Great leadership starts with self-leadership | Lars Sudmann | TEDxUCLouvain

12:47
At TEDxUtopia, the question was asked: What would leadership in Utopia look like? To start with, imagine the best leader you have ever worked with. How did he or she get to become this type of leader? Leadership lecturer and former corporate executive Lars Sudmann argues that it's likely that they learned to overcome the "leadership formula of doom" and then developed themselves as a leader. In this funny and invigorating talk Lars walks us through the personal journeys of great leaders, shows lessons from the golden age of leadership and shares 3 strategies on self-leadership to develop yourself into a "Utopia leader”. Lars Sudmann is a leadership advisor and award-winning lecturer. He studies and researches what makes the most advanced organizations and leaders successful – and then he shares that knowledge with the world. He has had a business career of more than 10 years in management and finance with Procter & Gamble, e.g. as the Chief Financial Officer of Belgium, and he has lived and worked in Europe and Asia. Trends/Tendance, the Belgian Business Magazine, and the BBC have called on his expertise. Additionally, he is currently a university lecturer in Aachen and Braunschweig (both Germany). What does leadership in Utopia look like? How does leadership work in a future ultra-networked world? And is there one leadership ideal that we can all strive towards, and if yes, what is holding us back from achieving it? In this highly engaging talk, leadership expert Lars Sudmann will dive into the past, present and future of excellent leadership. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

Understanding Sun Tzu's Book 'The Art of War'- Full Documentary

01:31:27
Understanding Sun Tzu's - Full Documentary Few writers from ancient times enjoy the same level of recognition as Sun Tzu, the famous philosopher and general from ancient China. Quotes from his timeless treatise the "Art of War" appear in popular culture and the whole book is frequently studied by business and military students around the world. Sun Tzu's "Art of War" presents thirteen chapters that describe how to factor in all important variables when trying to win a conflict. The principles can be applied to military problems as well as the challenges of the marketplace or even personal struggles. The precise dates of the birth and death of Sun Tzu are not known, but history has verified his existence around the year 500 B.C.E. in China. Born of Sun Ping, a senior military officer in the state of Qi, Sun Tzu grew up with an education focusing on military affairs. At the time, it was common for Chinese generals to write about their philosophies of war, but it has been the work of Sun Tzu that has survived the ages. What made his "Art of War" so compelling that it is quite literally still in print 2,500 years after it was first inked onto strips of bamboo? Part of the resilience of Sun Tzu's ideas comes from his success as a general. Ancient China was a complex chessboard of highly civilized yet warring states, and Sun Tzu enjoyed a respectable career within this challenging environment. Sun Tzu was in the employ of He Lu, the ruler of the state of Wu, who made him a general of the kingdom. In this role, Sun Tzu participated in numerous campaigns. His successes included the destruction of the Yue state, the territorial expansion of Wu, and the occupation of the city of Ying. His successful application of his strategic thinking surely lent his literary work strength. His "Art of War" is not limited to narrow military concepts such as positioning soldiers on the field. Sun Tzu took into account all the forces acting upon a state. War is a tool of the state, and as Sun Tzu wrote, "War is a matter of vital importance to the state; a matter of life or death, the road either to survival or to ruin." But this crucial element of state power could not operate independently of diplomacy, politics, economics, geography, and philosophy. Each chapter in the "Art of War" explores these and other factors in detail and teaches that the application of military force must be used with a multidisciplinary approach. Geography is certainly given great emphasis because the actual land that is being fought over underpins military strategy, but it is not the sole consideration for a general. Among the many sage pieces of advice that one can take away from the "Art of War" is Sun Tzu's insistence that war should not be started hastily, with optimistic assumptions, or without good intelligence. The stakes in war are too high for the state to lose, so therefore it must only employ its military tools when it can achieve victory. The economics of warfare is repeatedly stressed by Sun Tzu because of the heavy toll that maintaining an army in the field extracts from its society. War should not be the first tool that a state uses to gain its desired outcomes because it is so expensive. In Sun Tzu's final chapter of his book, he opens with a statement that rings very true today as my own country, the United States, finds itself financing a prolonged war. From Chapter 13 "Use of Spies" Sun Tzu wrote: "Now, when an army of one hundred thousand is raised and dispatched on a distant campaign, the expenses borne by the people together with disbursements of the treasury will amount to a thousand pieces of gold daily. In addition, there will be continuous commotion both at home and abroad, people will be exhausted by the corvee of transport, and the farm work of seven hundred thousand households will be disrupted." What is RFID? How RFID works? RFID Explained in Detail

10:10
In this video, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Technolgy has been explained. So, in this video, what is RFID, what is inside this RFID system, how RFID works, and application of RFID have been explained. What is RFID? RFID is technology which works on radio frequency and it is used for the auto-identification for the different object. The RFID system mainly consists of two parts. 1) RFID Reader or Interrogator 2) RFID Tags In this RFID system, this RFID reader continuously sends radio waves of a particular frequency. If the object, on which this RFID tag is attached is within the range of this radio waves then it sends the feedback back to this RFID reader. And based on this feedback, RFID reader identifies the object. RFID tags: Now, three different kinds of RFID tags are commercially available. 1) Passive tags 2) Active tags 3) Semi-passive tags These passive tags do not have any power supply. They used to get their power from the incoming radio waves from the Readers. While active tags have a power source for their internal circuitries. And for sending the response to the reader also, it uses its own power supply. In the case of semi-passive tags, they have a power supply for internal circuitries, but for sending the response it relies on the radio waves received from the Reader. Operating Frequency: This RFID system is mainly operated in three frequency bands. 1) LF: Low-Frequency band 2) HF: High-Frequency band 3) UHF: Ultra High-Frequency band The exact frequency of operation varies from country to country. Operating Principles: Most of the RFID systems operate on any of this two principles. 1) Load Modulation 2) Backscattered Modulations Applications of RFID: 1. Institutions: Library, Hospitals, Schools, and Colleges 2. Transportation and Logistics 3. Access Control 4. Sports 5. Animal Tracking Timestamps for the different topics in the video is given below: 0:40 What is RFID? 1:56 What is inside this RFID chip? 4:42 Operating Frequencies for the RFID Systems 5:27 Working Principle of RFID Systems This video will be helpful to everyone in understanding the concept of RFID Technology. Syracuse University Falk College Sport Analytics, BS

03:03
Falk College launches the first U.S. Undergraduate Degree in Sport Analytics. With growing numbers of sport organizations embracing data analytics' powerful role in understanding and prioritizing information to maintain a competitive advantage, there is increasing demand for sport analytics professionals to guide data-driven decision making. Syracuse University's Falk College today announced a new Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sport Analytics-the first of its kind in the country-to provide students with a deep understanding of math, statistics, research methodology, sport economics, database management, finance, and computer programming integral to sport analytics. "Upon graduation, students will be prepared to think conceptually and analytically while applying these principles to real issues in sport organizations," notes Professor Rodney Paul, a sports economist who led the collaborative development of the new degree. "Our program prepares students for a variety of different possible analytics career paths on the player evaluation side, business side, or both." The new degree incorporates a mandatory foreign language requirement to prepare students for the global sport industry. "Sport industry executives repeatedly tell us that students who are bilingual are highly sought after, especially in growth areas including South America, China and India," says Falk College Dean Diane Lyden Murphy. The announcement of the new degree follows a two-year process of analyzing changes in the industry, including in-depth interviews with senior-level sport executives and practitioners, in careful consultation with Falk College's Sport Management Advisory Board made up of company presidents, founders, CEOs and other top-level executives. According to Falk College benefactor and Sport Management Advisory Board member, David B. Falk, Founder and CEO, FAME, "analytics have become an invaluable tool not only in analyzing player performance but also in evaluating the effectiveness and reach of sports sponsorships and advertising. In the second decade of the 21st century, it is almost inconceivable that a sports organization could operate successfully or efficiently without a strong analytics capability." Adds Nick Carparelli, Jr., Senior Director, College Sports, UNDER ARMOUR® who sits on Falk College's Sport Management Advisory Board,"the process of making sound business choices always starts with investigation and research. Effectively analyzing data, whether it be information about purchase intent from our consumers or a marketing evaluation on a prospective partner, is a critical next step in any decision making process. The amount of data and information available to us continues to grow, and the ability to process and understand that information is a necessary skill set in our industry." To date, several undergraduate sport management students have worked on analytics research projects through courses and participation in the Syracuse University Baseball Statistics and Sabermetrics Club, which is advised by Dr. Paul. Dr. Paul and sport management students Matt Filippi '15, Greg Ackerman '15, and Zack Albright '15 co-authored research that was a poster presentation at the 2014 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston. Their paper, "The Effects of Atmospheric Conditions on Pitchers," studied the impact of air density on pitch selection and pitcher performance. This research was also the focus of an article in ESPN The Magazine. Sports research by Dr. Paul and students has also been presented at the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR) Analytics conference and published in academic journals. Groups of students regularly participate in the Diamond Dollars Case Competitions in Phoenix and New York City. "Increasingly, analytics are an integral part of many of our content offerings, both in the linear and digital space. As sports teams and leagues invest in analytics, it will create and drive content. The fact that Falk College is introducing a degree in analytics will accelerate the use and sophistication of analytics in all facets of the sports industry," says John Wildhack, Executive Vice President, Programming and Production, ESPN. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the job market for various data analyst disciplines is growing at 27 percent annually, far exceeding the national job growth average of 11 percent. The sport industry is the fifth largest economic sector in the U.S. economy, generating slightly less than $500 billion in 2014-15. "The future growth of sports domestically and globally will be carefully measured through detailed and comprehensive analytic evaluation," says Michael Veley, the Rhonda S. Falk Endowed Professor of Sport Management and Director of the Department of Sport Management.

Balancing AO Principles in Calcaneus Fractures

56:08
The calcaneus, also known as the heel bone, is responsible for transmitting the majority of the body's weight from the talus bone to the ground. Nearly every aspect of the management of complex calcaneus fractures is controversial. The anatomy of the calcaneus is complicated and treatment of fractures in this bone requires a comprehensive understanding of its anatomy, common fracture patterns, and displacement. An accurate reduction is essential to good patient outcomes. Treatment options include closed management, an extensile lateral open approach and the mini-open technique. This presentation highlights the indications for each technique, compares and contrasts their strengths and weaknesses, and provides case examples with discussion from some of the leaders in the field of calcaneus fracture management. Agile Sports Analytics Application: Winning Championships Just Got Easier!

02:01
https://www.agilesportsanlaytics.com (888) 861-8733 The Future of Sports Analytics and Team Strategy Execution is Here! Do your players Fail to Execute Your Game Plan and Play with Synergy? Wish you could Get the Most Out of Every Player…every game? If you answered “Yes” to Any of These Questions, then Read On! Because I’m about to reveal to you an exciting sports management and analytics solution that is like fantasy sports, but for players and coaches. It is based off principles used by thousands of successful teams across the world to deliver results and crush their competition. And it is ready for beta testing now! This first of it’s kind system can be adopted for every team sport and yield success at every competitive level. And this proven process can be leveraged into a highly profitable business. It’s a COMPLETE GAME CHANGER in the analytics industry, which is expected to grow from $768 million in 2016 to $15 BILLION by 2023 (September 2017 report by Wintergreen Research Inc) You Can Join Me in This Massive Growth, At Ground Level... And I’ve Taken All the Risks! But first, let me explain to you why it’s a challenge for most coaches to acquire the right talent and get them to execute their strategy and win championships, and how my product makes these challenges a thing of the past. Sports data is increasing at a staggering pace. Teams are SCRAMBLING to discover how to maximize their analytic programs and increase player value. And significant growth in analytics has created new opportunities to improve coaching, improve player performance and leverage mobile devices to engage player response. It truly is an exciting time for sports and achieving peak performance! The problem is… salary caps have skyrocketed and teams are sinking $100s of millions on players who are not adding commensurate value (and with legalized gambling, contracts are sure to keep rising). teams do not have a process to effectively manage the growth of data and their advanced analytics programs. analytics are not being translated for the players responsible for delivering the results. and fans are demanding more synergistic team play that aligns with the play of championship teams like the Golden State Warriors, New England Patriots and Washington Capitals. Teams must stop wasting money on high priced players, fancy training facilities and expensive software applications when what is REALLY KEEPING THEM from becoming a championship team is: • The lack of an effective, turnkey system that drives player results • Failure to execute the coach’s strategy • Ineffective performance metrics • Choosing the wrong sports intelligence tools • And nobody to tell them EXACTLY how to create a championship team What do great coaches like Mike Krzyzewski, Bill Belichick, Geno Auriemma and Nick Saban have in common? They know how to get players to buy into and execute their strategies. And they understand how to get the most value out of every one of their players. It’s no secret that the sports industry desperately needs a framework that enables teams to measure player value, translate complex metrics into player results and teaches players how to create value based on the coach’s strategy and team goals. Imagine how successful teams would be if the coach, analyst, players, assistant coaches, scouts and management had a proven process for reaching goals fast. What if they knew THE EXACT steps to help players maximize value, execute strategy and reach goals. Hi, my name is Victor Holman, founder of Agile Sports Analytics and the application I’m about to share with you will change the way teams approach data and analytics. It evaluates team’s performance strengths, cost savings opportunities, areas for immediate and long-term improvements and ways players can add value and help the team win games immediately. It makes players EAGER to execute the coach’s game plan. I’ve taken the best practices and processes that have made many of my clients successful, and integrated them into a system ANY sports team can fully implement…in as little as 5 games! Introducing… The Agile Sports Analytics Application The first sports analytics and management system that measures player value, builds player IQ and increases team synergy. The Agile Sports Framework leverages performance management principals and systems development processes used by thousands of successful business teams, to build a winning sports team and dominate their competition. Many strategist have attempted, but NONE have succeeded…until now! Agile Sports Framework Agile Sports Framework What Makes Agile Sports Analytics superior to other stat tools on the Market?
