Who is a Product Manager and What do they do? [Career Insights]

07:54
The role of a product manager is crucial but also one of the least understood ones. What does a product manager really do? Is he more of a data analyst? Or someone who deals with the tech aspects of product, leading the team of engineers? Or does the product manager largely concern himself/herself with user experience, design or the overall business strategy? Mind-boggling isn't it? No wonder the role is difficult to understand for most. In this video, Ravijot Chugh, Co-Founder and Product Head at UpGrad, explains in detail the various responsibilities a Product Manager has, and that you need to execute to the best of your ability to be a good PM. If you want to bag one among the thousands of highly coveted openings for Product Managers between now and 2020 (only to grow exponentially even after), you need to start upgrading your existing skills and mastering these key skills. Product Managers are often referred to as mini-CEOs of the product. This is why, at tech companies, startups and large MNCs that are now diversifying, alike, the role of Product Managers is lucrative and one of the most important in the organization. Product Designer vs UX Designer | What's The Difference?

06:29
FREE UX Design Portfolio = http://www.laithwallace.com/the-ultimate-ux-portfolio-template/ The Ultimate UX Design Portfolio Template for UX Designers Create your own High-Quality portfolio with this 15-page template, Including Keynote and Powerpoint file + Instructions on how to use it. __________________________________________________________________ Product Designer vs UX Designer | The Top 3 Differences Explained In this video I breakdown the differences between a Product Designer and a UX Designer. Product design is the process of identifying a market opportunity, clearly defining the problem, developing a proper solution for that problem and validating the solution with real users. User experience (UX) design is the process of creating products that provide meaningful and relevant experiences to users. This involves the design of the entire process of acquiring and integrating the product, including aspects of branding, design, usability, and function. The main differences I speak about are 1. The Product Design specialises in the strategic direction of the project. 2. The Product design maintains communication with different departments and relays key information back to the Design team. 3. The Product Designer keeps things on budget for the project. Where the UX Designer focuses on experience for the end user and testing to make iterations to the project also. __________________________________________________________________ Download Your Free 25 Point UX Design Checklist - http://www.laithwallace.com/ux-checklist My Top Resources for UX Designers: http://www.laithwallace.com/resources/ UX Design Course Survey - Please fill this out https://goo.gl/forms/qbFRQURZewfUywGk1 This is my personal vlog from Laith Wallace I’m a UX Designer and Brand Strategist. Making sense of MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

11:47
Adapted from Crisp's blog by Henrik Kniberg. Explaining his MVP drawing. This drawing shows up all over the place, in articles and presentations, even in a book (Jeff Patton’s “User Story Mapping” – an excellent read by the way). Many tell me the drawing really captures the essence of iterative & incremental development, lean startup, MVP (minimum viable product), and what not. However, some misinterpret it, which is quite natural when you take a picture out of it’s original context. Some criticize it for oversimplifying things, which is true. The picture is a metaphor. Creating amazing products requires more than brilliant ideas, meticulously crafted interactions, and cutting-edge technology—it requires a fanatical focus on users and a commitment to producing something that is both useful and desireable. It requires cross-functional teams that listen, iterate, and learn. Front is the product design conference for UX designers and product managers. It's a different kind of conference. Attendees come for an education, not a party. Instead of long-winded speeches or motivational speakers—it's real world, from-the-trenches case studies and hands-on training from your peers. It's four days of learning and growth. Get answers to deep organizational questions and insights into how to validate are solving the right problems in the right way. In 2016, Front Salt Lake CIty sold out with over 600 attendees from 5 countries and 28 states across the US. Join us at the Front to share, learn, and be inspired to create amazing products.
