This tutorial series is part of SQL expert exam certification training. if you are preparing for SQL certification you can use my tutorials. This SQL Tutorial is a part of free training. We can also say that SQL tables are kind of data structure which are used by database for efficient storage of data. To create a table in our database we use SQL CREATE TABLE command. SQL CREATE TABLE is a type of DATA DEFINITION LANGUAGE also known as DDL. To Create a table in your schema you will require CREATE TABLE system privilege. In our future videos we will see what are system and object privileges and how to grant them to a user. Today for this video we will be using Sample schema HR which already has all the necessary privileges. Ohk Let's see the syntax. CREATE TABLE table name ( column name1 Data-Type(size), column name2 Data-Type(size), ..... ); CREATE TABLE is an oracle reserved word or say an Oracle key word whereas There are 3 different ways of creating a table in Oracle database. Creating a table using Command Line Interface (CLI) in Oracle database For demonstrating how to create table in oracle database using CLI, I'll be using Command prompt. Thats how we create table using command prompt. you can check your table structure by DESCRIBE command for that just write DESC and your table name. Like this Another way of creating a table is by using Graphic user interface (GUI) in Oracle database To demonstrate how to create table using GUI we will use SQL developer. Lets open our SQL developer I am connected to HR schema if you do not know how to create a connection to database using SQL developer please watch my oracle database tutorial 4 that explains database connectivity using SQL developer and command prompt. Link for this video is in the description below. So lets create a table. Creating a table using SQL developer is very easy we do not have to fire any query here. Let's start First of all right click on your connection in which you want to create a table and choose schema browser. This will open a separate schema browser pane or you can expend your connection by clicking this + sign and then right click on table and choose New Table. However I prefer working with schema browser so let's skip to schema browser pane here from the first drop-down list you can choose connection name and in the second drop down list you can choose what database objects you want to work with we want to create a table thus I'll choose table and then click this arrow here and choose option for new table Ok we have created a table wizard first of all give a unique name to your table and add some column as well. For this, click the green plus button. Now we already have a column so give it some name. Also choose a datatype from the list and specify any size you can check this not null column if in case you want to make this a mandatory column you can also specify default value and constraint If you want to make this column a primary key you can click here In my future video i'll show you what are these constraints and different ways of applying them on a column in a table. for this video we will concentrate on create table only so when you are done with all your columns click ok Thats your table You can double click on your table here and can see its structure. Thats it

How to Set Environment Variables in Linux

00:56
Follow this tutorial to learn how to set shell environment variables in a Linux operating system like Ubuntu. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this tutorial, you will learn how to set environment variables in linux. Linux based operating systems use bash shell. The shell environment variables are used for several purposes, from storing data, storing software configurations, set terminal settings, and changing shell environment. The environment variables are normally created by the operating system during installation, or by different software as per the required need. Apart from that, in linux, to set environment variables, we first need to access the terminal application. That's because the user has the privilege to add, edit, and remove different variables at will. Step # 1 -- All variables on terminal In linux, to set environment variables we first need to access shell environment variables. For that, we will need to open the terminal by searching for it in the applications menu, or selecting it from the dock on the left. Once the terminal is opened up, to check for all environment variables, type the set command and press enter. This will list all the environment variables stored in the shell. Step # 2 -- One variable at a time The amount of these variables can become a very long list and locating one specific variable can become a tough task. Fortunately Linux allows us to display the value of one shell variable by using the echo command along with the name of the variable. This makes the task very easy. Step # 3 -- Changing a variable Now, to add or modify an environment variable, we can use the export command followed by the name of the variable and the values that go with it. Multiple values for a variable need to be separated by a colon. The colon indicates to the operating system that one value has ended and another has begun. The variables can be created and removed from the shell easily, and can be done whenever required. But changing important variables may mess with the operating system's functionalities so it's important to be careful. And that's basically all you need to know for how to set environment variables in Linux.

Java Tutorial - Compiling and Running Java Programs using Command Prompt and Unix Terminal

05:01
Watch in 1080p HD for optimal clarity! All commands used are listed below for your convenience. In this video I demonstrate through the use of screen captures and narration how to compile and run Java programs using the Windows Command Prompt and the Ubuntu Unix Terminal. No IDE is required for the compilation and execution process - compilation and execution can be performed via the Command Prompt and the Terminal. I'll also demonstrate how to install and set up the Oracle Java Development Kit (JDK) on Windows and Ubuntu systems, as well explain briefly what a JDK is. To compile and run Java programs, we require the Java Compiler, the Java Virtual Machine and the Java Standard Library, all of which are included in the JDK, hence the JDK is absolutely essential for our purposes. How to Set a Path in Linux

00:54
Follow this step by step tutorial to learn how to set a directory as a path by using the terminal application present in Linux. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ In this tutorial we will show you how to set a path in Linux. It is an environment variable through which you can specify the directory in which program files are located. Setting the path in Linux is not a tedious task and can be done in a short span of time. Step 1 -- Select the Home Folder icon First of all, in the launcher click on the Home Folder icon. With that done, here you will see two directories are placed here, namely dir1 and dir2. Step 2 -- Enter command in terminal application Now we are going to set dir1 as a path, and for that we will open up the terminal application by pressing ctrl+alt+T. With the terminal application opened up, type "export PATH=$PATH:/dir1" and hit enter. This will export the dir1 address to the hidden directory that is, $PATH. This way you can easily set a path in Linux. Step 3 -- View the path If you want to view where the path is set, type the command echo $PATH and hit enter. This will show you the exact directory path. And that's it, by following the steps above you will learn that setting a path in Linux can be done easily.

How to Set and Check Classpath in Linux

01:05
Follow this easy step by step tutorial to learn about classpath and how to set classpath in Linux. Don't forget to check out our site http://howtech.tv/ for more free how-to videos! http://youtube.com/ithowtovids - our feed http://www.facebook.com/howtechtv - join us on facebook https://plus.google.com/103440382717658277879 - our group in Google+ A Classpath is a variable that contains the location of user defined classes in Java. This location is usually useful for Java compilers. In Linux, the classpath can be configured through terminal application, whereas in Windows environment, these values can be changed through environment variables. In this tutorial we will guide you on how to set classpath in linux. Step#1: Access Classpath First of all, let's check for the class path over here, and for that, let's open up the terminal and type in echo $ {CLASSPATH} This command will basically print the linux classpath value in the command prompt. There is no response, and nothing is printed on the screen, which means that no classpath has been currently set in Linux. Step#2: Update Classpath To set the classpath, type the command export CLASSPATH=/root/java and enter. By using the export command over here, we can set the class path for Java in a Linux or UNIX environment directly from the command prompt. Now when we check for the class path, you will see that we have successfully set the classpath in Linux, and that the classpath value is displayed on the screen here. And that completes this tutorial on how to set classpath in Linux.

HOW TO SET JAVA_HOME ON MAC OS X | Nanhe Kumar

02:29
Mac OS X First, let's verify the Java version by executing the java -version command in your terminal. If you either have an older Java version or don't have Java installed, go to the following Oracle site and download the JDK in the .dmg format. Accept the license agreement before you can download the dmg file: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads2133151.html Once you install Java using the dmg file, verify that JAVA_HOME is set by executing the following command in a terminal: echo $JAVA_HOME If JAVA_HOME is not set or is pointing to the directory with an older Java version, you can update your JAVA_HOME system variable by following these steps: 1. Open your terminal, and open your .bash_profile file by executing vi ~/.bash_profile. 2. You can edit the file by pressing the letter i. 3. In the file, set the JAVA_HOME environment variable by adding the following to the end of the file: export JAVA_HOME="/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_121.jdk/Contents/Home" export PATH="$JAVA_HOME/bin:$PATH" 4. Save and exit by pressing the ESC key and entering :wq. 5. Close and reopen your terminal to update the environment variables. 6. Verify JAVA_HOME by executing echo $JAVA_HOME.
