee)obj).Name; } public override int GetHashCode() { return this.ID.GetHashCode() ^ this.Name.GetHashCode(); } } Example 6 : Project the properties into a new anonymous type, which overrides Equals() and GetHashCode() methods List[Employee] list = new List[Employee]() { new Employee { ID = 101, Name = "Mike"}, new Employee { ID = 101, Name = "Mike"}, new Employee { ID = 102, Name = "Mary"} }; var result = list.Select(x =] new { x.ID, x.Name }).Distinct(); foreach (var v in result) { Console.WriteLine(" " + v.ID + "\t" + v.Name); }

Arrays in javascript

12:02
Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists http://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2014/12/arrays-in-javascript.html Arrays are collections and ZERO indexed. This means the first element is at index ZERO and the last element is at index arrayObject.length - 1. length property of the array object returns the size of the array. The following JavaScript code creates an empty array. length property returns 0 in this case. var emptyArray = []; alert(emptyArray.length); Output : 0 Another way to create an array is by busing the Array constructor as shown below. In this example we are setting the length of the array to 10. var myArray = new Array(10); alert(myArray.length); Output : 10 Retrieving first and last elements from the array using the array index var myArray = [10, 20, 30]; document.write("First element = " + myArray[0] + "[br/]"); document.write("Last element = " + myArray[myArray.length - 1] + "[br/]"); Output : First element = 10 Last element = 30 Populating an array in JavaScript : There are several ways to populate an array in JavaScript. Let's look at those different option now. Declaring an array first and then populating using the array index var myArray = []; myArray[0] = 10; myArray[1] = 20; myArray[2] = 30; alert(myArray); Output : 10, 20, 30 Declaring and populating the array at the same time var myArray = [10, 20, 30]; alert(myArray); Output : 10, 20, 30 Declaring an array first using the Array constructor and then populating using the array index. Though the initial size is set to 3, adding a fourth element to the array will not throw an exception, because arrays in JavaScript can grow in size. var myArray = new Array(3); myArray[0] = 10; myArray[1] = 20; myArray[2] = 30; alert(myArray); Output : 10, 20, 30 Declaring and populating the array at the same time using the Array constructor var myArray = new Array(10, 20, 30); alert(myArray); Output : 10, 20, 30 Please note : If only one number is passed to the Array constructor, then that number is used to set the size of the array. If more that one number is passed then those will be used as elements to populate the array. A for loop can be used to populate and retrieve elements from the array object in JavaScript Populating an array using for loop : The following JavaScript code stores even numbers in the array from 0 to 10. Notice that we are using a for loop to populate the array. var evenNumbersArray = []; for (var i = 0; i [= 5; i++) { evenNumbersArray[i] = i * 2; } alert(evenNumbersArray); Output : 0,2,4,6,8,10 Retrieving elements from the array using for loop : var evenNumbersArray = []; for (var i = 0; i [= 5; i++) { evenNumbersArray[i] = i * 2; } for (var i = 0; i [ evenNumbersArray.length; i++) { document.write(evenNumbersArray[i] + "[br/]"); } Output : 0 2 4 6 8 10

07:Java Loop Concept जावा लूप कांसेप्ट

15:11
explain very easy way loop:---If you don't understand my lecture so please read concept below Loops in Java In programming languages, loops are used to execute a set of instructions/functions repeatedly when some conditions become true. There are three types of loops in java. 1- for loop:-- The Java for loop is used to iterate a part of the program several times. If the number of iteration is fixed, it is recommended to use for loop. for(initialization;condition;incr/decr){ //code to be executed } 2- while loop:----The Java while loop is used to iterate a part of the program several times. If the number of iteration is not fixed, it is recommended to use while loop. while(condition){ //code to be executed } 3-- do while loop:----Java do-while Loop The Java do-while loop is used to iterate a part of the program several times. If the number of iteration is not fixed and you must have to execute the loop at least once, it is recommended to use do-while loop. The Java do-while loop is executed at least once because condition is checked after loop body. do{ //code to be executed }while(condition); 4- for each loop:--- The for-each loop is used to traverse array or collection in java. It is easier to use than simple for loop because we don't need to increment value and use subscript notation. It works on elements basis not index. It returns element one by one in the defined variable. for(Type var:array){ //code to be executed } this my email'id :[email protected] if you have any problem on any topic you can me send problem please subscribe my channel i need your help thank you

Java 10 Features | Var in Java| Introduction - Var Usage - Local Variable Type Inference - Techonica

11:54
Local Variable Type Inference - Java 10 Features Java is no more a strongly typed language. Java 10 uses local variable type inference like any other popular languages Scala, C# etc. Java was nearly the only popular statically typed language that has not embraced local variable type inference and finally in Java 10 it has embraced it. It is one of the java 10 features. Java 10 var keyword is one of few visible changes to the programmers as java 10 is mainly a performance and stability release. This video says where can we use var in java and where we cannot. Java has 2 types of variables, the local variable and instance variable. As of now, the local variable type inference, i.e., the var keyword in java is applicable only for the local variables. Type inference is the ability of the java compiler to look at each method invocation and corresponding declaration to determine the type of arguments. In Java 10, for local variable declaration with initializers, enhanced forEach indexes and index variables in traditional for loops allow the reserved type name 'var' to be used. Local variable declarations that lack initializers, declare multiple variables, have extra array dimension brackets or reference the variable being initialized are not allowed. I have already done a video on the introduction to java10 which covers the java 10 features overview. This video uses the java 10 installed from the below link from Oracle installed on my Windows 7 64 bit pc. Also to mention the java 10 performance is superior to that of java 9. Fun with `var` in Java 11

01:04:32
Since Java 10 you can use `var` to let the compiler infer a local variable's type: var users = new ArrayList() And that's pretty much it, right? Surprisingly, no! There are a lot of details to consider... * is this JavaScript?! * how exactly is the type inferred? * where can I use `var` and what should I look out for? * won't this lead to unreadable code? ... and a few fun things to do with `var`... * playing with anonymous classes (don't!) * faking traits (don't!) * faking intersection types (do!) After this live-coding deep dive into `var`, you'll know all about Java 10's flagship feature.

Send datatable as parameter to stored procedure

09:27
how to pass datatable to stored procedure in c#.net pass datatable to stored procedure in sql server 2008 In this video we will discuss how to send datatable as parameter to stored procedure. This is continuation to Part 99. Please watch Part 99 from SQL Server tutorial before proceeding. In Part 99, we discussed creating a stored procedure that accepts a table as a parameter. In this video we will discuss how to pass a datatable from a web application to the SQL Server stored procedure. Here is what we want to do. 1. Design a webform to insert 5 employees at a time into the database table. 2. Collections Refueled by Stuart Marks

51:42
The Collections Framework was introduced in JDK 1.2 back in 1998 and is still in heavy use today. Although its fundamentals remain unchanged, it has evolved considerably since its introduction, and it continues to evolve. This presentation will describe some of the recent enhancements made to Collections, particularly the lambda-capable default methods added in Java 8. The presentation will also cover enhancements currently in development for Java 9, including JEP 269, Convenience Factory Methods, a library-based API that serves the purpose of collection literals. Finally, the presentation will provide a glimpse at some several possible futures for the Collections Framework. Stuart Marks is a Principal Member of Technical Staff in the Java Platform Group at Oracle. He is currently working on a variety of JDK core libraries projects, including Collections, Lambda, and Streams, as well as improving test quality and performance. As his alter ego "Dr Deprecator" he also works on the Java SE deprecation mechanism. He has previously worked on JavaFX and Java ME at Sun Microsystems. He has over twenty years of software platform product development experience in the areas of window systems, interactive graphics, and mobile and embedded systems. Stuart holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Related blog https://blogs.oracle.com/java//collections-refueled

Every VARCHAR2(N) Declaration a Bug!? (HC-4)

07:51
That's right. VARCHAR2 declarations mean that you have to provide an "N" or constraint on the size of the variable. If you have such declarations all over your code, that's a form of hard-coding and you are likely to get hammered by VALUE_ERROR exceptions. This video shows you how to fix this problem, focusing in on the very helpful SUBTYPE feature of PL/SQL. ============================ Practically Perfect PL/SQL with Steven Feuerstein Copyright © 2015 Oracle and/or its affiliates. First Contact with Switch Expressions in Java 12

27:16
With Java 12, `switch` is no longer just a statement, but becomes an expression. That means it can have a return value (instead of having to assign or return results) and with a lambda-like syntax that doesn't fall-through (no more `break` 🎉) and exhaustiveness checks (less `default` ) it is much more readable. Table of contents: 1:53 switch statement 4:39 switch expression 7:44 statement blocks 9:38 multiple case labels 11:20 exhaustiveness 14:48 no fall-through 15:36 poly expressions 20:42 other types 21:55 old-style colon form 24:25 outlook Definitive Guide To Switch Expressions: https://blog.codefx.org/java/switch-expressions/ JEP 325 - Switch Expressions: https://openjdk.java.net/jeps/325 JEP 12 - Preview Language and VM Features: https://openjdk.java.net/jeps/12 Repository with examples: https://github.com/CodeFX-org/demo-java-x Article on 'var': https://blog.codefx.org/java/java-10-var-type-inference/ Nicolai: * home: http://codefx.org * online Java courses: http://courses.codefx.org * on Twitter: https://twitter.com/nipafx

Thinking In Parallel by Stuart Marks and Brian Goetz

01:00:04
The Java 8 Streams library makes it easy to run code in parallel. A common error is code that works when run sequentially but that misbehaves when run in parallel. This is often caused by programmers who are stuck in a mode of imperative, left-to-right thinking. This leads to an iterative style where data is mutated, and where the next result depends on the result of the previous computation, creating barriers to parallel computation. This presentation covers alternative programming technique called "array programming," where operations are applied on data aggregates instead of individual elements. It also includes examples and demonstrations that illustrate these techniques and how they lead easier-to-understand, parallel-ready code. Brian Goetz is the Java Language Architect at Oracle, and was the specification lead for JSR-335 (Lambda Expressions for the Java Programming Language.) He is the author of the best-selling Java Concurrency in Practice, as well as over 75 articles on Java development, and has been fascinated by programming since Jimmy Carter was President. [VNH-8902]
