Use NOCOPY to Improve Performance

05:15
The NOCOPY parameter hint tells the PL/SQL compiler to pass OUT and IN-OUT parameters "by reference" (meaning: do not copy in, nor copy out). The result is better performance and reduced PGA consumption. ====================================== Practically Perfect PL/SQL with Steven Feuerstein Copyright © 2015 Oracle and/or its affiliates. Primavera P6 Tutorial : Chapter - 2.2 : Getting Started - EPS,OBS || dptutorials

09:50
In this Chapter, let us understand Enterprise Project Structure EPS and Organization Breakdown Structure -OBS, and how to develop, create and add them in Primavera . Enterprise Project Structure - EPS is nothing but a cluster of projects. Database of projects arranged in a hierarchy is called as EPS. EPS can be sub-divided into many levels or nodes as needs to work parallel. Projects are the lowest level of hierarchy in EPS structure. You can summarize the projects for each node in the EPS. To View EPS- On the Home Screen, click on the Projects tab to view the EPS nodes or Projects. To Create or Modify EPS- Go to Menu Bar and select Enterprise- Enterprise Project Structure... and then in the next window click on Add to add any EPS Node and use the arrows to adjust the level of node. You can delete any unwanted EPS node by clicking on Delete button. You can Cut and paste the EPS to change or modify the position of the EPS node. You can filter the Projects in the EPS by status using the Filter Function. You can re-position the EPS Nodes by using the drag and drop function. Organizational Breakdown Structure - OBS represents the management responsible for each project. Each area manager in the EPS node is responsible for his area of EPS, either by node or by project and WBS of the particular hierarchy. The OBS hierarchy is also used to grant users specific access privileges to projects and the WBS levels within projects. To View OBS: You can view an OBS as a chart or a table. Choose Enterprise, OBS, to open the Organizational Breakdown Structure dialog box. View the OBS chart: Click the Display Options bar- Chart View. To change the information in the chart, click the Display Options bar and choose Chart Box Template,Customize. To Create OBS: Choose Enterprise, OBS. Select the OBS element immediately above and of the same hierarchy level as the element you want to add, then click “Add”. You can edit, delete move in this same window. Parallelizing Analytical Queries in PostgreSQL Webinar Recording

56:20
This is the recording of a webinar presented on June 10, 2015 by Marco Slot in which he discussed the need for sharding and parallel query execution to build an analytical dashboard for big data. He discussed different schemes for sharding tables, specifically range-partitioning and hash-partitioning, and their implications. He showed how CitusDB plans and executes distributed queries on sharded tables to correctly and efficiently push down most of the computation to a cluster of worker nodes. Finally, Marco talked about the pros and cons of using different sharding schemes in relation to parallel query performance and different data loading methods.

02:28
Course Description – sql2 COURSE DESCRIPTION: Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL consists of two modules, Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL Basics andOracle9i: Advanced SQL. Introduction to Oracle9i: SQL Basics covers creating database structures and storing, retrieving, and manipulating data in a relational database. Oracle9i: Advanced SQL covers advanced SELECT statements, Oracle SQL and iSQL*Plus Reporting. For people who have worked with other relational databases and have knowledge of SQL, another course, called Introduction to Oracle9i for Experienced SQL Users is offered. This course covers the SQL statements that are not part of ANSI SQL but are specific to Oracle.   The Oracle server extends the data modeling capabilities to support an object relational database model that brings object-oriented programming, complex data types, complex business objects, and full compatibility with the relational world. It includes several features for improved performance and functionality of online transactionprocessing (OLTP) applications, such as better sharing of run-time data structures, larger buffer caches, and deferrable constraints. Data warehouse applications will benefit from enhancements such as parallel execution of insert, update, and delete operations; partitioning; and parallel-aware query optimization. COURSE OBJECTIVES: in this course In Oracle9i, you can include the time zone in your date and time data, and provide support for fractional seconds. Three new data types are added to DATE: TIMESTAMP TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE (TSTZ) TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE (TSLTZ) Oracle9i provides daylight savings support for datetime data types in the server Create, maintain, and use sequences Create and maintain indexes Create private and public synonyms WHO SHOULD ATTEND?   COURSE OUTLINE:   Creating Views Other Database Objects Controlling User Access SQL Workshop Using SET Operators Oracle9i Datetime Functions Enhancements to the GROUP BY Clause Advanced Subqueries Hierarchical Retrieval Oracle9i Extensions to DML and DDL Statements
