Featured in MoMA's New Photography 2010, Prager's work has been exhibited at institutions worldwide. Characterized by deeply saturated colors, heightened drama, and dark humor, Prager's film noir inspired photographs hint at narrative subtexts while maintaining a sense of ambiguity and self-contained emotional intensity. Her work draws from a diverse group of influences, including pulp fiction, the cinematic style of David Lynch, Alfred Hitchcock, and Luis Buñuel, as well as contemporary artists such as William Eggleston, Cindy Sherman, and Enrique Metinides. Prager's work has been featured in publications such as Foam Magazine, the New York Times Magazine, American Vogue, W Magazine, and Art in America. Additionally, her photographs are in the permanent collection of several major museums, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Kunsthaus Zurich, and Moderna Museet, Stockholm, among others.

Balloon code, the making of NewYorkTimes magazine cover.

01:08
Cover of the Newyorktimes magazine. For the year in ideas issue, 10th anniversary. Made out of about 1000 balloons, confetti and streamers. Huge installation to create a QR code (smart phone code scan) out of those balloons. When the code is scaned, it brings you to the nyt website, year in ideas section. There you can see the making of the installation, a big time lapse that show you everything. Working in collaboration with the Newyorktimes magazine, I came up with that concept, flew to NY to build the installation and shoot it there with Tom Schierlitz. I had my two NY collaborators helping me to build the thing (Ben and Paul). From the Original Motion Picture, THE MULE – Toby Keith "Don’t Let The Old Man In"

02:53
Don’t miss the music video for Toby Keith’s “Don’t Let the Old Man In” from the original motion picture #TheMule, starring Clint Eastwood – only in theaters December 14. http://www.facebook.com/TheMuleFilm/ http://twitter.com/TheMuleFilm http://www.instagram.com/themulefilm/ http://www.themulefilm.com/ From Warner Bros. Pictures, Imperative Entertainment and BRON Creative comes Clint Eastwood’s newest feature film, the drama “The Mule.” In addition to directing, the veteran actor will step in front of the lens again, alongside fellow stars Bradley Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, Dianne Wiest and Andy Garcia, as well as Alison Eastwood, Taissa Farmiga, Ignacio Serricchio and Loren Dean, Eugene Cordero. Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive. Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he’s just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does well—so well, in fact, that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn’t the only one keeping tabs on Earl; the mysterious new drug mule has also hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates. And even as his money problems become a thing of the past, Earl’s past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it’s uncertain if he’ll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel’s enforcers, catch up to him. “The Mule” marks Oscar-winner Eastwood’s first time on both sides of the camera since he starred in 2009’s critically acclaimed “Gran Torino.” Cooper, who stars as Bates, received his most recent Oscar nominations for his work with Eastwood, acting in and producing “American Sniper”; he will next be seen in his feature directorial debut, “A Star Is Born.” Oscar nominee Fishburne (“What’s Love Got to Do with It,” TV’s “Black-ish”) plays a DEA special agent in charge; Peña (upcoming “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” Netflix’s “Narcos”) plays a fellow agent; Oscar winner Wiest (“Bullets Over Broadway,” “Hannah and Her Sisters,” TV’s “Life in Pieces”) plays Earl’s ex-wife; Oscar nominee Garcia (“The Godfather: Part III”) plays a cartel boss; Alison Eastwood (“Rails & Ties”) plays Earl’s daughter; Farmiga (“The Nun”) plays the role of Earl’s granddaughter; Serricchio (Netflix’s “Lost in Space,” “The Wedding Ringer”) plays Earl’s cartel handler; Dean (“Space Cowboys”) plays another agent; and Cordero (“Kong: Skull Island”) plays a cartel member. Clint Eastwood (“Sully,” “American Sniper”) directed from a screenplay by Nick Schenk (“Gran Torino”), inspired by the New York Times Magazine article “The Sinaloa Cartels’ 90-Year-Old Drug Mule” by Sam Dolnick. Eastwood also produced the film under his Malpaso banner, along with Tim Moore, Kristina Rivera and Jessica Meier, and Imperative Entertainment’s Dan Friedkin and Bradley Thomas. The film’s executive producers are Dave Bernad, Ruben Fleischer, Todd Hoffman and Aaron Gilbert. Jillian Apfelbaum and David M. Bernstein co-produced. Eastwood’s team behind the scenes includes director of photography Yves Bélanger (“Brooklyn,” “Dallas Buyers Club”) and production designer Kevin Ishioka (“The 15:17 to Paris”), along with longtime costume designer Deborah Hopper and Oscar-winning editor Joel Cox (“Unforgiven”), who have worked with Eastwood throughout the years on numerous projects. A Warner Bros. Pictures Presentation, in Association with Imperative Entertainment, in Association with BRON Creative, a Malpaso Production, “The Mule” will be released in theaters December 14, 2018, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Bring Nostalgic Beauty to Your Home with Framed Prints from the NY Times | Pottery Barn

01:59
See Diane McNulty, Executive Director at the New York Times talk about America's pre-eminent newspaper and its collaboration with Pottery Barn to produce gorgeous framed prints that are a testament to history. Diane tells us that the New York Times has been documenting the news in words for the last 160 years. They published the news illustrated with striking black and white photos for the first time in 1896. She says that the Times has been covering history as it happens with the newspaper being the chronicle of the two World Wars, 32 presidents and 35 hometown world series wins. The framed prints offered by Pottery Barn will help you bring these exclusive photographs from the archives of the New York Times to your home. Some of the black and white photos that you can find in the Pottery Barn NY Times Photography Collection include the launching of the Queen Mary in 1934 and Orville Wright taking flight in 1913. You can also find snapshots of iconic architecture like the Eiffel Tower and the Chrysler building. Some of the photos bring back the nostalgic charm of old New York, with the construction of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Hotel Astor in Times Square. As the nation's most honored news source, the Times has earned this distinction by winning the Pulitzer Prize, the highest honor in journalism, several times over. The New York Times has won 108 Pulitzer Prizes for its efforts in changing the media landscape. This has earned the Times the standing of being the "picture newspaper" with Pulitzers for its feature photography, breaking news photography and masterful, groundbreaking international photography. There are more than 5 million images in the comprehensive Times photo archive. The photos include portraits of world leaders, stunning landscapes with a few quirky pictures thrown in -- there's one with men's hats on a table in the White House, circa 1948. Photos that allow the viewer to take a look inside a Detroit tire factory from 1931 are also part of this archive. The images in the Times photo collection reveal the power of photography to inform, to delight and to inspire across different spheres like architecture, sports, innovation and culture. From this vast collection, Pottery Barn has created an exclusive selection of framed prints of black and white photos from the collected works of the NY Times. Reproduced in archival-quality 10 x 8" prints, they are distinctively framed to captures the beauty and nostalgia of a bygone era. Diane concludes by saying that the New York Times has been writing the first draft of history for the last 160 years. Now, you can bring a piece of that history into your home with these photo prints from Pottery Barn. From 2015 Book Expo America, Javits Center, New York, NY. Recorded Thursday, May 28, 2015. Brandon Stanton is the creator of the #1 New York Times bestselling book Humans of New York as well as the children's book, Little Humans. His photography and storytelling blog, also called Humans of New York is followed by over fifteen million people on several social media platforms. He was a 2013 Time Magazine "30 people under 30 changing the world," an ABC News Person of the Week, told stories from around the world in collaboration with the United Nations, and was invited to photograph President Obama in the Oval Office. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and lives in New York City. FROM THE PUBLISHER: In the summer of 2010, photographer Brandon Stanton began an ambitious project -to single-handedly create a photographic census of New York City. The photos he took and the accompanying interviews became the blog Humans of New York. His audience steadily grew from a few hundred followers to, at present count, over twelve million. In 2013, his book Humans of New York, based on that blog, was published and immediately catapulted to the top of the NY Times Bestseller List where it has appeared for over forty-five weeks. Now, Brandon is back with the Humans of New York book that his loyal followers have been waiting for: Humans of New York: Stories. Ever since Brandon began interviewing people on the streets of New York, the dialogue he's had with them has increasingly become as in-depth, intriguing and moving as the photos themselves. Humans of New York: Stories presents a whole new group of people in stunning photographs, with a rich design and, most importantly, longer stories that delve deeper and surprise with greater candor. Let Brandon Stanton and the Humans of New York he's photographed astonish you all over again next fall.
