List Oracle Database Schemas, Tables, Columns and table contents using Angularjs and JSP.

17:05
This is a basic dba tutorial about getting contents on Oracle database objects like procedures, functions, package spec, package bodies, triggers and many more. This application dynamically load schemas and load object type when schema selected and object name when object type selected and when object name is selected you get the content of the object. You can even compile the object with a little compile button below, although it might not work properly everytime. Link to source code : https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BznrW3lgX0ozcElkeTVzREdFeUU

08 of 13 - Oracle APEX 5 - List of values (LOV) for a field in a form; display a hidden column

13:22
A new series using APEX 18.1 is now available. https://youtu.be/65LExgaQMHI This is one in a series of videos about creating an application using Oracle APEX 5. In this video we create two lists of values (LOVs) in the Shared Components section of our application. We use each LOV in place of a field in a form. We see how APEX will help us write the SQL for a LOV. The difference between a "display value"and a "return value"is discussed. Finally, we display the primary key field in a form, which APEX hides by default. See the primary key field in a form can be helpful during application development. SQL scripts for this series are available to download at: http://web.nmsu.edu/~jkreie/oracle/DatabaseTopics.html or by request at http://db.kreie.net

SQL with Oracle 10g XE - Using the DISTINCT Function

02:52
In this video I use the DISTINCT function to list the values of a column from a query and remove the duplicate listings. When using the DISTINCT function be sure to have parenthesis around the column you wish to perform the function on. You can't use the * to list all the columns in the SELECT command, so you will need to write the columns you wish to see out. If you want to rename the column you created with the function use the keyword AS on the SELECT line. This video is part of a series of videos with the purpose of learning the SQL language. Analytical Functions in oracle explained with real examples

25:24
This video explains analytical functions and how they are implemented in real projects. Analytical functions are somewhat similar to aggregate functions, but they offer much more. Why use analytical function ? They allow you to write fast and concise queries which otherwise will involve self join and long processing times They allow you to perform aggregate functions independently on sets of partitions. You can access values from previous rows in current row and you can restrict the window on which you want to apply this analytical function. I have given additional practice exercises along with the dataset so that you can comfortably work with analytical functions. You can find the sample problems along with dataset in the below link. http://www.internshipsfromhome.com/oracle-analytical-functions-ddl-and-dml/

Composite Range-Hash Partitioning Composite range-hash partitioning partitions data using the range method, and within each partition, subpartitions it using the hash method. Composite range-hash partitioning provides the improved manageability of range partitioning and the data placement, striping, and parallelism advantages of hash partitioning. Composite Range-List Partitioning Composite range-list partitioning partitions data using the range method, and within each partition, subpartitions it using the list method. Composite range-list partitioning provides the manageability of range partitioning and the explicit control of list partitioning for the subpartitions. Composite List-Range Partitioning Composite list-range partitioning enables logical range subpartitioning within a given list partitioning strategy; for example, list partition by country_id and range subpartition by order_date. Composite List-Hash Partitioning Composite list-hash partitioning enables hash subpartitioning of a list-partitioned object; for example, to enable partition-wise joins. Composite List-List Partitioning Composite list-list partitioning enables logical list partitioning along two dimensions; for example, list partition by country_id and list subpartition by sales_channel. Composite Hash-Hash Partitioning Composite hash-hash partitioning enables hash partitioning along two dimensions. This technique is beneficial to enable partition-wise joins along two dimensions. Composite Hash-Range Partitioning Composite hash-range partitioning enables hash partitioning along two dimensions.
03 How to configure List partition in Oracle

10:24
Use list partitioning when you require explicit control over how rows map to partitions. You can specify a list of discrete values for the partitioning column in the description for each partition. This is different from range partitioning, where a range of values is associated with a partition, and from hash partitioning, where the user has no control of the row to partition mapping. List partitioning allows unordered and unrelated sets of data to be grouped and organized together very naturally The following example creates a table with list partitioning create table customers (custcode number(5), Name varchar2(20), Addr varchar2(10,2), City varchar2(20), Bal number(10,2)) Partition by list (city), Partition north_India values (‘DELHI’,’CHANDIGARH’), Partition east_India values (‘KOLKOTA’,’PATNA’), Partition south_India values (‘HYDERABAD’,’BANGALORE’,’CHENNAI’), Partition west India values (‘BOMBAY’,’GOA’); If a row is inserted in the above table then oracle maps the value of city column and whichever partition list matches the city column the row is stored in that partition.

Alter database table columns without dropping table Part 67

04:06
In this video, we will discuss, altering a database table column without having the need to drop the table. Let's understand this with an example. Text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2013/08/part-67-alter-database-table-columns.html Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2013/09/part-67-alter-database-table-columns.html All SQL Server Text Articles http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/free-sql-server-video-tutorials-for.html All SQL Server Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/sql-server.html All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in English https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in Arabic https://www.youtube.com/c/KudvenkatArabic/playlists We will be using table tblEmployee for this demo. Use the sql script below, to create and populate this table with some sample data. Create table tblEmployee ( ID int primary key identity, Name nvarchar(50), Gender nvarchar(50), Salary nvarchar(50) ) Insert into tblEmployee values('Sara Nani','Female','4500') Insert into tblEmployee values('James Histo','Male','5300') Insert into tblEmployee values('Mary Jane','Female','6200') Insert into tblEmployee values('Paul Sensit','Male','4200') Insert into tblEmployee values('Mike Jen','Male','5500') The requirement is to group the salaries by gender. To achieve this we would write a sql query using GROUP BY as shown below. Select Gender, Sum(Salary) as Total from tblEmployee Group by Gender When you execute this query, we will get an error - Operand data type nvarchar is invalid for sum operator. This is because, when we created tblEmployee table, the "Salary" column was created using nvarchar datatype. SQL server Sum() aggregate function can only be applied on numeric columns. So, let's try to modify "Salary" column to use int datatype. Let's do it using the designer. 1. Right click on "tblEmployee" table in "Object Explorer" window, and select "Design" 2. Change the datatype from nvarchar(50) to int 3. Save the table At this point, you will get an error message - Saving changes is not permitted. The changes you have made require the following tables to be dropped and re-created. You have either made changes to a table that can't be re-created or enabled the option Prevent saving changes that require the table to be re-created. So, the obvious next question is, how to alter the database table definition without the need to drop, re-create and again populate the table with data? There are 2 options Option 1: Use a sql query to alter the column as shown below. Alter table tblEmployee Alter column Salary int Option 2: Disable "Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation" option in sql server 2008 1. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2008 2. Click Tools, select Options 3. Expand Designers, and select "Table and Database Designers" 4. On the right hand side window, uncheck, Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation 5. Click OK

List items poplist, tlist, combobox with user input A list item is an interface object that displays a predefined set of choices, each corresponding to a specific data value. You use the list item at run time to select a single value. List choices or elements are mutually exclusive; one and only one can be selected at a time. The Three List Item Styles • Poplist: Appears as a field with an iconic button attached to the right (When you click a poplist, all its list elements are displayed.) • Tlist: Appears as a rectangular box that displays the list elements (When the display area is not big enough to display all the list elements, a scroll bar is automatically attached to the right to view the remaining list elements.) • Combo box: Appears as a field with a down arrow next to its right (Use the button to display all the combo box list elements. The combo box accepts user input.) Uses and Benefits of List Items • Enable display of a defined set of choices • Display a set of choices without using a vast area of canvas • Provide an alternative to radio groups • Provide a Windows-style list of values Follow me: https://www.facebook.com/munir.du Oracle Forms 10g: Oracle Forms building menus Oracle Forms 10g: Controlling Validation Using Properties-Validate from List Oracle Forms 10g: ONETIME _WHERE clause to restrict the query only once Oracle Forms 10g: Forms Calendar in date field Oracle Forms 10g: Image items Oracle Forms 10g: Change list items at run time Oracle Forms 10g: Dynamic list item Oracle Forms 10g: Case-sensitive query and interacting with check box using trigger Oracle Forms 10g: How to create iconic button

Importing Data from Excel into Oracle Database using SQL Developer 4.1

02:23
One of SQL Developer’s most popular features has undergone a significant upgrade. Users can quickly define and recall delimited or Excel files to be imported to a new or existing Oracle table. Data preview and validation is provided for each column, as well as ‘best guess’ data type and date format mask mapping. This process can now be automated via the SQL Developer command line interface (SDCLI) ‘Import’ command. NOTE: This is a video only. There is no audio. Copyright © 2015 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Link for all dot net and sql server video tutorial playlists https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?sort=dd&view=1 Link for slides, code samples and text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/08/jquery-datatables-get-data-from.html In this video we will discuss how to use database data with jQuery datatables plugin. There are many ways to get data into DataTables. If the data is small you can retrieve all the data at once and the processing (i.e paging, searching, ordering) is done on the client-side. On the other hand if the database data is large, server-side processing can be enabled. With server-side processing enabled, all paging, searching, ordering actions that DataTables performs are handed off to the server. In this video we will discuss retrieving all the data at once. The datatables plugin performs all the processing (i.e paging, searching, ordering etc) on the client-side. We want to retrieve data from the following database table tblEmployee. The database data should then be displayed using jQuery datatables plugin

MySQL 33 - Datetime, Date, Time Data Types

06:40
Next up on our MySQL to-do list is to learn about storing dates and times. There are various data types in MySQL for storing dates and times. It seems MySQL and databases likes to break everything up into multiple data types to make things more organized at the consequence of being confusing and annoying. This video is going to be talking about the DATETIME, DATE, and TIME data types. These are all used to store, you guessed it, dates and times. The one you choose depends on your needs. If you just need dates, choose DATE. If you just need times, choose TIME, if you need both stored together, choose DATETIME. Now you set a column one of these data types whenever you want every row for this field to have some sort of date, time or both…but how exactly is the data formatted? This requires us to understand some convention. For example, in the USA at least, if you have something like 4:30AM, by convention you know the hour is 4 and the minutes are 30. But this is just an agreed upon convention. MySQL has its own convention…For example 2017-02-02. The first thing is the year, the second is the month, and the third is the day. That is for the DATE. The convention for time is 22:54:30. The first is the hour (military time), the second is the minute, and the third is the seconds. Lastly, there can actually be fractions of seconds…up to microseconds! .123456. To use fractional seconds though you must specify to MySQL the precision of the TIME or DATETIME when you create it, for example DATETIME(6) would allow microsecond precision. How do you actually give a date to MySQL? By that I mean let's say you have a table with a column of DATETIME(6), and you want to give a value for that column, how do you format it? It's quoted. For example: '2017-02-02 22:54:30.333333' MySQL interprets this as a DATETIME. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Support me! http://www.patreon.com/calebcurry Subscribe to my newsletter: http://bit.ly/JoinCCNewsletter Donate!: http://bit.ly/DonateCTVM2. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Additional Links~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ More content: http://CalebCurry.com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/CalebTheVideoMaker Google+: https://plus.google.com/+CalebTheVideoMaker2 Twitter: http://twitter.com/calebCurry Amazing Web Hosting - http://bit.ly/ccbluehost (The best web hosting for a cheap price!)

in this video i will show you how to use select statement and sql plus commands and many more, join our group for more detail https://www.facebook.com/groups/242999206136244/, The Four main categories of SQL statements are as follows: 1. DML (Data Manipulation Language) 2. DDL (Data Definition Language) 3. DCL (Data Control Language) 4. TCL (Transaction Control Language) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DML statements include the following: SELECT – select records from a table INSERT – insert new records UPDATE – update/Modify existing records DELETE – delete existing records -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DDL statements are used to alter/modify a database or table structure and schema. These statements handle the design and storage of database objects. CREATE – create a new Table, database, schema ALTER – alter existing table, column description DROP – delete existing objects from database -------------------------------------------------------------------------- DCL statements control the level of access that users have on database objects. GRANT – allows users to read/write on certain database objects REVOKE – keeps users from read/write permission on database objects. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- TCL statements allow you to control and manage transactions to maintain the integrity of data within SQL statements. BEGIN Transaction – opens a transaction COMMIT Transaction – commits a transaction ROLLBACK Transaction – ROLLBACK a transaction in case of any error. ------------- .---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------. video courses- list of playlist : tips and trics link► https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOfLYVXrwqXrI5jvwUEi6N13QR4xCj2k2 command prompt commands: link►https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOfLYVXrwqXobXGUdGk6JhzyQ216dNiQL oracle sql: link►https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOfLYVXrwqXqoUWCoh4cARGDW13SofDO- c programming: link►https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLOfLYVXrwqXrZ_Ub8EXeLY7YP1YxhoJzf .-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------. watch more videos: learn oracle sql online overview tutorail : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dfesgj4w8QA&t=8s how to fix or repair a corrupted usb flash drive or cd card using command prompt: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id... how to copy a folder using cmd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lblhb... how to move a folder using cmd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFfHZ... how to dell files in cmd: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-lqg... how to make and remove directory: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id... how to change color and title in cmd: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id... how to change directory in command prompt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmLYx... .-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------. social media links: join our group: ► https://www.facebook.com/groups/24299... ► Follow on Google+: http://[email protected] ► Follow on Twitter: https://twitter.com/@rananavi4766669 :

Table valued parameters in SQL Server

06:46
table valued parameters example send table variable to stored procedure pass table variable as parameter to stored procedure pass table variable to sql stored procedure In this video we will discuss table valued parameters in SQL Server. Table Valued Parameter is a new feature introduced in SQL SERVER 2008. Table Valued Parameter allows a table (i.e multiple rows of data) to be passed as a parameter to a stored procedure from T-SQL code or from an application. Prior to SQL SERVER 2008, it is not possible to pass a table variable as a parameter to a stored procedure. Let us understand how to pass multiple rows to a stored procedure using Table Valued Parameter with an example. We want to insert multiple rows into the following Employees table. SQL Script to create the Employees table Create Table Employees ( Id int primary key, Name nvarchar(50), Gender nvarchar(10) ) Go Step 1 : Create User-defined Table Type CREATE TYPE EmpTableType AS TABLE ( Id INT PRIMARY KEY, Name NVARCHAR(50), Gender NVARCHAR(10) ) Go Step 2 : Use the User-defined Table Type as a parameter in the stored procedure. Table valued parameters must be passed as read-only to stored procedures, functions etc. This means you cannot perform DML operations like INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE on a table-valued parameter in the body of a function, stored procedure etc. CREATE PROCEDURE spInsertEmployees @EmpTableType EmpTableType READONLY AS BEGIN INSERT INTO Employees SELECT * FROM @EmpTableType END Step 3 : Declare a table variable, insert the data and then pass the table variable as a parameter to the stored procedure. DECLARE @EmployeeTableType EmpTableType INSERT INTO @EmployeeTableType VALUES (1, 'Mark', 'Male') INSERT INTO @EmployeeTableType VALUES (2, 'Mary', 'Female') INSERT INTO @EmployeeTableType VALUES (3, 'John', 'Male') INSERT INTO @EmployeeTableType VALUES (4, 'Sara', 'Female') INSERT INTO @EmployeeTableType VALUES (5, 'Rob', 'Male') EXECUTE spInsertEmployees @EmployeeTableType That's it. Now select the data from Employees table and notice that all the rows of the table variable are inserted into the Employees table. In our next video, we will discuss how to pass table as a parameter to the stored procedure from an ADO.NET application Text version of the video http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/09/table-valued-parameters-in-sql-server.html Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/2015/09/table-valued-parameters-in-sql-server_17.html All SQL Server Text Articles http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/free-sql-server-video-tutorials-for.html All SQL Server Slides http://csharp-video-tutorials.blogspot.com/p/sql-server.html All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in English https://www.youtube.com/user/kudvenkat/playlists?view=1&sort=dd All Dot Net and SQL Server Tutorials in Arabic https://www.youtube.com/c/KudvenkatArabic/playlists

mysql tutorial for beginners (6/8) : Indexes

05:48
mysql tutorial for beginners (6/8) : Indexes As things stand, the table students works and can be searched without problem by MySQL—until it grows to more than a couple of hundred rows, At that point, database accesses will get slower and slower with every new row added, because MySQL has to search through every row whenever a query is issued. This is like searching through every book in a library whenever you need to look something up. Of course, you don’t have to search libraries that way, because they have either a card index system or, most likely, a database of their own. The way to achieve fast searches is to add an index, either when creating a table or at any time afterward. But the decision is not so simple. For example, there are different index types such as a regular INDEX, PRIMARY KEY, and FULLTEXT. Also, you must decide which columns require an index, a judgment that requires you to predict whether you will be searching any of the data in that column. And even when you’ve decided that, you still have the option of reducing index size by limiting the amount of each column to be indexed. If we imagine the searches that may be made on the students table, it becomes apparent that all of the columns may need to be searched. Anyway, go ahead and add an index to each of the columns, using the commands: ALTER TABLE students ADD INDEX(name(3)); An alternative to using ALTER TABLE to add an index is to use the CREATE INDEX command. They are equivalent, except that CREATE INDEX cannot be used for creating a PRIMARY KEY CREATE INDEX surname ON students (surname(5)); DESCRIBE students; These commands create indexes on both the name and surname columns, limiting name index to only the first 3 characters, and surname index to the first 5 characters. For instance, when MySQL indexes the following name: SAFAA It will actually store in the index only the first 3 characters: SAF This is done to minimize the size of the index, and to optimize database access speed. DESCRIBE command shows the key MUL for each column. This key means that multiple occurrences of a value may occur within that column, which is exactly what we want, as name or surname may appear many times. You don’t have to wait, until after creating a table to add indexes. In fact, doing so can be time-consuming, as adding an index to a large table can take a very long time. Therefore, let’s look at a command that creates the table students with indexes already in place. CREATE TABLE students ( Id_studnet SMALLINT UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, name VARCHAR(10) NOT NULL, surname VARCHAR(20) NOT NULL, email VARCHAR(30) NOT NULL, INDEX(name(3)), INDEX(surname(5)), ,PRIMARY KEY(id_studnet),UNIQUE(email)); Another important index, PK, its single unique key for each student to enable instant accessing of a row. The importance of having a key with a unique value for each row will come up when we start to combine data from different tables. You can add PK, while you create the table at the first time, or later by issuing the following command: ALTER TABLE students ADD PRIMARY KEY(id_student); The last important index, FULLTEXT index Unlike a regular index, MySQL’s FULLTEXT allows super-fast searches of entire columns of text. It stores every word in every data string in a special index that you can search using “natural language,” in a similar manner to using a search engine. It’s not strictly true that MySQL stores all the words in a FULLTEXT index, because it has a built-in list of more than 500 words that it chooses to ignore because they are so common that they aren’t very helpful for searching anyway. This list, called stopwords, includes the, as, is, of, and so on. The list helps MySQL run much more quickly when performing a FULLTEXT search and keeps database sizes down. FULLTEXT indexes can be created for CHAR, VARCHAR, and TEXT columns only. A FULLTEXT index definition can be given in the CREATE TABLE statement when a table is created, or added later using ALTER TABLE (or CREATE INDEX). Adding a FULLTEXT index to the table students for the columns name and surname ALTER TABLE classics ADD FULLTEXT(name, surname); this index is in addition to the ones already created and does not affect them You can now perform FULLTEXT searches across this pair of columns. If you find that MySQL is running slower than you think it should be when accessing your database, the problem is usually related to your indexes. Either you don’t have an index where you need one, or the indexes are not optimally designed. Tweaking a table’s indexes will often solve such a problem. In the next tutorial, we will learn about, using FOREIGN KEY Constraints and how to join tables together.
