Java String - Explained | String Tutorial in Java | Java9s.com

05:08
http://java9s.com String is the most widely used object type in Java. Because of this, String Objects enjoy some extra privilege from JVM Just like any other object, we can use a new operator to create a String. There are around thirteen different constructors provided by String class. We can just use the quotes to create a String object. Remember that all the strings in Java are maintained as a character array in the background. String object wraps this array and provides some additional functionality to edit, search and work with text. All string objects are maintained in a separate heap called String constant pool. String class is declared as final which makes it not possible to be extended.

Java String - Example of Declaring and Initializing Strings and calling Methods - Java Tutorial

02:51
The String data type is for declaring a sequence of characters. String literals are enclosed in double quotes, such as “Java”. A String can be any combination of characters including an empty String, a blank, numbers, digits, symbols and escape characters. String is a class data type, not one of the 8 primitive data types, which means that Strings are objects and not variables. An object consists of data that belongs to the object, and methods (actions) that the object can do. How to use split method in java | String split method in java | Java split method

05:07
Strings in Java || Split() method in Java || Learn Java Programming Beginners Do you want to break your string into the multiple part and build the array strings out of it. In this video I’m going to demonstrate this with live coding. Please check this out video till the end. As a bonus at the end I’m going to show you how we can break the string with special characters too So let’s get started. In this video, I’m going to cover all about split method of Java which can be used to break given string into the array of strings. You can easily break any given string by character as well as by word and generate the array of string We’ve to first create the class with main method. Now let create a string variable and store some value like “GT test automation”. Now let’s calls the split() method. Say I want to split the given sentence into the words so i’ve to break the string with space. Use Arrays.toString() method if you want to print the content of the string. If you want to split the string by some special characters like dot, + or any other symbol symbol then you should put the double backslash symbol Java doc of String class can be found using following link: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/lang/String.html If you find this video useful, please like this video and checkout our other video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8VNp79EalE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-y_qEUIs-Eo

What is StringBuilder in Java?

16:23
We talk about operations that we can perform on a StringBuilder and why you might use it instead of a string. We then solve the codechef problem TAEDITOR using this class. Use StringBuilders when you are not worried about concurrency, and want to make lots of modifications on the given string. Strings in java are inherently immutable, so every time you make a change, new objects have to be created. To make this more efficient, we use StringBuilders and StringBuffers which allow modifications without new object creation. Problem Statement: https://www.codechef.com/problems/TAEDITOR Solution: https://github.com/gkcs/ChainReaction/blob/master/src/main/java/main/java/videos/StringManipulations.java Documentation: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/api/java/lang/StringBuilder.html

String Buffer and String Builder - Explained | Java9s.com

09:38
http://java9s.com StringBuffer and StringBuilder objects are useful when we need to frequently append content or modify the content which are as Strings. Because Strings are immutable, every modification will endup creating new String objects which will overload the Memory. So, when you need to modify the String, it is better to use String Buffer or String Builder. In this video, i have explained the differences between the String Buffer and String Builder and demonstrated with an example how they behave. Sorting of an array in java | Sorting array in java using comparator

16:07
Do you want to explore how can we sort an array elements in the Java? You’re at the at right place. Please watch this video till end we’re first going to sort the array of strings then we’ll see see how we can sort the array of objects. So please sit tight & lets get started Let us first create class with main method. Create array of string containing names. Now hit the sort method of the Arrays class. We need to import the Arrays class using import statement. If you want to sort the array of string in descending order then we have to use the reverseOrder() method of collections class. Sorting of the such array having string is pretty simple but if you want to sort the array of objects then we’ve to use the Comparator interface. Let’s first create the class with name Person. We’re going to add the two fields name and age. Let me generate the gets and sets along with toString() method. Create array of person objects with name Persons. Now we want to sort the Persons array by name then by age. For this we’ve to create the another class by implementing the Comparator interface. Comparator interface has one method called compare() method. We’ve to override this method and put the logic for the sorting.
