Going Around the Capital of Italy, Rome

05:01
Rome, the Eternal City, is the capital and largest city of Italy and of the Lazio region. It is famous for being the home of the ancient Roman Empire, the Seven Hills, La Dolce Vita (the sweet life), the Vatican City and Three Coins in the Fountain. Rome, as a millennia-long center of power, culture (having been the cradle of one of the globe's greatest civilisations ever) and religion, has exerted a huge influence over the world in its roughly 2800 years of existence. The historic centre of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With wonderful palaces, thousand-year-old churches, grand Romantic ruins, opulent monuments, ornate statues and graceful fountains, Rome has an immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere, making it one of Europe's and the world's most visited, famous, influential and beautiful capitals. Today, Rome has a growing nightlife scene and is also seen as a shopping heaven, being regarded as one of the fashion capitals of the world (some of Italy's oldest jewelry and clothing establishments were founded in the city). With so many sights and things to do, Rome can truly be classified a "global city" Source: wikitravel.org/en/Rome

http://www.youtube.com/fashiontv MILAN - No one would be surprised to know that Milan is known as the capital of fashion and design. Perhaps this is best exemplified by the Armani/Casa display which is the Armani brand's collection of high-end mahogany furniture. Armani head Giorgio Armani makes an appearance as does fashion journalist Stefan Tonchi, the Editor-in-Chief of high fashion glossie W Magazine. The Versace Home display is filled with colorful cabinets and countertops, hued chairs, and the signature Versace log on vases and couch coverings. Missoni's signature prints are displayed on chairs and tables for their home collection. Rosita Missoni calls Milan a young, interesting city, as vibrant as the pillowcases created by her name brand. Other home design collections on display include Prada, Pucci, MaxMara's Bodum. Don't forget Mercedes-Benz, which shows off some of its most luxurious brand name cars. It is populated by 1,308,735 inhabitants. It is the most populated province in Italy, and it is the second biggest city in Italy (after Rome). Milan is the fashion capital of the world and its important influence on design, economics, opera, and the media make it amongst the world's top 18 Global cities, along with Moscow, Buenos Aires and Kuala Lumpur. Mediolanum was founded by Insubres, a Celtic people. It was captured by the Romans in 222 BC. Milan became very successful under the Roman Empire. Milan was ruled by the Spanish in the 1500s and the Austrians in the 1700s. During the Renaissance and the Romantic periods, Milan was a major cultural centre in the whole of Europe, famous for its literature and opera. During the war, the city was badly affected by Allied bombings and during the 50s and 60s, the city grew into being the wealthy and industrial metropolis it is today.

Capital of Fashion | Milan, Italy

Milan is the second-most populous city in Italy and the capital of Lombardy. The city proper has a population of about 1.3 million, while its urban area is the 5th largest in the EU with an estimated population of about 5,264,000. The massive suburban sprawl that followed the post-war boom of the 1950s–60s and the growth of a vast commuter belt, suggest that socio-economic linkages have expanded well beyond the boundaries of its administrative limits and its agglomeration, creating a polycentric metropolitan area of between 7 and 10 million people, stretching over the former provinces of Milan, Bergamo, Como, Lecco, Lodi, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Varese, Novara. The Milan metropolitan region is part of the so-called Blue Banana, the area of Europe with the highest population and industrial density, and one of the Four Motors for Europe. Fashion Capital of the World | Milan Travel Vlog Milan, Italy travel guide vlog style! Join me as I visit the smaller but more sophisticated city of Milan, Italy. This fashion mecca is one of the most visited cities in Italy, so tag along as I find out why. On this episode I start by visiting the smaller San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore church. One of the most visited tourist attractions I was surprised by the incredible architecture and paintings. Big things definitely come in small packages! Next up was one of the top things on my to do list: see the Last Supper by Da Vinci. The shortest tourist attraction I have ever been in, this epic painting is one you don´t want to miss. Finally end the first day of my trip by going to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. This shopping center has the most exclusive shops and restaurants. Not to mention a very cool dome. But the reason to come here is to spin around the bull on the ground. Most tourist come to do this as a sign of good luck ensuring your return to Milan. Milano / Milan, a metropolis in Italy's northern Lombardy region, is a global capital of fashion and design. Home to the national stock exchange, it’s a financial hub also known for its high-end restaurants and shops. The Gothic Duomo di Milano cathedral and the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent, housing Leonardo da Vinci’s mural “The Last Supper,” testify to centuries of art and culture. Watch 3D stereoscopic, 3D Anaglyph and 2D Full HD Videos from 3Dn360 Channel - which is the World's 3D / 360 Video Collection You can find the best 3D Videos, most popular 3D videos, most viewed videos Best 3D Effects in 3D Stereoscopic, 3D Anaglyph (three dimensional) This is a 3D video, need special 3D Glasses (red and cyan/blue) or special TV/Screen to view. How to make 3D Glasses - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIEn9... You can find the best 3D Videos, most popular 3D videos, most viewed videos. Stereoscopy (also called stereoscopic, or stereo imaging) is a technique for creating or enhancing the illusion of depth in an image by means of stereopsis for binocular vision[2]. The word stereoscopy derives from Greek στερεός (stereos), meaning 'firm, solid', and σκοπέω (skopeō), meaning 'to look, to see'.[3][4] Any stereoscopic image is called a stereogram. Originally, stereogram referred to a pair of stereo images which could be viewed using a stereoscope. 3D stereoscopic - Most stereoscopic methods present two offset images separately to the left and right eye of the viewer. These two-dimensional images are then combined in the brain to give the perception of 3D depth. This technique is distinguished from 3D displays that display an image in three full dimensions, allowing the observer to increase information about the 3-dimensional objects being displayed by the head and eye movements 3D Anaglyph - is the name given to the stereoscopic 3D effect achieved by means of encoding each eye's image using filters of different (usually chromatically opposite) colors, typically red and cyan. Anaglyph 3D images contain two differently filtered colored images, one for each eye. When viewed through the "color-coded" "anaglyph glasses", each of the two images reaches the eye it's intended for, revealing an integrated stereoscopic image.

ITALY: MILAN FASHION AUTUMN WINTER PREVIEW SHOWS

03:16
Italian/Eng/Nat The fashion crowd has descended on Italy's clothing capital - Milan - for the autumn- winter (fall-winter) 1997-98 preview shows - only to find spring bursting out all over. Instead of the fog that usually shrouds the city, the sun shone brightly Monday and temperatures hit a balmy 21 degrees Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit). Nevertheless it was a colder climate which was foremost in the minds of the fashion followers. It was just as well Milan was warm Monday, as Rushdi Malhas kicked-off the day's parades. The 32-year-old Saudi Arabian designer's creations began the day with a glimpse of what autumn-winter clothes may be like in warmer climes - figure-hugging garments in the colours of the desert night. With many of his models sporting body tattoos , Malhas showed off some of his traditionally-based Arab patterns, adapted for bikinis. SOUNDBITE: (English) "I really think fashion is a mood - everybody tries to dress up depending on his mood and his day. You wake up one day and you feel like wearing black and another day you feel like wearing colours because you're happy and things like this." SUPER CAPTION: Rushdi Malhas, Designer Then it was the turn of Giuliana Teso and her ready-to-wear collection in wool, tweed and velvet, with colours based on nature. The fall-winter 1997-1998 showings begin with labels generally not well known to a global audience, but they will culminate Sunday with Giorgio Armani, who put Italian ready-to-wear on the signature fashion map two decades ago. Other members of the "moda Milanese" will include Versace, Ferre, Fendi, Missoni and Moschino. The showings picked-up with the Erreuno and Soprani collections. Close fitting suits; infinite coats; tapered pants. Erreuno's house designer, Graziella Ronchi, says that this collection is a return to the label's original design philosophy - very simple and very chic. It follows a more experimental period which is said to have not found favour with the company's owners. If you follow Luciano Soprani's fashion hints, the big overcoat will be resurrected next season - but jackets will be small and unassertive. He says it's time for extra-long shirts; trouser suits, and long flowing dresses with draw- string waists. SOUNDBITE: (Italian) "Fashion is finally going towards a liberation of women and a new education in dressing - after all these years of total disregard of fashion during which we haven't seen any real dresses anymore - just other things." SUPER CAPTION: Luciano Soprani, Designer This winter fashion season is the longest - nine days - and the most packed in Italian history. In all, 104 shows are scheduled, in addition to evenings of art shows, photographic exhibitions, cocktail parties and dinners. Fashion has always been an important part of the country's cultural life and society, and Italians are well known for their attention to dressing-up well; "la bella figura", or good impression, remains traditional in the Italian way of living. Italian design became prominent ever since the 11th-16th centuries, when artistic development in Italy was at its peak. Cities such as Venice, Milan, Florence and Vicenza started to produce luxury goods, hats, cosmetics, jewelry and rich fabrics. During the 17th-early 20th centuries, Italian fashion lost its importance and lustre, and Europe's main trendsetter became France, with the great popularity of French fashion; this is due to the luxury dresses which were designed for the courtiers of Louis XIV. However, since the 1951-53 fashion soirées held by Giovanni Battista Giorgini in Florence, the "Italian school" started to compete with the French haute couture, and labels such as Ferragamo and Gucci began to contend with Chanel and Dior. In 2009, according to the Global Language Monitor, Milan, Italy's center of design, was ranked the top fashion capital of the world, and Rome was ranked 4th, and, despite both cities fell down places in subsequent rankings, in 2011, Florence entered as the 31st world fashion capital. FROM THE FASHION CAPITAL TO THE SWISS ALPS! | EUROPE TRAVEL VLOG | DAY 34

Day 34 - Milan, Italy to Zermatt Switzerland So Milan was basically just a stopover for me because I had to go there to get to Zermatt, and since I was doing a few little places in between Venice and Milan, decided it'd be best to spend the night there, so also got to spend a few hours there, which honestly is all I think I needed there. Went to a cool little outdoor flea market and had the classic Risotto Milanese while there, then went to the top of the famous Duomo Cathedral and inside of it, before heading on to Switzerland and riding the train through the beautiful Swiss Alps to get to the tiny town of Zermatt! Florence - Italy

01:58
Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and of the province of Florence. It is the most populous city in Tuscany, with approximately 370,000 inhabitants, expanding to over 1.5 million in the metropolitan area. Florence is famous for its history: a centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the wealthiest cities of the time, it is considered the birthplace of the Renaissance, and has been called "the Athens of the Middle Ages". A turbulent political history includes periods of rule by the powerful Medici family, and numerous religious and republican revolutions. From 1865–71 the city was the capital of the recently established Kingdom of Italy. The Historic Centre of Florence attracts millions of tourists each year, and Euromonitor International ranked the city as the world's 89th most visited in 2012, with 1.8 million visitors. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. The city is noted for its culture, Renaissance art and architecture and monuments. The city also contains numerous museums and art galleries, such as the Uffizi Gallery and the Palazzo Pitti, and still exerts an influence in the fields of art, culture and politics. Due to Florence's artistic and architectural heritage, it has been ranked by Forbes as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Florence is an important city in Italian fashion, being ranked in the top 50 fashion capitals of the world; furthermore, it is a major national economic centre, as a tourist and industrial hub. In 2008, the city had the 17th highest average income in Italy. Source: Wikipedia

ITALY: MILAN FASHION WEEK: LAURA BIAGIOTTI COLLECTION

02:41
English/Nat Laura Biagiotti has joined the designers exhibiting their latest creations in Italy's fashion capital, Milan. Her clothes range from elegant evening wear to sophisticated office wear designed to be worn throughout the year. 'Queen of cashmere' Laura Biagiotti lived up to her name in Tuesday's fall-winter collections in Milan. As usual she featured her favourite colour white. But this season's collection is designed to be worn throughout the year. The collection had a more modern look than her past designs which are bought mainly by mature women. SOUNDBITE: My inspiration is the contemporary life I think more I'm working around the logic of the working dress that can be in the meantime very sophisticated, very feminine and very elegant. I propose always very precious material such as cashmere - I'm well-known for that one, but this time I did the cashmere in a very soft transparent way - like chiffon cashmere because it's like a (? unclear) and the attitude is to have more season in the same collection no more dresses for the winter (? unclear) so these clothes are not for one season only. SUPERCAPTION: Laura Biagiotti, designer From evening wear to office wear. Biagiotti unwrapped a collection of pinstriped suits and dresses. And then on a brighter note - brightly-coloured cashmere jackets. Finally to end the show she featured low-cut sparkling eveningwear.
