10 “Generic” Product Names You Didn’t Realize Were TRADEMARKS

19:42
Check out our New Biography Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/biographics A trademark usually presents itself in the form of a name, a logo, a design, or a phrase, with the purpose of distinguishing one manufacturer’s products from another. Sometimes, however, when business is really good for a particular brand, or it has a head start over the competition, then that particular brand might just become a proprietary eponym, or generic trademark. This means that if a product develops a substantial market share over the other manufacturers, or it becomes well ingrained into the public consciousness, then its brand could replace the name for the entire industry. →Subscribe for new videos every day! https://www.youtube.com/user/toptenznet?sub_confirmation=1 Help us translate our videos: https://www.youtube.com/timedtext_cs_queue?msg=10&tab=0 - Learn more why you might want to help: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/6052538 Find more lists at: http://www.toptenz.net Entertaining and educational top 10 lists from TopTenzNet! Subscribe here ➜ http://bit.ly/JustOneDimeSubscribe If I was asked, "What is the #1 most important thing to teach a new Amazon seller?" without hesitation I would reply, "How to private label your product so that no one else can sell it." This is the heart of building passive income on Amazon. Private labeling means you did something to the product to make it uniquely your brand that no one else has rights to sell. Private labeling can be done on numerous levels, and one level that I did not mention in this video is informational private labeling, where you add a manual or how-to tips to your product--information that you personally wrote, so that no one else can mimic your product. Here are the main levels of private labeling your product on Amazon: First Level: - In your listing title, add "By [Your Company Name]" - Upload your logo as one of your product photos. Make sure it is not the first photo or the last two photos. Second Level: - Have your logo printed on a sticker that you attach to your product or to the packaging. - Have your logo printed on the product or the retail packaging of your product Third Level: - Accessorizing. Add accessories to your core product that no one else is adding to theirs. A powerful way to achieve this which makes it extremely hard for competitors to compete with you is by adding a training manual or instruction tips that you personally wrote. Fourth Level: - Trademark your company name and logo. You can apply for trademarks in numerous countries simultaneously here: http://www.wipo.int/madrid/en/ Brand Registry: When you register your brand with Amazon, no one else can edit your listing and it also makes it much more difficult for competitors to claim that your product is "not authentic." Three steps to take to be prepared for applying for the Brand Registry https://sellercentral.amazon.com/brand/catalog-brand-application/create?: 1. An image of your product packaging with branding visible on the packaging. 2. An image of a product with your branding visible on the product itself. 3. Link to an active website that displays your brand or products.

ZuriHac 2016: Generic (and type-level) Programming with Generics-sop

01:10:24
A Google TechTalk, July 22, 2016, presented by Andres Löh ABSTRACT: Many Haskell functions can be defined for a large class of datatypes in a systematic way. Examples include structural equality and comparisons, all kind of (de)serialization functions (plain text, JSON, binary, etc.), traversal and access functions such as lenses and their various variants, functions for querying and updating databases and many more. For some built-in type classes, Haskell offers the "deriving" construct, but GHC also has a "generics" feature that allows users to define their own derivable classes, without having to resort to Template Haskell. In this talk, I'm going to introduce "generics-sop", a library that supports such datatype-generic programming by means of a number of powerful, higher-order combinators that can be reused and composed in several ways. This approach makes use of several type-system extensions available for GHC, such as GADTs (in particular, for heterogeneous lists), data kinds, kind polymorphism, constraint kinds, and rank-n polymorphism. We will start from examples and see how we can define a few generic functions using generics-sop and then, as far as time permits, look more closely at how it all works. https://wiki.haskell.org/ZuriHac2016

SWOT analysis in practice - Starbucks -------------------------------- Strategy analysis has two main branches – analysis of a firm’s external environment and analysis of a firm’s internal environment. SWOT is a famous framework that allows us to combine the two types of analysis. SWOT is sometimes referred to as internal-external analysis. The acronym SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. The first two, Strengths and Weaknesses, are related to a firm’s internal environment, while the last two, Opportunities and Threats, consider its external environment. Internal strengths and external opportunities are vertically paired as helpful elements, while internal weaknesses and external threats are paired as harmful elements. if we perform a company analysis, under strengths, we would expect to see its core competences, the areas where the business excels and has a competitive advantage over competitors. Weaknesses are areas that need improvement. Such vulnerabilities place a company at a disadvantage when competing against other firms. Opportunities can be seen as favorable factors existing in a company’s external environment, in the industry where it operates, and have the potential to improve its current results and competitive positioning. Threats arise in a company’s external environment and might harm its current business.

The Best Pricing Strategy - The Apple Way

03:29
Please Subscribe here https://goo.gl/6mVLxs to have more videos on business, entrepreneurship, motivation, personal development and success strategy. Setting the right price for a product or a service can be very challenging especially for new entrepreneurs. This is because it can be quite confusing to understand how pricing really works in the market. For example, which of these two products would you buy, the first one is priced at $800 and the second product with the same functions and usage is priced only at $4? Obviously, most of us would choose the $4 product, right? Yes and no. It all depends on 2 important factors which I am going to explain more in this video. If you say yes then why is it that a 256GB iPhone 7 which is priced at $849 is more in demand than a Freedom 251 smartphone which is priced only at $4 a piece? If you say no then why is it that most of us would choose to get a $1 mineral water than the one that is priced at $200 a bottle? So how much should you price your product then? Well, there’s no one right answer to this question because there are so many things that you need to consider such as your overall business goals, how you plan to position your product in the market, your market niche, the costs to produce your products, your product category, and your overall operational costs, just to name a few. Is there a simpler way to do this? Of course, there is, just make sure you know your product category and your positioning strategy. Let me explain. Basically, your product will fall into either one of these two big categories. One is a generic product which can be divided into convenience and shopping products. Convenience products refer to our day to day products such as food, drinks, household products, and so forth whereas shopping products refer to products like clothing, shoes, furniture, and electrical appliances. The second product category is specialty products such as exclusive clothing lines, luxury cars, branded items such as branded bags, watches, shoes, and perfumes. If it is categorised as a generic product just use cost plus profit pricing strategy. Which means, you set your price by adding up the total costs to produce one unit plus the profit you want to make for every product sold. This usually works just fine because almost all generic products are priced this way. But if your product is a specialty product, you need to decide on how you want to position it in the market, more specifically how do you want to position it in the mind of your customers and you can set whatever price you want. The most important thing that you must remember here is this, the moment you enter the market with your product positioning and pricing strategy, it will stay in there forever and, to reposition it later on in the future is almost impossible. For example, Freedom 251 smartphone is positioned as the cheapest and most affordable smartphone in the world and to reposition it just like an iPhone is near to impossible task. Therefore, how should you price your products and services? Decide on your product category and on how do you want to position it in your market. pricing strategies | pricing strategies in marketing | competitive pricing strategy | marketing pricing strategies | pricing methods | business pricing strategies | pricing strategy examples | Follow me on twitter https://twitter.com/moslemanoar Connect with me on linkedin https://my.linkedin.com/in/moslem Follow me on my blog http://moslemanoar.com/ Connect with me on facebook https://www.facebook.com/moslemanoarpage Connect with me on skype moslemanoar

Design Books Every Entrepreneur Should Read (2018)

07:03
Hi guys, In this video I discuss 5 books relating to product design that I think every entrepreneur should read. It doesn't matter if you have a design background or what type of product or service you plan to offer. In my opinion these books cover enough generic aspects of design, user engagement and behaviour to give you a better understanding of what to consider when providing a tangible solution to a problem worth solving. The books I cover here are: 5: Value Proposition Design - Alexander Osterwalder & Yves Pigneur https://amzn.to/2D3z3IC 4: The Art of Innovation - Tom Kelley https://amzn.to/2D4n6SV 3: Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products - Nir Eyal https://amzn.to/2D3B3k6 2: Don't Make Me Think - Steve Krug https://amzn.to/2D5nWit 1: The Design of Everyday Things - Don Norman https://amzn.to/2D4SCQE Of course, this is one man's opinion and very subjective. However, these books were very enlightening and useful to me. By all means, if you think other books should get a mention then please list them in the comments section and I'll look into them (if I haven't read them already). I hope you find this video useful and that these books help you on your entrepreneurial (and design!) journey. DO NOT DROPSHIP These 5 Items (WARNING - Products that Will LOSE You Money)

13:13
We reveal 5 products that you should NOT dropship… if you don’t want to lose money! ►► Free $10,000/Month ebook: http://wholesaleted.com/4-step ►► The Dropship Club (Step-By-Step Training): https://thedropshipclub.com 10 Things to Do BEFORE Dropshipping: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPKvNTly7Pg How to Not Get Sued When Dropshipping: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtEkAyKapds (SPOILER ALERT: Below we reveal why you shouldn’t be dropshipping these items… so if you want to play along and see what score you get, don’t read this!) Why You Shouldn’t Dropship Product #1: Because It Has Very Few Reviews The first Aliexpress product revealed in this video to avoid is very risky. It is tempting because it is making a lot of sales - indicating that there is demand for it. But with very few historical reviews, you don’t have enough information to know if a supplier will be good at fulfilling orders (especially if you start selling a lot). Will the quality of the items go down as the production goes up? Is the supplier good at shipping this item out on time? How many people truly like the item that they receive? A small number of reviews isn’t enough to make an assessment on this. It can be very tempting to sell items that have very few reviews - especially if it’s in a hot niche that lacks products. But I strongly recommend avoiding them because you’re risking getting refunds, disputes and chargebacks if the supplier can’t follow-through. Why You Shouldn’t Dropship Product #2: Because it Contains Trademarks This Star Wars mug is illegally using the Star Wars logo - a trademark they don’t have permission to reuse. Dropshipping this is very bad for two reasons: 1) The product will get removed from Aliexpress because it is illegal. It is only short-term money. 2) It’s illegal to sell it, and you are risking getting into trouble with the law by dropshipping it. Why You Should Dropship Product #3: Because it’s VERY Boring & Generic A lot of people ask us the same question: why would a customer purchase an item from your store at a markup, when they can go to Aliexpress or Amazon.com and buy it from there instead for cheaper? Won’t the potential customer price-check your item? The answer to this is that they won’t… if you focus on getting the customer to IMPULSE BUY and on creating SCARCITY. To get a customer to want to impulse buy, you need to make them have an emotional reaction to the item that they are seeing. They need to look at it and really, really want it. That is why the guitar mug that we featured in this video sells so well - because it’s the perfect item for someone the both plays guitar and loves hot drinks. Scarcity is also very important. This is when you make the customer feel that they have a limited amount of time to take an action. A good way to create scarcity when dropshipping is to run limited-time-offers, e.g. you’ll sell the next 20 products at a 60% discount. This makes the customer take action and purchase it so they don’t miss out on the 60% discount. And, because they think they are already getting a good deal, they don’t bother to price-check the item against Aliexpress/Amazon.com. But with generic/boring products, it’s very difficult to make them impulse buy because the item is not very exciting and doesn’t appeal directly to something they love. In addition, it’s very hard to create scarcity because they can buy generic/boring products from anywhere cheaply. So stick to selling unique, original, special items. Why You Shouldn’t Dropship Product #4: Because It Doesn’t Have ePacket Shipping Make sure you ship items that have 2-3 week delivery options (like ePacket) so that customers get their items faster. This will make customer support a lot easier and you’ll get less emails from unhappy customers asking where their item is. Why You Shouldn’t Dropship Product #5: It Has TERRIBLE Photos Good photos showcase what is unique and special about an item. This item (electric bottle opener) does not do this at all. The unique element to this item is that you can watch the cork go up the bottle opener. However, the pictures do not show this at all. Instead, they are just photos of the actual product itself, which looks boring. As a new dropshipper, you will want to take advantage of free stock photos that your supplier provides, which means that you need to focus on dropshipping (and testing) products that have great photos as they are the most important part of the ad and product listing. How many points did you score? Let us know in the comments section below!

Porter's Five Forces - A Practical Example

07:46
According to Porter's five forces framework the competitive environment in an industry is influenced by five forces: • The Threat of new entrants; • The Threat of substitute products; • The Rivalry among existing firms; • The Bargaining power of buyers; • And the Bargaining power of suppliers. The five forces model teaches us that competition has multiple dimensions. It is important how many direct competitors we have, but it is also important if clients can choose to use alternative products, or if new entrants are likely to enter the market and increase current levels of competition. In addition, we shouldn’t forget that clients and suppliers can have a very strong bargaining power, and dictate the terms if the companies in an industry are unable to do anything about it. E-tail Product Return Prediction via Hypergraph-based Local Graph Cut

03:03
Authors: Jianbo Li (Three Bridges Capital); Jingrui He (Arizona State University); Yada Zhu (IBM) Abstract: Recent decades have witnessed the rapid growth of E-commerce. In particular, E-tail has provided customers with great convenience by allowing them to purchase retail products anywhere without visiting the actual stores. A recent trend in E-tail is to allow free shipping and hassle-free returns to further attract online customers. However, a downside of such a customer-friendly policy is the rapidly increasing return rate as well as the associated costs of handling returned online orders. Therefore, it has become imperative to take proactive measures for reducing the return rate and the associated cost. Despite the large amount of data available from historical purchase and return records, up until now, the problem of E-tail product return prediction has not attracted much attention from the data mining community. To address this problem, in this paper, we propose a generic framework for E-tail product return prediction named HyperGo. It aims to predict the customer's intention to return after s/he has put together the shopping basket. For the baskets with a high return intention, the E-tailers can then take appropriate measures to incentivize the customer not to issue a return and/or prepare for reverse logistics. The proposed HyperGo is based on a novel hy-pergraph representation of historical purchase and return records, effectively leveraging the rich information of basket composition. For a given basket, we propose a local graph cut algorithm using truncated random walk on the hypergraph to identify similar historical baskets. Based on these baskets, HyperGo is able to estimate the return intention on two levels: basket-level vs. product-level, which provides the E-tailers with detailed information regarding the reason for a potential return (e.g., duplicate products with different colors). One major benefit of the proposed local algorithm lies in its time complexity, which is linearly dependent on the size of the output cluster and polylogarithmically dependent on the volume of the hypergraph. This makes HyperGo particularly suitable for processing large-scale data sets. The experimental results on multiple real-world E-tail data sets demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of HyperGo. More on http://www.kdd.org/kdd2018/

How To Apply A Ceramic Coating To Your Car !!

17:29
Learn how to apply a ceramic coating to your car! In this video, I show you all the steps needed to properly prepare your car’s paint and how to protect your paint with ceramic coatings. Ceramic coatings are a form of paint protection, like carnauba waxes and paint sealants, but they have better durability. Carnauba waxes typically last 2-3 months and synthetic paint sealants last 5-6 months on average. Consumer level ceramic coatings last 1 to 2 years if well maintained. Professional grade coatings can last upwards of 2 years, all the way up to 7 years. Ceramic coatings are highly hydrophobic, meaning they repel water extremely well. Ceramic coatings also have self-cleaning properties, meaning your paint will keep itself clean of dirt, much more than traditional waxes or sealants. They also add a lot of gloss to your car’s paint. Here's a recap of the main advantages of ceramic coatings: - extreme durability (1 to 2 years for commercial versions) - amazing gloss - extremely hydrophobic, so water beads and sheets off the paint - self-cleaning properties make the car easier to wash - UV protection Ceramic coatings are also known as glass coatings and nano coatings. They pretty much are mean the same thing, as the main active component in them is silica (SiO2) which forms a glass layer on your car's paint, giving it protection and gloss. For the purposes of this video, I will apply what I believe to be one of the best ceramic coatings (one of the best glass coatings) available to the public, the CarPro CQuartz UK Edition on my own BMW 435i xDrive Gran Coupe M Sport. Gyeon Quartz also make a great ceramic coating in the form of their Mohs coating. Both products are easy to apply, easy to remove. Generic Top Level Domain Name Update

01:54
In June 2012, ICANN published its list of almost 2000 applied-for new generic top level domain names (gTLDs). Right now, we are currently in the period in which parties can object to these new gTLDs -- the objection period will close around the end of 2012. In this video, Monica Riva Talley, a director with Washington, DC-based intellectual property law firm Sterne, Kessler, Goldstein & Fox P.L.L.C., provides an overview of updates regarding the gTLD process, specifically focusing on the opening of the trademark clearinghouse, scheduled for this fall. -------------------------------------------------------- For related trademark videos, view the full playlist: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hddK0AbZlls&list=PLsh0bkNcquFJcG-AYrzZ-603Mn8yPi2Hj Subscribe to our channel for timely videos discussing critical trends and issues impacting IP, business strategy and monetization: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=SterneKesslerIPLaw Visit our website: http://www.skgf.com

You’ll also discover how to make it work better, so you can use less and get more effects And I’ll also reveal the #1 natural alternative to Cialis. A new discovery that actually works the same way as Cialis and similar drugs, but without any of the negatives. No drugs or diets. So if you want to improve your sex drive, optimize your hormones and increase blood flow for bigger, harder and fuller erections - so you can help avoid, reverse and fix “erectile problems”, then please watch this entire video. The future of your “sexual performance” could depend on it! Interesting History Let’s begin with a quick history about Cialis. First, this is a PDE5 inhibitor designed to treat erectile dysfunction. It’s also used to treat high blood pressure (pulmonary arterial hypertension) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). What interesting is that this is the 3rd PDE5 drug. Viagra was the 1st and Levitra was the 2nd. The main differences in these 3 drugs is that: Viagra has the shortest half life of 4 hours and needs to be taken on an empty stomach Levitra is a little longer with a 5 hour half-life. It’s more potent than Viagra, so a lower dosage is needed. Cialis is the longest, with an 18 hour half-life and you can take it with food, even though empty stomach is better. Levitra never gained much popularity… It’s very similar to Viagra, but milder in side-effects - but that’s only because a lower dosage is used.. However, when it comes the user preference, Cialis is a big winner simply because you don’t have to time it right before sex. You can take it in the morning and it’s in your system for a couple of days. So, you’re ready to go the entire time. However, keep in mind that Cialis is also SLOW to act and it does take a couple of hours to kick in, while Viagra takes only about 20-30 minutes. Sex Is Expensive Now, what’s crazy is that Cialis costs about $60 a pill. But hey, that’s cheaper than Viagra’s almost $75 a pill price.1.2 But, I get it. When a man can’t perform, he’ll do almost anything to make “it” work. And yes, there are generic versions you can buy overseas which costs less, but they are typically under dosed or faked. You could lose your money and never get your order. You’re also at risk with legal issues with the DEA, Customs, FDA and so forth. But, who cares… anything to get an erection, right?... The Side-Effects Unfortunately, Cialis has bunch of negative side-effects… similar to Viagra, such as: Headaches Vision problems Insomnia Back pain Sinus and nose problems Nausea and stomach issues Blood pressure issues Heart and stroke problems Liver and kidney issues But for sex, I think most guys will put up with these side-effects. … at least temporarily. Unfortunately, there are 3 main problems with Cialis and how well it works or doesn’t work Cialis doesn’t work in about 40-50% of users… and I’ll tell you why in a minute and how this can be fixed.7 … Sadly, it works even LESS in men with diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol or high blood pressure Cialis doesn’t work as well in “older” men over the age of 40. Ironically, it works better and has less side-effects in younger guys who don’t really need it. I’ll also tell you how this can be fixed in a minute. ======================================== ======================================== Thank you for watching. The whisper-quiet fan and soothing night light make it perfect to use throughout the night for a comfortable sleep. The built-in LED mood light can be set to any of its 7 color option, set to color-cycle mode or turned off with the touch of a button. Arctic Air sleek compact design fits nicely on your desk, nightstand or coffee table – wherever you need it! It’s great for dens, reading nooks, work, dorm rooms, offices, home offices, campers, work spaces, benches, basements, garages and more. It’s lightweight & even convenient for travel!
