CLOTHES & FASHION - IELTS Sample Speaking Test 8.0+ with Tape Script
Examiner: Good morning, what’s your full name, please? Candidate: My full name is Kaisy Nguyen. E: Could you please give me your ID card? C: Here it is. E: Nice to meet you, my name is…, and I come from… I’ll begin by asking you some questions about yourself. Candidate: Yeap. Part 1 E: What clothes do you like to wear? C: I like to mix T-shirt with Jeans, especially for the casual style. It’s really fashionable and convenient. E: What kinds of clothes do you dislike? C: Honestly, I don’t wear the skirt which is too tight and too short. It makes me feel like it needs letting out and letting down. E: What does your family think about the clothes that you wear? C: I suppose that each of us has the different eye for fashion and that’s the reason why my family respects my style. E: Are clothes and fashions important to you? C: I have to confess that I take pride in my appearance, so I’ve never regretted spending a lot of money for it. Part 2 E: Thank you very much. Let’s move on cue card topic. Here’s the question: Describe the types of clothes you prefer to wear You should say: What the clothes look like When you prefer to wear them Where you like to buy them And explain why you like wearing these clothes I’d like you to speak on this topic in 2 minutes. Before that, you have 1 minute to prepare. And here’s some paper and pen for you to make some notes if you wish. …1 minute… Well, could you please begin. Well, as I’ve mentioned before, I like to mix T-shirt with Jeans. It’s really fashionable and convenient, which I prefer to dress for the casual occasion. Although this style is simple, this is one of the timeless fashions in the world that likes a must-have item for fashion lovers. Moreover, I guess that it’s easy to get a makeover with T-shirt and Jean, you always look young and smart. In detail, when I need to go out with my family and friends, this style is absolutely my first choice. Indeed, it’s faster and comfortable when I just have to put on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt. Especially, I have to confess that I’m actually a shopaholic so I always go crazy with a brand-new T-shirt and Jean for each season. When I see things I love, I’ll immediately buy them, it not depends on where I like to buy. Sometimes I get in Mango store when I’m in a shopping mall and other times maybe while I’m in a supermarket, I have a quick look and see if there’s anything that catches my eye. Moreover, online shopping is my favorite activity as well, I prefer free size so it’s easier, cheaper and safer to buy via the Internet. I suppose that I even can save me a lot of time too. Besides, everyone says that I look good in this style, therefore, I spend a lot of money like a slave for fashion. For T-shirt and jean, for each occasion, I have different ways of the makeover. I always feel that with this style, I’m so trendy and smart. In addition, I suppose that I have an eye for color so, with my T-shirt and jean collection, I still know how to wear it suitable for the particular event. As a woman, I love to dress up and my choice is always T-shirt and jean. Part 3 E: Thank you very much. Let’s move on to discussion topic related to Fashion&Clothes. E: How different are the clothes people wear now compared to ten years ago? C: I suppose that everything has change swiftly since 10 years ago, especially in fashion. There are a variety of brand-new styles that the previous generations have never known before, such as unisex or cosplay etc. However, there are still some styles that are always popular and fashionable like vintage or T-shirt and Jean, which are as same as the last 10 years. E: Compare the materials and fashions of today's clothing with those of the past C: In my opinion, there are more and more materials and fashions were born to meet the need of modern people. For examples, suede, denim etc, they are the latest and the hottest trends in recently. Meanwhile, linen was one of the most trendy materials in the past. Moreover, people in modern society have a tendency to choose the sexy style, instead of vintage style in the past. E: Do men and women have the same buying habits when they buy clothes? C: This is a very riveting question. From my point of view, I think that the way of buying clothes of men and women is totally different. The men tend to buy practical and suitable things, while women love things that look pretty, even in some cases, they just dress one time for their whole lives. With men, they just need some dress for suitable occasions, they use clothes. In contrast, women always want to be a fashion guru and they usually can’t stop buying new clothes. The more women buy clothes, the less satisfied they feel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBSCRIBE: https://goo.gl/Zd4cFB DOWNLOAD FREE Practice App iOS: http://apple.co/2j3DJBZ Android: https://goo.gl/LVf3jF VISIT OUR COMMUNITY: https://www.facebook.com/ieltsezdotcom

IELTS Speaking Test 2016 | Clothes, fashion, fashion industry,
February IELTS speaking test questions & answers: http://ieltsspeakingquestions.blogspot.com/2016/02/clothing-you-received-as-a-gift-recently.html Questions about: job, work, computers, learning, future plans, clothes, gifts, fashion, designer clothes, young people, old people, trendy clothes, uniforms How to pass the IELTS Speaking Test | Part 3 Top tips on how to respond to Part 3 questions in the IELTS speaking test In section 3 of the IELTS speaking test, the IELTS examiner asks you some additional questions (follow up questions) related to the topic you speak about in Part 2 of the test (the Cue Card Topic). The time allowance for Part 3 in the IELTS test is 4 to 5 minutes. How many questions you are asked will depend on the length of the answers you give to each question – around 40 seconds per question is a good guide. The format of the questions in part 3 is as follows: Part 3 consists of two main questions (Q1 and Q2), and each main question has three sub questions. Time management is important in this section of the test because if you spend 4 minutes answering the first question and the three sub questions – you will not be asked the second main question (Q2) and sub questions. Why is this important? Because instead of responding to six questions in total – you will respond to only three. The IELTS examiner only allows for four minutes in total. Therefore, if you speak for four minutes in response to Q1 – you will have no more time available to try and answer any other questions. It’s possible that some of the other questions provide a better opportunity for you to talk. For some test takers, it might be easier to give shorter answers (40 seconds) and attempt to answer all six questions. Important: Part 3 questions are related to the topic you talk about in Part 2 of the IELTS speaking test. This means that if you receive a Part 2 Cue Card Topic about food, for example, then the Part3 questions will also be related to food, in general. Part 3 Question Examples: We have been discussing a popular type of food in your country, and now I’d like to ask some more questions about this subject in general. Question 1 Firstly, I would like to discuss what things make a specific kind or style of food become popular in a country. Can you suggest some things which make a certain type of food popular? • Which types of food are the most popular in your country? • Why do you think these particular types of food are the most popular? • Do you think that other types of food might be popular in the future? Question 2 Now, let’s continue and talk about national variations in styles of food. Why do you think different types of food become popular in different countries? • Do you think it is important to be able to correctly cook the national food of the country you are born in? • What are some of the ways in which people can learn about and learn to appreciate food from different countries? • Do you think it’s possible that there might only be one kind of global food sometime in the future? Good luck in your IELTS Speaking Test!

Fashion your future: Think more like a fashion designer | Suzi Vaughan | TEDxQUT
We live in times of unprecedented, disruptive change and uncertainty and most people find it challenging to thrive in those circumstances. If ‘design thinking’ is the new black, then thinking like a fashion design may just be the next big thing! This talk takes the idea of design thinking and translates it into a series of very practical tips that you can employ yourself, every day to help you think more optimistically in times of uncertainty and ambiguity. Professor Suzi Vaughan has settled (for now) in Brisbane, Australia having studied, lived and worked in Europe and Asia. After graduating from St Martins School of Art in London with a Ba Hons in Fashion, she started her professional career as a fashion designer, later moving into fashion education. Since 2011 she has been part of the executive team of a large Australian university. English lesson: how to speak about fashion. Wie spricht man über Fashion.
Hey, everyone. It’s Berlin fashion week! We are so excited. Except we shouldn’t show it, because it’s not cool to show that you are super excited in Berlin. ☺ Seriously though, do you know how to talk about fashion in English? Do you know how to compliment a person on what she or he is wearing? Or how to compare that person to someone or something else? In this English lesson, I will show you how you can do that. It’s simple. You can do it by using the word “look”. Hope you enjoy the video! This is Neil. As you know, I live and work in Berlin. And, oh my God! This week, it’s Berlin Fashion week. Sorry about that. It’s Berlin, so you don’t want to get too excited. So, do you know how to talk about fashion in English? Watch this video and find out. Main part: So, how do you talk about fashion in English? Wie spricht man über Fashion auf Englisch? The key word that you can use here is “look”. So “look” you can use it as a verb with an adjective. So for example you can say: “You look amazing.” Or: “You look hot in that dress.” Or: “You look sexy in that suit.” Or: “You look so cool.” Or if you are freaking out about your own clothes. And you think: “I’m not gonna get into this event. I’m not gonna get into this club.” You can say: “Oh my God. I look awful.” Or, make yourself feel better by looking at bad photos of celebrities: “Oh my God. What has he done to his face? He looks hideous.” “She looks unhealthy.” “He looks miserable.” Or you can say look like someone or look like something. So, auf Deutsch: “Du siehst aus wie jemand.” So for example. “You look like Kim Kardashian. Be careful with your jewellery.” “You look like a tourist. You’re not going to get into Berghain dressed like that.” “I look like a smurf.” “Oh my god! I look like shit. I’m so hungover. I think I’m gonna get sick.” And finally, you can also use look as a noun to describe the appearance or the overall impression that the clothes communicate. So, for example, you can say. “Oh, that look is so now.” “That look is a little bit last year.” Or you could ask the question. “So, what look is that?” And the answer could be: “Oh, it’s the classy look.” Or: “This is the sporty look.” Or “This is the Berlin look.” So, hope you enjoyed the video. If you did, please hit the like button. If you haven’t subscribed already to the channel, make sure to subscribe. And turn on the notifications button, so you’ll never miss any of the videos. See you next Wednesday. Hey guys. Thanks a lot for watching the videos. Hi everyone! This is a topic that I've been thinking about a little bit recently and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. If you've got anything to add, feel free to tell me about it! I think that what inspires us as people and our style is a really interesting topic, because inspiration is all around us! it often comes from the groups that we exist in - whether that's geographical, identity-based (like the LGBT community), or online. And I think that we have to lift each other up within these groups! The exhibition I mentioned is called Queer Looks and is part of Brighton Museum's Wear It Out project, celebrating 50 years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality in the UK. Queer Looks is focused on the dress of LGBTQ+ people in Brighton and Sussex! It opens next Summer!! Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elliemedhurst/ Stay Fabulous! xoxoxoxoxo

IELTS Speaking Part 2: topic "Discrimination" MUST WATCH!!!
Don't get offended over this topic, or the sample answer, lol. It is not my responsibility if you get offended over any content of this video. "Describe a time when you witnessed a discrimination. You should say: _What type of discrimination it was. _Who were involved in such incident. _When and where it happened. _The solutions for or consequences of the incident. And explain how you felt about it." I would like to tell you about an incident that I have seen last year on my trip to the coastal city of Nha Trang. The thing is: Nha Trang is a tourist attraction and on a yearly basis, millions of people from all over the world came there to enjoy their vacations. Among them, Chinese tourists are the most abundant and they certainly bring with them many issues as well as financial gain for the local population. On my trip, I was in a big restaurant with my family and then suddenly, a group of Chinese rushed in and they were very loud as well as disrespectful toward the staffs and the other customers. It had come to the point that the owner asked those guests to go into a separate room which “only served Chinese customers”, so that they would not be sitting in the same room with the other nationalities. And of course they did go to that room and the staffs had to try their best to serve those annoying-but-wealthy people, which pleased me somehow, if you think about how much of a fuss they could have caused when having their meals with us. Finally, I talked to one of those guests and he said :”we have the money and can do whatever we want!” so I believe that discrimination has its own reasons, even though the act is morally wrong and we should fight it to make the world a better place to live in.

IELTS speaking part 1 sample - Fashion/clothes
Subscribe my channel to get more updated videos https://goo.gl/U15hh1 --- IELTS Speaking part 1: Fashion/clothes47. Do you care about fashion?I used to in my younger days, I remember always looking to see what my favourite musicians were wearing and then try to copy them, but now that I’m older I don’t really care as long as I look smart.48. What kind of things do you normally wear?It depends what I’m doing really. If I’m working I always wear a dress shirt and trousers, but we don’t have to wear a tie. If I’m going out it will be more casual like a polo shirt and jeans and if I’m at home it will be really relaxed, just a t-shirt and shorts.49. Are there any traditional clothes in your country?I have no idea. There might be but I can’t recall ever hearing anyone talking about them or seeing someone wearing them. Where do you usually purchase your clothes?I used to go to the trendy shops when I was a student, but now I’m older and have little time I just like to go to a big shopping centre or department store and buy everything there. It’s more convenient that way and it means I don’t have to run all over town just for a few clothes.50. Have you ever bought clothes online? No, because I don’t trust their clothes to always fit me. I know a few people who order lots of clothes online and order a few different sizes and then send the ones that don’t fit them back, but I can’t be bothered with all that. It’s much quicker to go into a proper shop and try the clothes on there and make sure they are a proper fit.51. Do people from your country think fashion is important?More so these days. Our country wouldn’t be very high on the list of international fashion hot spots, but I notice people following certain trends more. Last year, there was a red trouser craze and everywhere you looked people had red trousers on.52. What is your favourite item of clothing?Probably my leather jacket. It cost a fortune and it makes me feel really confident when I go out in it. I normally get a few compliments also because it is quite slimming
