This Man Was Lost At Sea For A Year. What Two Fishermen Found Inside His Yacht Will Terrify You

04:50
Drifting out at sea with a broken sail, the yacht painted a desolate picture. But as the two fishermen approached the stricken vessel, they could never have guessed at the nightmare that lurked within. Peering into the cabin of the boat, the two men were greeted with a scene straight out of a horror movie. They had finally discovered the incredible fate of a German sailor lost at sea. Fifty-nine-year-old Manfred Fritz Bajorat loved adventure. Born in the Ruhr region of Germany, he hated the cold winters of his native country. So, instead, he traveled the world aboard his 40-foot yacht, Sayo, in search of warmer weather. ►For more articles visit: http://scribol.com ►For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] ********************** ►Support our channel PATREON: https://goo.gl/HJbzyf Thanks To Our Patreons Salami L. MAN LOST IN THE OCEAN

04:14
There are some tales of courage, endurance, and strength that defy all belief. The events which unfolded after Brett Archibald, 50, fell into the ocean off the coast of Indonesia is one such tale. Over the course of 29 hours, Brett learned just how strong the will to live is – and just how far one man will go to see his family again. At roughly 2:30 AM on April 17th, 2013, Brett Archibald and a group of friends were well on their way to fulfilling a life-long dream. They had made the trip to Indonesia to surf in the waters off the coast of the famous Mentawai Islands. Brett was on deck alone, sick and unsteady when he passed out and fell overboard. No-one saw him fall, and in the choppy conditions, no-one heard his cries for help. Treading water, Brett realized that he was in real trouble; he had to find a way to stay afloat until his crew eventually returned. His crew did notice, of course, and retraced their steps, coming within 250 feet of him before turning back. By 6.30 pm that day poor weather forced all search parties back, and Brett faced a night in the water. Alone, sunburnt, and exhausted he was trying to stay hopeful when something bumped into his back. When a second bump pushed him through the water he peered beneath the surface and came face to face with a Black Tip Reef Shark. Reef sharks can be aggressive and have been known to attack humans. He contemplated how he could escape. They faced off for a few seconds, and then, just as it had come, the shark was gone. In South Africa, Brett's wife Anita Archibald had received the news and was distraught, but she never gave up hope. Though his crew feared him dead, Anita knew he lived and she had, unknown to her, one staunch ally. Tony ‘Doris’ Eltherington rallied four Australian charter boats and boarded his own; at the helm of the Barren, Joey he would set out in search of Brett. Through the evening and night Brett floated. He faced seagulls who were intent on feeding on his eyes and ears. When night fell, and he floated, prone, into a cloud of stinging jellyfish. When dawn rose, it brought no comfort. After nearly 20 hours in the water, his own mind began to turn against him. Brett had started to hallucinate. He saw his own boat, his friends and crew; their faces were so real that he swam to them and called out. He reached for their hands only to fall under the waves and resurface to the empty ocean. ‘Doris’ was closing in, but, of course, Brett couldn’t have known. As he crested his 28th hour in the ocean, he gave up. Sinking beneath the water, Brett aimed to end his life. His body, however, and his love for his wife and family wouldn’t let him go just yet. He fought against his own choice and resurfaced, coughing, retching and renewed as Doris and his crew approached; against all odds, they found him. When asked what spurred him to fight, even to the end, he said that it was his wife, Anita, and their children. “I thought, I’ve only had ten years with this woman,” he said, “it’s not enough.” If you were inspired by this story and want to hear more like it, subscribe to our channel. A scuba diver thought he was doomed when he was lost at sea, 30 miles off the coast of Australia last month, and he is now thanking his lucky stars - and his wetsuit - for saving his life. Jacob Childs recorded his harrowing ordeal on a GoPro camera when he accidentally strayed away from his diving group off the coast of Queensland. The water apparel prevented him from getting hypothermia during the six-hour nightmare.

Footage of miracle sea rescue: Man survives for three days trapped in shipwreck using air bubble

02:12
Subscribe to ITN News: http://bit.ly/itnytsub Footage has emerged of the miraculous rescue of a Nigerian man who spent 62 hours trapped in an air bubble in an upturned tugboat under the ocean. After almost three days in the freezing cold water, 29-year-old Harrison Okene was discovered by divers. He had been the cook on board the Jascon-4 tugboat when it capsized on May 26 due to heavy Atlantic ocean swells off the coast of Nigeria. Somehow Okene survived, breathing inside a four foot high bubble of air as it shrunk in the waters slowly rising from the ceiling of the tiny toilet and adjoining bedroom where he sought refuge. Of the 12 people on board, divers recovered ten dead bodies, while a remaining crew member has not been found. Report by Sophie Foster. The deep blue, a cobalt expanse of awe and wonder. Is it a marvel of our own unique world or a dormant terror that breeds nightmares and thrives on peril? That may sound dramatic, but consider the tales of these recreational and professional mariners. Against the odds, they fought against themselves, the ferocity of Mother Nature and the passing of time to return to solid ground. Or did they? Scuba Diver Rescued After Drifting at Sea for Over 17 Hours

04:29
Credit: Alan Griffiths A 68-year-old scuba diver was rescued off the northern Queensland coast on November 7 after he had been left adrift for over 17 hours. The man, John Leslie Brierley, had gone solo diving the day before at the SS Yongala wreck by Russell Island, south of Townsville, ABC reported. After he failed to return that evening, a search began, and Brierley was finally spotted the following day by rescuer Alan Griffiths, who saw his yellow oxygen tank from a rescue helicopter. Griffiths told ABC that he greeted Brierley by saying, "G'day mate, do you want a lift?" Brierley, who was taken to hospital to recuperate, told ABC he'd forgotten to take his personal locator beacon with him on the dive, which caused the disorientation. Acting Inspector Graeme Paterson called the rescue a lucky one, comparing it to "looking for a needle in a haystack." Lost at sea for 66 days, missing man found off North Carolina's Cape Hatteras

Originally published on 03 April, 2015 Weeks after the Coast Guard called off the search for Louis Jordan, a container ship found the missing South Carolina man on Thursday. Jordan’s family reported him missing at sea more than two months ago. Louis Jordan left Bucksport Plantation Marina in South Carolina on January 23 for a solo fishing trip. According to Jordan’s father, Jordan was not an experienced sailor and the January trip was his first time out at sea. Jordan’s single-masted sailboat experienced problems and capsized. Jordan survived for the next sixty-six days by eating raw fish and drinking rainwater. A passing German container ship, the Houston Express, spotted Jordan 200 miles east of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The container brought Jordan aboard on Thursday afternoon. Jordan, who had a minor shoulder injury, was flown by a Coast Guard helicopter to a hospital in Norfolk, Virginia after his rescue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Animation Studio’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D news animations that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. Mexican man adrift at sea survives for 13 months

01:00
Originally published on February 4, 2014 A Mexican castaway, who claims to have drifted across the Pacific Ocean for 13 months, was found alive in the Marshall Islands on Thursday. Jose Salvador Albarengo, 37, and his fishing vessel washed ashore at the Ebon Atoll from where he was rushed to Majuro, the capital, where he is now recuperating. Albarengo and a teenage shark fishing man embarked on a day-long fishing trip on a 7m (24ft) fiberglass boat from Mexico in December 2012. The motor on the boat stopped working shortly afterward and the two soon lost sight of land. Albarengo survived by catching birds, fish and turtles with his bare hands and drinking his own urine. His teenaged shipmate, Ezekiel starved to death. After more than a year, Albarengo's boat finally washed ashore on the remote and sparsely populated coral atoll of 22 islands. There he was spotted in ragged underpants by two local women who alerted authorities. After a 22-hour boat ride, he arrived at Majuro for medical examination. Albarengo's body was swollen due to edema brought on by too much sun and salt. Despite the ordeal, he appeared to be in otherwise relatively good condition when he was admitted to hospital. Born in El Salvador, Albarengo worked as a fisherman in Mexico for 15 years. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next Animation Studio’s News Direct service provides daily, high-quality, informative 3D news animations that fill in for missing footage and help viewers understand breaking news stories or in-depth features on science, technology, and health. Lost at sea for months. Could You Survive This?

04:52
Get life-saving tweets now - twitter.com/DoomsdayPrepp4r How to stay alive in dangerous waters. Stranded at sea survival tips. Lost at sea for 66 days. We're kicking off "Gma survival week" with a harrowing situation. What do you do if you're stranded at sea, there's in dangerous waters? Matt Gutman knows. He's here to share it with us. Reporter: Good morning. For this installment, we traveled deep into Mexico to learn the life-saving survival skills in the sea of Cortez. "Gma" dropping me off in the deep end where I learned one useful skill. All of this inspired by the people who survived the real thing. Survivor is on the vessel. Reporter: Louis Jordan rescued after being lost at sea for 66 days. A former football player thrown from his 36-foot fishing boat without a life preserver. I realized I was in real trouble. Reporter: Rob Conrad forced to swim 27 miles over 16 hours. Miraculously, he survived. And Seattle siblings Dan and Kate suskey on a charter fishing trip off the coast of St. Lucia when their boat capsized. It's surreal. Reporter: They swam for 14 hours in shark-infested water. We could see land off in the distance and started swimming that direction. Reporter: Basic skills that they applied helped them survive. I wanted to find out if there were in, so here I am. Drifting away in the shark-infested sea of Cortez in Mexico. Not exactly sure how I'll get out of this mess, but I do know exactly how I got into it. ? earlier that morning, in Mexico, I boarded a chopper for a 45-minute flight over the desert to a village. It's here I meet up with Dan Baird, head up instructor for the California vur vooifl school. How hard could it be to jump out of a helicopter? It's missing its doors. Why would anyone jump out with nothing but the clothes on their backs and the shoes on their feet? The plan is for Dan to teach me how the survive being lost at sea. I'm way too tear field to have final words. As the chopper reaches the drop location, the devil's mouth, Dan and I take our positions. And on the count of three. Whoo! That was awesome. It's a plunge into 70-degree water. As the rush subsides and I acclimate to the temperature, reality sets in. If our shoes are impeding our swimming, we want to relax and get them off. Reporter: The first thing Dan tells me to do is sake of my shoes and tie them around my neck. They're not conducive to treading water. We may be here for awhile. We maintain breathing. Slow it down. Slow down the heart rate. Figure out how to maintain a float. Reporter: And we do that by -- I just took my pants off. I didn't think I would do that on TV ever. Is there tie them tight. Reporter: It's a skill that takes some practice. By filling the wlegs air, I've turned my pants into a life preserver. As for avoiding sharks, as experts told us last year, don't thrash around. You look like food. If you're with another person, link arms back to back and fight them off with your legs. If you don't see land, what do you do? Just stay calm and conserve energy. Dan says your number one enemy is panic. If I didn't have a float like a set of pants, another option would be the dead man's float. Fill our lungs with air, put yourself face down. Float. Until you feel like you need to take another breath. Reporter: A plunge in the air I won't soon forget. Whoo! All to help you survive the unthinkable. Give yourself little tasks. Focus on keeping afloat. Use your watch to reflect sun flight you see a boat nearby. If you can't see land, don't try to swim. Above all, keep your pants on. Please do. Reporter: Always. Good advice. It's remarkable how good a pair of papts can be as a flotation device. Of course, if you really want to survive, don't jump out of a helicopter. That was George's takeaway.

Indonesian teen rescued after 49 days drifting at sea

05:54
An Indonesian teen has been rescued after drifting at sea for 49 days on a floating fish trap and is back safely with his family, according to the country's foreign affairs ministry. 19-year-old Aldi Novel Adilang had been working as a lamp keeper on a remote fishing trap -- known locally as a rompong -- situated 125 kilometers off the northern coast of Manado in the province of North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Rompongs, which look like small huts, are fish aggregator devices that sit upon buoys or floats and are anchored to concrete blocks on the seafloor by rope. Adilang's job was to light lamps powered by a generator on the trap each night to attract fish. He was hired to spend six months on rompongs, with someone visiting at the end of each week to drop off food, water and fuel supplies and harvest the fish, the Jakarta Post reported. He told CNN affiliate CNN Indonesia that in mid-July strong southerly winds had caused high waves, resulting in the anchor rope rubbing until it broke. He said that he had communication with friends on another raft for a week but after that was alone. The platform made it all the way to the waters of Guam where he was picked up by a Panamanian-flagged ship, MV Arpeggio, on August 31, before it continued onto Tokuyama port in the Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan. He said that he saw many ships during his time adrift and shouted in Indonesian and banged a can to attract attention. Eventually, by shouting "help" in English he was able to attract the attention of the Arpeggio, which rescued him. "Aldi said he had been scared and often cried while adrift," said Fajar Firdaus, a diplomat at the Indonesian consulate in Osaka, according to the Jakarta Post report. "Every time he saw a large ship, he said, he was hopeful, but more than 10 ships had sailed past him, none of them stopped or saw Aldi." After arriving on September 6, Adilang was examined by the Japanese Coast Guard and declared healthy enough to return to his home country, the Indonesian foreign affairs ministry said. Two days later, the Indonesian Consulate in Osaka facilitated his return flight home. Consul General Mirza Nurhidayat told CNN that Adilang had recovered well since being plucked from the ocean in August. "He was taken care well by the captain of the ship, so when we saw him, his condition was actually better than the first time he was rescued," Nurhidayat said. He added that upon being informed by the Japanese Coast Guard of the teen's rescue, the consulate in Osaka immediately began looking for his family in Indonesia to inform them. The Indonesian Consulate in Osaka posted a statement on Facebook on September 14 saying that the young man was now back with his family in Manado and in "good condition." The post added that the consulate expressed its appreciation "to all parties involved in rescuing and returning Aldi home safely to Indonesia." Courtesy : CNN
