15 MOST Luxurious Fashion Brands

11:15
From Oscar de la Renta to Chanel, here are some of the most lavish and prestigious fashion brands. Subscribe to Hindered Thoughts http://goo.gl/d3U3RP 6. Chanel The high fashion wear company was introduced to the world back in 1909 by none other than Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, otherwise known as “Coco Chanel.” This is where the brand gets its inspiration for the famously recognizable logo that is two interlocking C’s. The company specializes in creating haute couture for its wealthy clients but also for fashion models like Naomi Campbell, who once modeled for them, and actresses Marilyn Monroe, Keira Knightley, and Nicole Kidman. One of their most famous products is the perfume No. 5 de Chanel, along with the Chanel Suit. Today, Chanel is valued at being $6.8 billion dollars. An interesting fact to note is that Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director behind Fendi, happens to be the creative director for Chanel as well. 5. Prada Founded back in 1913 by Mario Prada, this fashion brand actually started out by manufacturing leather bags and trunks. It would then evolve into selling everything from clothing to perfume and even a brief stint of LG Prada cell phones. Though the brand may have broadened its inventory, it still spends the majority of its focus creating some of the world’s most exclusive handbags that only the rich and famous can possibly hope to afford. Mario Prada believed that women should not be involved in business so he excluded his own family members from getting involved. In a fantastic twist of irony, his son did not care to run the business so his daughter Luisa Prada took over as his successor and is now currently being run by her daughter Miuccia. 4. House of Versace The fashion empire that is the House of Versace all started with fashion designer Gianni Versace back in 1978. He created a brand that has been synonymous with elegance and simply oozes high fashion. His glamorous gowns have gone on to make a name for himself as a respected designer. Like the case of the famous black dress held with gold safety pins that actress Elizabeth Hurley wore back in 1994 to the premiere of Four Weddings and A Funeral. Sadly, Versace’s life was cut short in 1997 on the steps of his Miami mansion when he became the fifth and final victim of Andrew Cunanan. The tragic event will be the story behind American Crime Story’s season 2 titled: The Assassination of Gianni Versace. After his death, his sister Donatella became the new Artistic Director and has established a $5.5 billion company her brother would be proud of. 3. Gucci Started in 1921 by a Mr. Guccio Gucci, the company was originally dabbing in leather goods. It wasn’t until 19 years later when his son Aldo would take the company from being a one-stop shop into the fashion powerhouse that it’s now known for being. It’s Aldo that would usher in the era of the brand’s iconic “Bamboo Bag” and its “ready to wear segments.” In the 90’s, the company decided to bring American Fashion designer Tom Ford to revamp their women’s wear. He ended up helping launch the brand to where it is today. The fashion brand houses other well-known designers in its collections such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, and Yves Saint Laurent. If you’re in the market to do some shopping at this $12.4 billion brand, expect to spend at least $2,000. 2. Louis Vuitton This may come as a shock but the famous fashion brand has been around longer than you might have thought. Formed 163 years ago in 1854, a young man by the name of Louis Vuitton started out as an apprentice for a box-maker. Vuitton ended up becoming a well-known crafter of luxury trunks and opened up his own shop in Paris. He then ended up becoming the personal box-maker of Napoleon III’s wife, Empress Eugenie de Montijo. Fast forward years later and the company is now worth $28.1 billion with a generated revenue of $10.1 billion. Today, Louis Vuitton doesn’t make just trunks but designer handbags and clothing that can be spotted on the most famous of A-listers. 1. Balenciaga The beginning of Balenciaga’s reign began back in 1919 when it was established by its founder of the same name, Cristóbal Balenciaga. As a young child, Balenciaga became an apprentice to a tailor in his hometown of Getaria, Spain and would eventually get his formal training in Madrid. He would go on to create the House of Balenciaga and skyrocketed to success thanks to his artistic genius. He was hailed as the undisputed “ King of Fashion” and was highly respected among his peers which included the likes of Coco Chanel, Christian Dior, and Pierre Balmain. Balenciaga even helped train the likes of high-fashion designers Oscar de la Renta and Hubert Givenchy to name a few.

Dior Haute Couture | Fashion Designers

01:38
Watch more Fashion Designers and Fashion Brands videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/500165-Dior-Haute-Couture-Fashion-Designers Well Christian Dior launched a ready-to-wear line in New York in 1948 and the House of Dior includes many different lines. The reputation of the house was built on couture. In fact, at one point in the mid 50's it was said that the House of Dior was responsible for half of the couture sales in Paris. The couture designs established the looks for each season, and the look trickled down into mainstream fashions through department stores and through private clients who were instrumental in setting fashions. The couture designs established fashions that trickled down into all levels of fashion. Private people bought couture pieces. Department stores bought pieces to copy, and there were licensed copies that were sold. After the glory years of Dior couture in the 1950s, the business dwindled somewhat in later decades. Later designers, in particular John Galliano, really brought excitement back to the couture with over-the-top theatrical presentations. Some of his designs, obviously, were suitable only for the runway they were so theatrical and so over-the-top. Many of the designs are found in a modified form for gala evenings and runway creations. So the couture is really an important laboratory for designers where they work out their most extravagant concepts, and that's especially true at the House of Dior.

10 Tacky Fashion Brands That Are Making A Comeback

10:03
10 Fashion and beauty brands from the past that are cool again. Subscribe: https://goo.gl/Hnoaw3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Over the years, so many of our favorite brands have faded into oblivion thanks to not being able to adapt to the times. It’s not always easy to know what millennials will want regarding fashion, but it seems like the brands on this list are finally knocking it out of the park. You might be surprised to learn that some of the things that were considered fashion faux pas over the past decade are making a total comeback. Take Juicy Couture for example. Just two years ago you wouldn’t be caught grocery shopping in one of their tacky tracksuits. Yet, they are slated to have a show at New York Fashion Week in February 2018. They aren’t the only brand making a splash in the fashion world with a comeback. Brands like FILA, Coach, Birkenstock, and even Von Dutch are showing some promising gains in 2018. Yes, the same Von Dutch from the early 2000’s that everyone had to have! It’s back, and we might have Kylie Jenner to thank for it. How a Dior Dress is Made | Visionaire | Refinery29

04:28
Subscribe to the Refinery29 channel: http://bit.ly/subscribe-to-r29 “Couture” is a magic word. It conjures thoughts of impeccable craftsmanship, visionary design, and legendary fashion moments. But, most of us don't encounter haute couture very often, unless we're looking at a celebrity on the red carpet, a model on a catwalk, or a mannequin in a museum case. We wanted to get closer to couture — and to get you closer to couture — so we partnered with the legendary fashion publisher Visionaire to create this video, which tells the story of one dress from birth to runway. It’s a unique look inside the Dior atelier, where the team has been hard at work bringing creative director Raf Simons’ ideas to life. While an individual couture garment can take half a year to produce, here you will see the story of one dress (“Look #53,” in fashion-speak) come together in just a few minutes — from the first muslin pattern to the final style model Kinga Rajzak wore during yesterday’s haute couture show. It’s an incredible revelation, and when you discover what goes into these garments, the crazy prices on couture start to seem at least a little less crazy. While Look #53 is the star of the show, the video gives us the chance to reconnect with the rarely credited artisans and seamstresses we saw in Dior and I, as well as a cameo from Simons himself. Think of this as a mini-trip to Paris or a crash course into fashion’s highest form; either way, enjoy your couture, concentrated. Top 10 Richest Fashion Brands of All Time.

06:44
Top 10 Richest Fashion Brands of All Time: Levi, Dior, H&M or Louis Vuitton? Thanks to you and millions of label-loving people, fashion is big business. According to Statista, the U.S. apparel market is the biggest in the world, accounting for 28% of the global trade, or $331 billion. 10. Levi Strauss: worth $4.67 billion Rounding up our list is the inventor of jeans. Levi’s is still going strong despite challenges from upstart fashion labels. Levi’s company registers annual revenues of around $5 billion, propped up mainly by the popularity of its ‘shrink-to-fit’ 501s. It’s been the favorite of mods, rockers, hippies, skinheads, X-Y generations, and now, the millennials. 9. Coach: worth $4.76 billion It’s popular among fashionistas and people who love showing off their wealth through luxury items like Coach, which was founded in 1941. It’s the favorite of celebrities like Christina Hendricks and Elisabeth Moss for its durable and elegant handbags and wallets, among others. 8. Phillips-Van Heusen: worth $6.04 billion If the name is not familiar, try these: Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and, of course, Van Heusen. The company owns the three popular brands after buying off Calvin Klein in 2002 and Tommy Hilfiger in 2010. The company introduced the world’s first self-folding collar in 1919 and, today, it’s known for high-profile campaigns like David Beckham’s endorsements. The company also supplies neckties for DKNY and Ted Baker. 7. Estée Lauder: worth $9.71 billion The company is one of the first fashion labels to offer a wide selection of items, from clothing to perfumes, makeup and skincare. Behind the label are 40,000 employees that keep churning out millions of products to give Estée Lauder a whopping $10 billion gross sales in 2013 alone. The signature also owns luxury cosmetics, such as, Bobbi Brown, Clinique, M.A.C., and Jo Malone. 6. Richemont: worth $11.83 billion Relatively young, Richemont was founded in the eighties selling luxury watches, jewelry, clothing, and leather goods. The Swiss company owns through acquisitions some of the world’s most luxurious fashion brands, such as, Baume & Mercier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Piaget, and Montblanc. Likewise, it is behind the Cartier brand, dubbed the “jewelers of kings and king of jewelries” by the king of England, and the French Chloé. 5. Christian Dior: worth $11.91 billion It’s one of the top runway brands that produces a wide selection of both haute couture and off-the-rack clothing. Christian Dior is popular for its stylish perfumes and cosmetics, although it also sells luxury watches and jewelries. The French fashion house first gained fame for its shapes and silhouettes, creating voluptuous styles as opposed to the boxy shapes in post-war Europe. Today, the femme fatale-inspired House of Dior also caters to men through its Dior Homme division and children via Baby Dior. 4. The Gap: worth $15.65 billion One of the iconic fashion brands, The Gap attempted to rebrand its logo in 2010 only to be cowed by loyal customers to bring the old blue box back. The signature, popular among the younger set, was originally an exclusive retailer for Levi’s until the shop started to sell its own upscale jeans at the expense of Levi’s, seen by many as a “mature” denim brand worn by someone else’s father. Fashion is the function of youth, which makes The Gap richer than Levi’s. The company also owns Banana Republic and Old Navy brands. 3. Kering: worth $15.65 billion The signature sells luxury goods and sporting goods, including majority shares in Gucci, Saint Laurent and Sergio Rossi brands for fashion, and Puma, Cobra Golf, and Volcom for sports. Interestingly, its French founder, Francois Pinault, started the company as far removed from anything fashionable as possible, dabbling in wood trading and electrical materials. 2. H&M: worth $18.82 billion The Swedish retail fashion label is a high-street favorite sold in 53 countries that made billions selling “disposable fashion,” that is, it continuously updates its designs to project a trend-setter look. If you haven’t known yet, the ‘H’ stands for Hennes, Swedish “for her” and the ‘M’ means Mauritz, the name of the brand’s first retailer. H&M appeals to both haute-couture and off-the-rack markets so well that it made it to our number two place of the richest fashion labels ever. 1. LVMH: worth $37.14 billion It’s not by chance that the Louis Vuitton logo is set in gold, a color associated with luxury and wealth. The richest fashion label leaves its competitors in the dust, its value nearly twice that of its nearest contender. Louis Vuitton, in fact, is one of Forbes’ ten most valuable brands in the world last year, selling clothing, jewelry, luggage and perfume. But Christian Dior is not complaining; it’s the main holding company for LVMH with 40.9% of shares.

18:53
From the Ground Up, our brand new sneaker show is back with another episode diving into all things footwear. Last week, we explored the evolution of custom sneakers, but this week, we’re looking into high-end kicks and how they’ve crossed over into to the streetwear world. For our latest in-depth discussion, host Pete Forester sits down with Jackie Kim, associate fashion director of Barneys New York and Highsnobiety’s assistant editor Noah Thomas to share their thoughts on whether high-end sneakers like the Balenciaga Triple S should be grouped in with Air Jordans and other sportswear brands. They also examine what advantages designer sneakers have over more mainstream products. Avant-garde fashion designers produce beautiful garments that push the boundaries of conventional taste. In many ways, avant-garde pushes back against the trends in mainstream fashion in an attempt to create work that is more thoughtful and of a higher quality. With its emphasis on silhouette, drapery, asymmetry and unique textures, avant-garde fashion yields some of the most creative garments we see today. While fake Chanel hats and scarves and bags are really easy to find. Real Chanel only comes from the House of Chanel that was founded by Coco Chanel around 1915. The company produces couture ready to wear for women, renowned accessories, cosmetics, fragrances and jewelry. The cosmetics business is especially successful and they're seen as really innovated in skin care, but also as great colorists. Chanel No. 5 was introduced in 1921 and remains one of the bestselling fragrances in history and it's now a part of a line that has over 20 fragrances for men and women. Since its founding in 1915 the company has expanded immensely, but, it still represents principles established by Coco herself.

Tom Ford: Tom Ford, counted among the most famous designers today, whose portfolio includes serving as a creative director for both Yves Saint Laurent and Gucci, wanted to be actor when he was growing up. He was born in Texas and even took training to be an actor. But fate had other “designs” for him. Tom ford popularity as a designer reached peaks when in the year 2000, he was declared the winner of the Best International Designer Award. 7. Christian Dior: Born in January of 1905, this French designer was best known for his distinctive “New Look” silhouette. Today, talented designer John Galliano carries on the legendary designer’s legacy in Paris, where he creates dramatic couture ball gowns, chic prêt-a-porter, and luxurious accessories for Dior. 6. Ralph Lauren: Ralph Lauren is worth $7.5 billion, and he got it all because of his fashion sense. In 1970, the first Polo logo was seen in Lauren’s line of women’s suits that was designed in the classic men’s style. Two years later, the famous short sleeve shirt with the Polo emblem appeared, and it soon became a classic. Lauren has been collecting rare and classic cars. The collection is so unique that it has been featured in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. 5. Donatella Versace: She is the sister of Gianni Versace. After the murder of Gianni in 1997, Donatella took over and has taken the Versace name to new heights. He formed his company, Armani, in 1975, and by 2001 was acclaimed as the most successful designer to come out of Italy, with an annual turnover of $1.6 billion and a personal fortune of $7 billion as of 2012. Armani is also the first ever designer to ban models who has a Body Mass Index under 18. 2. Donna Karan: Donna Karan came from a background that was related to fashion in certain ways. This fashion designer worked as a head of a design team for a few number of years and launched some designs that included the very well-known ‘Seven Easy Pieces’. She is the sole creator of the DKNY label (Donna Karen New York). Since then, this label has seen many new additions in the fashion segment. 1. 03:22
Artist: https://www.instagram.com/nastya_kosyanova/ http://nastyakosyanova.com/ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From cute daily outfits to stunning ball gowns, Disney princesses have always been the main fashion inspiration to little girls all around the world. While we nostalgically dream of puffy dresses and glass slippers, we have to admit – they are pretty old-fashioned and wouldn’t make it onto a modern runway or the cover of a fashion magazine. What brands and clothes would Disney princesses choose if they lived in modern times? Russian artist Anastasia Kosyanova knows the answer to this question and shares it with all fashionistas worldwide. One thing is sure, befitting a true princess, these girls would definitely go on haute couture shopping. From Prada to Versace, our favorite princesses certainly know their worth and are ready to make a fashion statement. Based in Yessentuki, Anastasia discovered her talent for drawing and fashion when she was a little girl, so at the age of 17, she began Costume Design studies at university. Now, at 28, in addition to her job as a fashion illustrator, she pampers her 78,000 followers on Instagram with stylish artworks. Anastasia knows all about style, trends and brands which combined with admiration for Disney princesses, results in a glamorous Vogue-worthy collection. These Disney fashionistas can teach you a thing or two about rocking the best street outfits, so look closely and enjoy a free fashion consultation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBSCRIBE: http://www.youtube.com/c/DailyFunFacts Note ▶ ✅ I do not own the image or the music in my video. Fast Fashion Is Disgusting (you need to stop shopping at fashion nova, zara, and primark)

15:12
This is a video that I've need to make for a long time. And I'm happy it's coming out now! Throughout my time on Youtube I've shit on fast fashion brands without giving a real explanation, so here it is. This video is not meant to attack anyone, it's rather just me showing you guys something that you might not have known about how your clothes are made. Hopefully, we can change the way fashion currently works and with just a little bit of work and being defiant, I think it's possible. Karl Lagerfeld - fashion designer and icon | DW Documentary

42:26
Karl Lagerfeld - the name stands for much more than just fashion. What makes the fashion icon so successful? Who’s the man behind the sunglasses? Designer, artist, fashion icon, also known as "Kaiser Karl." No living fashion designer, let alone a German one, is as celebrated as Karl Lagerfeld. On September 10, the man with the trademark ponytail and sunglasses will celebrate his 85th birthday - it’s believed. From dawn to late morning, Karl Lagerfeld designs for Chanel, Fendi and his own signature brand - a combined workload of up to 15 collections a year. A workhorse who never takes breaks or even a vacation, he is also a photographer and filmmaker. His passion for fashion was awakened by a Dior show in Hamburg in 1950. Four years later, at the age of 17, Karl Lagerfeld was hired as an assistant to Pierre Balmain. Karl Lagerfeld recounts his beginnings in the industry, as well as his upper class background and childhood in Schleswig-Holstein. Karl Lagerfeld was greatly influenced by his mother, whom he describes as his personal style icon. Karl Lagerfeld's caustic comments are notorious and dreaded by those at the receiving end. As an artist, Karl Lagerfeld works in several media, from pictures and photographs to book illustrations and videos. The documentary follows Karl Lagerfeld to exhibition openings, during the hectic preparations for his fashion shows, and at photo shoots in Paris as it seeks to uncover the man behind the mask. _______ DW Documentary gives you knowledge beyond the headlines. Gucci Accessories | Fashion Designers

01:50
Watch more Fashion Designers and Fashion Brands videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/500170-Gucci-Accessories-Fashion-Designers Gucci added eye wear and silk scarves to their reputory of products including a flower pattern that they designed especially for Princess Grace of Monaco, the former Grace Kelly which was called Flora. They added a perfume in 1974. It was called Number One and specific Gucci design details have become very famous. One of the design details is the use of bamboo handles on their handbags which actually grew out of material shortages during World War Two. Their head designer couldn't get as much leather as he wanted so he started using bamboo handles and that's become a very Gucci detail. Then of course there's the red and green stripes that we see on shoes and handbags and other accessories and there's also the two interlocking Gs that make the Gucci logo. Those are of course the initials of the founder, Guccio Gucci. The 1970s were really like a high time for Gucci and they initiated a ready to wear line and a lot of the clothes had fur and leather trim. Obviously that was very appropriate for Gucci because that was really their business, but by the 1980s the brand had lost a little bit of its luster due in part to some scandals within the family, but just also changing fashions. By the end of the 80s the time was right to renovate the brand. That's a little bit about the history of Gucci, some of their accessories and the company history leading up to the 1980s.

Is Haute Couture going to die? ǀ Justine Leconte

06:59
Compared to Prêt-à-Porter, Haute Couture is the dream, the fashion week that makes students go to fashion school to study fashion design. Couture is hand-made, made to order, it requires hours of work and it is only for the happy few who can afford a 10,000$ dress. How comes we have Couture fashion week and ready-to-wear fashion week? How comes we have both things within the fashion industry, which fashion houses do both? Why is Haute Couture so expensive? Thumbs up if you liked this video :-) New videos: Wednesday 4pm & Sunday 12pm (Paris/Berlin time). Take care! Fashion Nova Tops Google's Most Searched Fashion Brands

00:34
On Wednesday, Google published its 2018 Year in Search report. Fashion Nova squashed couture competition, becoming the top spot as the most searched brand of the year. They are in the company of luxury brands that include Alexander McQueen, Moschino and Dior. Business Insider explains that Fashion Nova's success is partially thanks to "endorsements on Instagram from influencers and celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Cardi B." Couture brands have also stayed relevant and reached younger consumers by partnering with streetwear brands and also linking up with celebrities. In addition to Fashion Nova, the top five searched fashion brands are Louis Vuitton, Versace, Givenchy and Gucci. https://www.businessinsider.com/fashion-nova-louis-vuitton-most-searched-fashion-brands-2018-12 http://www.wochit.com This video was produced by YT Wochit Business using http://wochit.com
