Floated DIV order in CSS (document flow)

03:41
This short, off-the-cuff video is showing how the order of DIVs (and other elements) in HTML, don't necessarily appear in the order you would expect! Here I show you some floated DIV elements, and how the order seems counter-intuitive... until you realise how floats work. This is, by no means, a finished work or a thorough explanation - I just thought to share my newly discovered knowledge with you.

Breaking divs with float and clear properties in html and css - How do they work?

06:59
How to break a parent div with child divs inside using clear and float attributes in html and css - by Learning Simplified ====================================================== In this tutorial, we have recapped one of our previous tutorial on how to break a parent div into its child divs with float and clear attributes. It is preparing the divs which we started this tutorial series with and we will create the form field here in the template. That is why we need to create space and in this context we have produced this tutorial as a recapitulation of the older one. We are practically very close to the end of this series and will start soon with our next segment which includes Mobile responsiveness. After we show how to create divs here, we will witness the process of creating the customized and animated form field in our next tutorial. Why Learning this div manipulation so badly? In creating a site, it is often seen as a common mistake keeping the divs afloat without binding them inside a wrapper. This is a problem as in some old versions of browsers it is seen that the bottom content comes up to the top, overlaying each other. In some instances, same problem is observed in the newer or latest versions too. To avoid such hazards, you need to bind them up into a common one. Hope to see you in the next tutorial where I have discussed about creating and customizing the form fields and provide some animation into it. ================================================== Stay tuned to our channel to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNBuByD9iIgqElwmIIqoIiA ===================================================== Watch for relevant blogs at : http://learnsimple1987.blogspot.in/ ===================================================== Our G+ profile is at: https://plus.google.com/u/0/b/108616648678138902856/108616648678138902856 ===================================================== Twit us at: https://twitter.com/learnmaniac1987 ===================================================== watch us at facebook : https://www.facebook.com/learnmaniac1987/ ====================================================== If you liked our video, do not hesitate to hit that Red Subscribe Button to SUBSCRIBE us and stay tuned for more. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "JavaScript Tutorial for Beginners #12- Make a Basic Calculator" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0rmLwq4nto -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

HTML Tutorial — Elements (2/11)

04:44
HTML Tutorial — Elements (2/11) https://www.colorcode.io/course/html-basics/elements Every HTML page is made up of these things called elements, or tags or nodes. They’re all referring to the same thing. Pretty much. Which are these building blocks that you put together to create an HTML page. That simple. They’re like bricks you put on top of each other to build a wall. But don’t... build a wall, cuz that’s stupid. Look at GQ, or pretty much any other page on the internet. THIS. is a block, so is this, so is this. Pretty soon you’ll start to notice clear separations between different pieces of a page. Chances are those are built using separate HTML elements. There are a lot of different kinds of elements. So the first one I wanna show you is the P tag. Paragraph. It’s used as a building block to create a paragraph. All elements are created the same way. You do a left arrow and then a right arrow and put your tag name in between. P. This is called your opening tag. You also need a closing tag which is exactly the same as the opening tag with an extra slash. Like this /p. So you end up with an opening tag, and a closing tag. Anything you put between these becomes a paragraph. Becomes the thing that the browser will actually show to the end user. So the same way we added text inside your element, you can also include elements inside other elements but we’ll get to that later. So a couple of things: Do not forget to close your tags. When you open it, you close it. Needless to say, when you open it using h1 you need to close it using h1 as well. So the opening and closing need to match. Also, the tag name is not case sensitive, which means it can be H1, but no one really does that so try to be consistent, keep it to lowercase. These are some of the tags that are available to you: p for paragraphs h1,2,3,4,5,6 for Headings from big to small a anchor tags for links from page to page button button tag will create a button for you ul unordered lists ol aaaaand ordered lists li list items img images video video audio audio div span for layouts and containers header footer nav for navigation menus script, style and link to load JavaScript and CSS into your page There’s even more and I will walk you through some of them. But that’s pretty much what HTML tags are. I think we’re getting somewhere. Stick around, it’s only starting to get cool.

CSS3 Tutorial for Beginners: 34 Absolute Positioning Element (Div)

03:46
CSS3 Tutorial for Beginners: 34 Absolute Positioning Element (Div) ★ SUMMARY ★ Today we’re going to take a look at the absolute position property when it comes to your website. The absolute property allows you to position elements in a very specific place of your website, in a relationship with the top, bottom, left or right of the screen, without letting other elements affect the flow of that element. Once an element is positioned using the absolute property, it will always have the same position on your website, without getting affected by the elements around it. In this video, you’re going to take a look at how the Absolute position property works, and I’ll give you some examples of it, so that you can learn how to use it on your own website, within your CSS code. What is Absolute Positioning in CSS

00:50
Follow this step by step guide to learn what is absolute positioning in css Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ Here we'll learn about css absolute positioning. There might be some elements in CSS that need to be placed based on the position of your browser. These elements are mostly used, when you want to pad them, according to the current state, and position of the browser. You can handle such behavior using absolute positioning in CSS properties. Step # 1 -- Attaching HTML elements to support absolute position Let's get started with creating HTML div. Assign this div an id, so it can be attached to a css style. Here the id is absQuad. This will be used for absolute positioning later. Step # 2 -- Attaching the css style for absolute position In the next step, attach css properties of background color, so it's specified, width, height can form a quad object, for the distance you want attach top, and left. Now, set the position attribute to absolute, to restrict it to browser container Step # 3 -- Demonstrating absolute position Now save the file, and double click on it to view it in browser. You will see a quadrilateral div, positioned on the left-value padding from the x-axis, and top-value padding from the y-axis of the browser. That's the effects of css absolute positioning.

15 div si span

06:21

Display settings (block, inline-block, inline, and flex) - Web design tutorial

02:55
In Webflow (and web design generally), the display setting you set an element determines its behavior in a layout. Generally speaking, elements either stack on top of each other (vertically) or lay out side by side (horizontally), depending on what display setting is used. The beauty is that you can change the display of any element. In this video, we’ll be covering the five display settings available: 1. Block 2. Inline-block 3. Inline 4. Flex 5. None ---------- Get started with Webflow: https://help.webflow.com/courses/getting-started http://webflow.com http://twitter.com/webflow http://facebook.com/webflow

Bootstrap Grid System

10:38
bootstrap 3 grid example bootstrap 3 grid system bootstrap 3 columns layout bootstrap grid system example bootstrap 3 page layout bootstrap page layout examples bootstrap 3 layout examples bootstrap page layout tutorial bootstrap grid layout tutorial bootstrap column layout how to use bootstrap 3 grid system In this video we will discuss, How to create page layouts using bootstrap grid system. One of the very important concept that we need to understand in Bootstrap is it's Grid System. The Grid system is used for creating page layouts through a series of rows and columns. The Grid System consists of 12 columns. This grid system is so flexible that you can create any page layout that you want. Let us now see how to create a 3 column layout using the Bootstrap Grid System. The page should be divided into 3 columns with 1:4:1 ratio. One important thing to keep in mind here is that, if we add the 3 numbers in the ratio (1:4:1), the sum should be equal to 12, because the bootstrap grid system consists of 12 columns. This means if the LEFT SIDE BAR column is 2 units, the MAIN CONTENT AREA column should be 8 units and the RIGHT SIDE BAR column should be 2 units. So when we add these 3 numbers (2 Units + 8 Units + 2 Units), we get 12 units. Bootstrap includes several grid classes for creating layouts for different devices like mobile phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, etc. The table below shows the available bootstrap grid classes that you can use to create grid column layouts ranging from extra small devices like mobile phones to large devices like large desktop screens. We will discuss these different classes in detail with examples in a later video. For now let's use .col-md-* class to create a 3 column layout. There are 3 simple steps to create the 3 column layout that we want, using the bootstrap 12 column grid system 1. First, create a container. We do this by creating a [div] element using the bootstrap .container class. All the rows will be within this container. 2. Second, create a row within the container. We do this by creating a [div] element using the bootstrap .row class. 3. Finally within the row we create the 3 columns that we need. We do this by creating [div] elements using any of the bootstrap grid classes (.col-xs-*, .col-sm-*, .col-md-* & .col-lg-*). In this example we are using col-xs-* class. Please note that here I am also using a custom class (.customDiv) to apply some custom styles to each of the div elements. [div class="container"] [div class="row"] [div class="col-md-2"] [div class="customDiv"]LEFT SIDE BAR[/div] [/div] [div class="col-md-8"] [div class="customDiv"]MAIN CONTENT AREA[/div] [/div] [div class="col-md-2"] [div class="customDiv"]RIGHT SIDE BAR[/div] [/div] [/div] [/div] Here is the definition of the custom css class (.customDiv) .customDiv{ margin:3px; min-height:300px; background-color:silver; text-align:center; font-size:large } I have created this class in a stylesheet that I named CustomStyles.css. I have placed this in the root folder of the project. Some important points to keep in mind when working with the bootstrap grid system to create page layouts 1. Rows must be placed within a container for proper alignment and padding. 2. Use rows to create horizontal groups of columns. 3. Content should be placed within columns, and only columns may be immediate children of rows. 4. If more than 12 columns are placed within a single row, each group of extra columns will, as one unit, wrap onto a new line. 5. Grid columns are created by specifying the number of twelve available columns you wish to span. For example, to create four equal columns we would use four .col-xs-3. DIV, Float, Margin in your WordPress blog

Create extra DIVS in your WordPress blog. DIVS are like blocks and in this video styling of DIVS are shown. Styling as Margin, Float, Clear both are shown with text. This in-page styling doesn't use any programs or plugins. Just type in the edit part, (where you always type your blog). On the right hand top corner there is the choice of visual / text. For styling, switch over to text. Here the used styling is shown and the new styling added. WordPress itself already uses padding for indenting text, justify for outlining text. Span and colors to give color to text. But there is much more code which can be used here. And it is simple. Most of the used code is printed as text on my website: http://meijwebdesign.nl

Josquin Des Prez: Mirabilia testimonia

09:48
Perhaps a native of the Vermandois region of Picardy, he was a singer at Milan Cathedral in 1459, remaining there until December 1472. By July 1474 he was one of the 'cantori di capella' in the chapel of Galeazzo Maria Sforza. Between 1476 and 1504 he passed into the service of Cardinal Ascanio Sforza, whom he probably accompanied in Rome in 1484. His name first appears among the papal chapel choir in 1486 and recurs sporadically; he had left the choir by 1501. In this Italian period Josquin reached artistic maturity. He then went to France (he may also have done so while at the papal chapel) and probably served Louis XII's court. Although he may have had connections with the Ferrara court (through the Sforzas) in the 1480s and 1490s, no formal relationship with the court is known before 1503 when, for a year, he was maestro di cappella there and the highest-paid singer in the chapel's history. There he probably wrote primarily masses and motets. An outbreak of plague in 1503 forced the court to leave Ferrara (Josquin's place was taken by Obrecht, who fell victim in 1505). He was in the north again, at Notre Dame at Condé, in 1504; he may have been connected with Margaret of Austria's court, 1508-11. He died in 1521. Several portraits survive, one attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. Josquin's works gradually became known throughout western Europe and were regarded as models by many composers and theorists. Petrucci's three books of his masses (1502-14) reflect contemporary esteem, as does Attaingnant's collection of his chansons (1550). Several laments were written on his death (including Gombert's elegy Musae Jovis), and as late as 1554 Jacquet of Mantua paid him tribute in a motet. He was praised by 16th-century literary figures (including Castiglione and Rabelais) and was Martin Luther's favourite composer. Josquin was the greatest composer of the high Renaissance, the most varied in invention and the most profound in expression. Much of his music cannot be dated. Generally, however, his first period (up to circa 1485) is characterized by abstract, melismatic counterpoint in the manner of Ockeghem and by tenuous relationships between words and music. The middle period (to circa 1505) saw the development and perfection of the technique of pervasive imitation based on word-generated motifs. This style has been seen as a synthesis of two traditions: the northem polyphony of Dufay, Busnois and Ockeghem, in which he presumably had his earliest training, and the more chordal, harmonically orientated practice of Italy. In the final period the relationship between word and note becomes even closer and there is increasing emphasis on declamation and rhetorical expression within a style of the utmost economy. His many motets span all three periods. One of the earliest, the four-part Victimae paschali laudes (1502), exemplifies his early style, with its dense texture, lack of imitation, patches of stagnant rhythm and rudimentary treatment of dissonance. Greater maturity is shown in Planxit autem David, in which homophonic and freely imitative passages alternate, and in Absalon, fili mi, with its flexible combination of textures. His later motets, such as In principio erat verbum, combine motivic intensity and melodic succinctness with formal clarity; they are either freely composed, four-part settings of biblical texts, or large-scale cantus firmus pieces. Transparent textures and duet writing are common. Josquin's 18 complete masses combine elements of cantus firmus, parody and paraphrase techniques. One of the earliest, L'ami Baudichon, is a cantus firmus mass on a simple dance formula; the simplicity of melody and rhythm and the clarity of harmony and texture recall the Burgundian style of the 1450s and 1460s. Fortuna desperata, on the other hand, is an early example of parody. Canonic writing and ostinato hgures are features. His last great masses, notably the Missa de beata virgine and the Missa 'Pange lingua' were preceded by works in which every resource is deployed with bravura. Josquin's secular music comprises three settings of Italian texts and numerous chansons. One of the earliest, Cela sans plus, typifies his observance of the formes fixes and the influences of the Burgundian style of Busnois and Ockeghem. Later works, such as Mille regretz, are less canonic, the clear articulation of line and points of imitation achieved by a carefull balanced hierarchy of cadences. Some, like Si j'ay perdu mon ami, look forward to the popular 'Parisian' chanson of Janequin.

Josquin Des Prez: Miserere mei Deus

18:52
MARK LEVIN EXPLAINS WHY THE LEFT HATE JOHN BOLTON

06:10
The left's media pundits have viciously conveyed their unequivocal dislike for John Bolton's nomination by President Trump as national security adviser.  No epithet has been omitted in characterizing his political views and opinions.  They call Bolton a war hawk, the second most dangerous man in the Washington, and a pusher for a preventive strike against Iran and North Korea nuclear facilities.  Interestingly enough, the Lebanese newspaper al-Akhbar, associated with Hezb'allah, called him a "zionist hawk."  Not for the first time, leftist media viewpoints are somehow aligned with direct enemies of the West.  Should any military action occur during Bolton's incumbency, they would eagerly pin him with a "war criminal" label. Amid all the attacks, the left missed the boat on three significant points. 1️⃣ Firstly, Bolton has tremendous experience in international matters and enjoys a high level of respect from his colleagues.  During the Reagan and George H. W. Bush administrations, he worked for the State Department, the Justice Department, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.  His government service included such positions as undersecretary of state, assistant attorney general, and U.S. ambassador to the U.N., each marked by multiple achievements.  John Bolton's qualifications for the job are outstanding, to say the least. 2️⃣️ Secondly, the opinions expressed by Bolton through various media outlets over time, branded by his opponents as overly hawkish, would not necessarily be carried through into his decision-making and actions as national security adviser, given his vast experience in the diplomatic arena.  Even CNN stated that "his past comments are now behind him." 3️⃣ And last but not least, just a few weeks back, left-wing "pacifists" were greatly outraged by President Trump's accepting a proposal for a direct meeting with Kim Jong-un.  Immediately after the announcement, New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof called it "a dangerous gamble and a bad idea."  Paul Waldman from the Denver Post was "trying to imagine" what would Republicans would have said if Hillary had been elected the POTUS and decided to meet with Kim: "[t]hey [the Republicans]'d say that North Korea can't be trusted, because it has made agreements in the past to restrict its nuclear program and then cheated.  They'd say that she was being naive, getting snookered by someone who's obviously more clever than she."  Well, I don't have any doubts that Kim is more clever than she.  Secretary of state Clinton failed to save the lives of our ambassador to Libya and three other Americans in September 2012, with all the sovereign power of the U.S. at her disposal. So when Trump agrees to meet the North Korean leader for direct talks rather than contemplating an attack on his nation's nuclear facilities, it's a "bad idea."  When the president nominates John Bolton, known as being a diplomatic tough guy, as his national security adviser, it's a terrible idea as well.  So the question is, should we or should we not manifest a forceful and realistic approach to the dangers of a potential nuclear strike against us and our allies?  Simple logic is not the strongest feature of the left, but could leftists at least make a clear choice?
