During an interview, Ha Ji Won revealed the secrets to her ageless skin. Lets see how she managed to preserve her youth so well despite her age!
“I drink pumpkin latte nearly every morning. I make the drink by mixing steamed pumpkin, milk, and honey in a blender. You'll feel full after drinking it. It tastes great, helps you lose weight, and makes you feel better too," said Ha Ji Won with a smile.
Pumpkin is packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which increase cell turnover, to brighten and smooth the
skin. Pumpkin contains antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging.
Here's a unique tip from Ha ji Won: "The day after I drink lemon soju, I hear people tell me my skin looks smoother. If you want to drink alcohol but are worried about your skin health, try lemon soju,” she said. Honey Lemon Soju is made of one bottle of soju,
three lemons and one spoonful of honey.
Soju is a type of rice wine which is made in South Korea. It is traditionally made from rice, wheat, or barley. There are also some
modern producers who replace rice with other starches such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, or tapioca. It was found that drinking soju helps prevent strokes. Mixing soju with lemon help to maximize its benefits especially for skin health.
Although there isn't any scientific prove that drinking soju is good for skin, however, there are some korean celebrities who claim that
drinking soju helps improve their skin health including Im Si Wan, a member of the South Korean boyband ZE:A. "When I had important
parts to film the next day, I drank soju instead of beer. I get things on my face with beer, but when I drink soju, I feel like my skin
gets tighter," he said.
The third key is to eat low-sodium foods. Ha Ji Won said, "Compared to salty foods, low-sodium and light foods are better for the body, and they help your body feel lighter and more flexible."
Ha Ji Won loves mixing fruits and nuts in yogurt. She said, "I can never give up fruits. I really love berries. I have to eat fruits at least once a day. All you have to do is to mix some fruits and nuts, and add yogurt to make a mixture. This way you can get fruits, nuts, and yogurt all at once. It'll make you feel happy too."
Ha Ji Won likes using rice water to wash her face. Rice water is simply the milky water that you get when you soak rice in water.
Remember to wash the rice once then throw the water away. After that, soak the rice in water again for 10 minutes and use the water
to wash your face. Rice water contains nutrients that can be beneficial for your skin and it is very effective in slowing the signs of ageing and for lighten dark spots on skin.
One of her favourite facial mask is banana honey facial mask. According to her, banana honey mask gives her skin a healthy glow. Just mash a ripe banana with the back of a fork and
combine 1 tablespoon of raw honey and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice to make an amazing face mask. Rinse off with water after 15 minutes.
