Energy From Sea - Sources of Energy (Chapter 16): CBSE Class 10 Science

08:29
Energy From Sea - Sources of Energy (Chapter 16): CBSE Class 10 Science. Here we discuss the topic Energy from Sea from Source of Energy CBSE Class 10 Science. In this video, we focus on how we can produce energy from the sea. There are mainly three (3) ways to produce energy from the sea. It also called as a form of energy or techniques to produce energy from the sea. 1. Tidal energy 2. Wave energy 3. Ocean thermal energy These are renewable energy and also a Non-conventional source of energy. Tidal energy: For derived tidal energy, we first need to understand “tide” We can describe it as, Due to the gravitational force of moon and sun to sudden extent level of water in ocean changes twice a day. In this type, the reservoir is constructed near the ocean. Between ocean and reservoir, there is a barrier. In the barrier, there is a motor which is connected with a dynamo. Because of the different level of water in both side, when high tide or low tide happens the water pass through motor thus the dynamo generate the electricity. Wave energy: For this, we first need to understand “waves'. Waves are generated in oceans due to winds over the surface of the ocean. In this type, apparatus is constructed in the ocean. In which rotor is connected with a dynamo. So when waves happen in water than rotor make rotations, so dynamo produce energy from it. Ocean thermal energy: For effective use of ocean thermal energy to produce electricity. The temperature difference between the top and the bottom of the ocean water should be 20° C. In this type, liquid ammonia is used. It is a volatile liquid. To convert it into the gas we use the ocean’s top water which is hot. Now the gas is projected to the rotor which is connected with a dynamo. From that dynamo produce electricity. Again convert this gas into liquid we use cold water of ocean from the bottom of it. And so on process continues. All the above-mentioned topics are described in an interactive and efficient manner so that the students could easily understand them. 10 Biggest Sea Dinosaurs That Ever Existed on Earth

11:23
Whatever lives in the sea nowadays can't be compared with the huge monsters that dominated the depths millions of years ago. And by “monsters” we mean long-extinct marine reptiles and dinosaurs. Since many people are better acquainted with the land-roaming giants of the past, this video will open your eyes to those that ruled the waters! Did you know, for example, that pliosauruses were real giants, with the largest species weighing more than 30 tons and growing up to 40 feet long? Also, this animal had an incredibly strong bite. In fact, it was four times more powerful than that of the mighty T-rex! TIMESTAMPS: Pliosaurus 1:14 Kronosaurus 2:15 Nothosaurus 3:07 Styxosaurus 4:10 Albertonectes 5:15 Thalassomedon 6:16 Tylosaurus 7:23 Shonisaurus 8:07 Mosasaurus 9:00 Shastasaurus 9:53 #dinosaurs #prehistoricanimals #seacreatures Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The largest Kronosaurus ever found was 34 feet long from snout to tail and likely weighed about 12 tons. This marine reptile’s teeth weren't really deadly; they were only a few inches long and not all that sharp. - . Some experts state that Nothosauruses could snap their long heads sideways to catch a passing fish, kinda like how a crocodile does. Surprisingly, researchers say that these reptiles shared a lot of similar features with the modern sea lion. - The Styxosaurus belonged to the Plesiosaur family and lived during the Late Cretaceous Period, around 85 to 70 million years ago. Styxosauruses were about 35 feet in length, but over 16 feet of that consisted just of their long snake-like neck! They had a comparatively small body and weighed approximately 4 tons. - The Albertonectes was another representative of the Plesiosaur family, meaning that this marine reptile had a small head on an incredibly long neck and large flipper-like limbs that helped it move through the water. These creatures occupied the seas around North America 76 to 70 million years ago. - Thalassomedon means “sea lord” in ancient Greek, and there's a pretty good reason behind this name. These representatives of the Plesiosaur family were huge predators that could reach 40 feet in length. That’s about as big as 4-story building! - The Tylosaurus belonged to the Mosasaur family. It dominated the shallow seas of North America about 85 to 80 million years ago. This was an enormous predator, with the biggest representatives reaching 45 feet in length. - The Shonisaurus lived on our planet during the Late Triassic Period, approximately 215 million years ago. The remains of this creature were first discovered in Nevada in 1920, not far from the Shoshone Mountains. This prehistoric reptile resembled a huge chubby dolphin. - The Mosasaurus is a truly gigantic predator that dominated the seas all over the world about 66 million years ago. According to fossil evidence, some specimens could be more than 50 feet in length. This fact makes the Mosasaurus the biggest marine carnivore of its time. - The Shastasaurus is the biggest marine reptile that has ever existed. These predators lived during the Late Triassic Period about 210 million years ago. Coca Cola Amatil Indonesia, Surftime Magazine, Deus Ex Machina, ESRU and the ROLE Foundation Source to the Sea Proyek reaches the summit in a symbolic climb of Mt. Batur! Canggu, Bali, January 20, 2013—Coca Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI), Surftime Magazine,Deus Ex Machina, ESRU and the ROLE Foundation are proud to announce their great success with the Source to the Sea environmental initiative proyect. The SOS (Source to the Sea) Proyek was the second half of the Put Up Or Shut Up Freesurfing Championship that took place in late 2012 at Grajagan in Java. The event was won by Tai Graham with Coca-Cola Surf Team Dede Suryana, Tipi Jabrik, and Mustofa Jeksen participating, along with Uluwatu's Made Lana, Billabong's Rahtu Suargita, and American Chris Ward. Each invitee to the Put Up Free Surfing Championship signed a manifesto on the night of the Awards ceremony sealing a promise to honor all Indonesian waterways and seas. On the afternoon of the January 19th, 2013,the SOS project got underway led by Coca Cola Surf Ambassador Mustofa Jeksen, Billabong's Rahtu Suargita, Rip Curl's Diah Rahayu Dewi and Oakley's Dewa Ardika. They traveled up to the sacred Volcano of Mt. Batur overlooking Lake Batur. Lake Batur is the source of all the water of South Bali and the surfers were going there to honor it. At dawn on the 20th, the pro surfer procession climbed Mt. Batur to its Summit of 1,717m where all involved took part in a ceremony that honored all the waterways of Indonesia and gave thanks for the surf spots they provide. After the descent, the procession continued on, following the great Bali waterways and rivers down to Echo Beach in Canggu where over 100 people, including top Government officials, rolled up their sleeves and combed the beach for litter. By days end the surrounding beaches od Canggu were spotless. Mustofa, Diah, Rahtu and Ardika then took to the sea in a quiet ceremony where they gave personal thanks for the honor of being able to travel from the Source to the Sea all in one day. "This was a real achievement for me" Said Coca Cola Amatil Surf Ambassador Mustofa Jeksen, "To be able to stand on top of a mountain a realize that the lake below provides all the water for the rivers that give us sandbars to surf over. And that the rivers also shape the reef passes that give us our barrels. It was a spiritual journey that I will never forget" During the climb on the 20th, three other great simultaneous beach cleanups were taking place involving the locals, Surfers, Government and Banjar leaders, took place at Barawa beach, Padang Padang Beach and Uluwatu. After the beach clean ups the entire procession marched to the Deus Temple of Enthusiasm where a fundraising party kicked off in style featuring Bali's own Rollfast band and Headliner Made J. It was a memorable evening of music and celebration of our great environment as the fundraiser got underway to raise money for ROLE FOUNDATION and ECO SURF RESCUE ULUWATU. The fun went late as all celebrated our great environment and all the joy it provides for us. "It was an unforgettable journey of environmentalism and surfing celebration that we will never forget" said Curtis Lowe from ESRU. Big thanks to Coca Cola Amatil and the ROLE foundation for all the support. Get ready for next year, this is going to be an annual event. South China Sea: Source of power projection

05:50
South China Sea: Source of power projection SUBSCRIBE my channel here: https://goo.gl/F8gn4Z G+ here: https://goo.gl/UzMJVe ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sarfraz Ahmed Rana THE Asia-Pacific security order has been reshaped in recent times by the growing rivalry between the United States and China including the other coastal states involved against the backdrop of escalating tension in the South China Sea. The area became a flashpoint and most debated after the Korean conflict as political tension grew over the territorial sovereignty of the South China Seas Islands. A strategic pathway contains the area of about 3.5 million square kilometres geographically located at the heart of the Pacific Ocean that connects South China Seas with the Indian Ocean, largely considered being the lifeline of the world commerce and commercial activities. The worth of $5 trillion international commerce crosses over the South China Sea every year accentuates the significance of the Seas. A narrative of contest between the two powers over the South China Sea conflict to which China claims the indisputable sovereignty since ancient times have not merely limited scope to the global trade activity but it goes beyond to have the multiple strategic aspects as possesses conceivably one of the world’s largest untapped oil and gas reservoirs, rich in other marine resources including the sizeable amount of fisheries and seafood, most importantly the Freedom of Navigation Operations and Over Flight remains the high priority for the United States and its allies. Chinese ambitious plans of building artificial islands which began to implement in 2016 on the large swathes of South China Sea within the Chinese drawn nine-dash line are almost up and running for Chinese naval power projection and advanced new military installations demonstrates Beijing’s inclination to adopt increasingly modern naval capabilities. In addition to, Chinese first ever military base in Djibouti gives rise to US suspicion of China on the path of becoming ‘peer competitor’, whi... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Science News 2012 (English) Series - New Energy Source from The Sea: Will Marine Power Catch

05:01
2012年 5分 As a new energy option, marine power generation is attracting attention. Venture companies are pushing the research forward. One such project involves the development of a "tuna-shaped tidal turbine which efficiently makes use of ocean flows, with a shape that resists damage by objects floating in the sea. Elsewhere, a gyro-type wave power generator is a new technology that extracts energy from the torque or gyro moment rotation as waves rise and fall at the ocean's surface. From Source to the Sea - A CT River Journey

25:16
A 1959 trip on the Connecticut River from the Canadian border to Long Island Sound increased public awareness of its sad state at the time. Dr. Joseph Davidson and his wife donned gas masks at various locations, met Governors and local officials along the way, and compared a bottle of water from the source to water along the way. The Connecticut River Watershed Council (now the Connecticut River Conservancy) made this 25 minute film of the journey to spread the story.

Connecticut River Conservancy: Source to Sea Clean Up 2018 - West River Trail

01:13:14
The 22nd annual Source to Sea Cleanup on September 28 & 29, 2018 was a wonderful success! The Source to Sea Cleanup is a yearly trash cleanup of the Connecticut River system all along the four-state watershed (NH, VT, MA, CT) – rivers & streams, shorelines, parks, boat launches, trails and more. Each fall, volunteer group leaders coordinate local cleanup sites where thousands of participants of all ages and abilities spend a few hours picking up trash. We all have a responsibility to solve this trash problem – individuals, manufacturers, businesses, and government.
