With the world premiere of an extraordinary car on the eve of the New York International Auto Show (March 30 to April 8, 2018), the British car manufacturer MINI once again demonstrates its appetite for purely electric driving with a new take on an icon. The classic Mini Electric combines the historic look of the world’s favorite small car with groundbreaking drive technology for tomorrow's urban mobility. With this unique vehicle, MINI sends out a clear signal demonstrating its commitment to retaining the brand’s unmistakable character whilst embracing innovative zero local emission technology. The classic Mini Electric is the result of an imaginary journey through time, where the story of classic model is extended by a consecutive chapter. The original from the second half of the 20th century becomes a sympathetic ambassador for environmental awareness and a form of sustainable mobility whose future has just begun. The urban electro mobility landscape will soon benefit from the arrival of a brand new model, packed with charisma, individual style and driving fun. The MINI Electric Concept was announced at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, and paves the way for the brand’s first all-electric vehicle which will be unveiled in 2019 - just in time for the 60th anniversary of the classic Mini. The fully electric production vehicle is currently in development, based on the MINI 3 Door, and will be produced for the first time at MINI Plant Oxford next year. MINI is once again assuming a pioneering role for sustainable mobility within the BMW Group. In 2008, the brand presented the MINI E – based on the predecessor model of the current MINI 3 Door, about 600 examples were produced and used in a field trial under everyday conditions. This trail played a central role in paving the way for the development of the BMW i3, which has enjoyed worldwide success since 2013 (combined power consumption: 13.6 - 13.1 kWh / 100 km, combined CO2 emissions: 0 g / km). On the way to a new era in electro mobility, MINI has already taken another step forward. In the MINI Cooper SE Countryman ALL4 Plug-In Hybrid model (fuel consumption combined: 2.3 - 2.1 l / 100 km, combined power consumption: 14.0 - 13.2 kWh / 100 km combined with CO2 emissions from fuel: 52 - 49 g / km), the combination of an internal combustion engine with an electric drive provides a system output of 165 kW / 224 hp and an intelligent hybrid-specific all-wheel drive system. The capable five-door model in the premium compact segment guarantees driving pleasure on any terrain. The vehicles draws its power from both engines for powerful acceleration, whilst retaining the ability to drive at up to 125 km / h in purely electric mode. With these qualities, the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 makes a significant contribution to the global market success of the BMW Group's electrified vehicle fleet. By contrast, the classic Mini Electric presented in New York will remain unique. A late and carefully restored example of the classic Mini Cooper serves as the basis for this special vehicle. The exterior red paint is complemented by a contrast white roof and characteristic bonnet strip, with the yellow MINI Electric logo in the brand emblem and on the wheel hubs. The electric classic remains true to the brand, both in terms of its visual appearance and driving characteristics. The spontaneous power of its electric motor provides a new dimension to the unmistakable go-kart feeling that helped propel the British small car in its original form to worldwide popularity. Very responsive handling and manoeuvrability and surprisingly comfortable. HISTORY FILE A comprehensive history file waits to be presented to the new owner of this one-off creation. The project commenced in 2007 from a low owner structurally sound Mini Neon purchased by father David Lewthwaite for his daughter as her first car when she turned 17. Vast sums of money as evidenced by numerous invoices were poured into this special vehicle to make it unique and importantly safe. Once completed and with little use a brand new Mini Convertible was ordered and the preferred choice. The total cost of this project far exceeds the asking price and KGF Classic Cars found a new owner for the car in August 2014 in record breaking time! The new owner, Mr Haldron, covered 4,500 miles and maintained the car impeccably before contacting us when needing to change due to work commitments and is again luckily ready for a new owner to drive, show and thoroughly enjoy! MOT Aug 2016, HPI Clear and Approved Used Car Check.

New Car: David Brown Mini Remastered review The David Brown Automotive Mini Remastered ‘Inspired by Monte Carlo’ – just as long in name as in asking price, then – is a reimagining of the iconic Mini, but with neater styling and a modern twist. It’s built by the same company that brought us the £600,000 Speedback GT. Now based at Silverstone in shiny new headquarters, David Brown Automotive had reckoned on building 50-100 per year, but with the number of people who have shown ‘serious interest’ in the car since its April unveiling now in the thousands, the company is expecting to build many more than that. This Monte Carlo version is the range-topping limited edition model, just 25 of which will be built. It gets more power than the standard car and a unique Rascasse Red and Ice White paint scheme. The cheapest version, incidentally, is the Classic, which starts at around £75,000. It takes 1400 hours to turn a donor car into a Mini Remastered. The only components that are carried over from the donor are the engine and gearbox, both of which are rebuilt, and the VIN. Everything else, including the bodyshell, is brand new. The shell itself is stiffened with additional structural bracing and the Mini’s various gutters and seams are reprofiled or removed entirely to clean up the styling. The quality of the fit and finish, as well as the paintwork, is very good indeed. Whether or not that justifies the asking price is another matter. The cabin, meanwhile, gets high quality leather and a bespoke dashboard with lots of attractive details, such as knurled aluminium knobs for the ventilation controls. There’s also air conditioning and even a Pioneer infotainment system with sat-nav and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto mobile phone compatibility. Additionally, the seats are redesigned to be more comfortable and more supportive, while the boot is now leather-lined. David Brown Automotive has turned the original Mini into a tiny luxury car. As for standard equipment the Mini Remastered gets halogen headlights, a logo-engraved fuel filler cap, a single exhaust, a leather upholstery, air conditioning, not to mention no cost options that can be added such as branded floor mats, LED illuminated instrument cluster and various 12in alloy wheel options. The optional extras list also makes for interesting reading, with the chance to upgrade both the engine power and braking performance of the Mini, alongside modern luxuries such as LED headlights, heated front windscreen and a twin exhaust system. While the staple aggressive Cibies that adorned numerous Minis of old are also available too. It’s a £99,000 Mini, and the Mini Remastered simply isn’t designed to be rational purchase. Instead, it’s intended to appeal to the affluent fashion-conscious city dweller, perhaps those who owned original Minis in their youth. As a matter of fact, David Brown Automotive has seen a huge cross section among those who have put down deposits. Orders have come in from all over the world, too. As Singer Vehicle Design has demonstrated with its reimagined 911s, there’s enormous appetite out there for iconic cars that have been made more usable with modern technology and updated with a fresh aesthetic. Given how adored the original Mini is, it’s hardly a surprise that a Mini without the inconveniences has proven to be so popular. There’s no getting around the fact the Mini Remastered is extremely expensive. It’s also a very likeable and characterful little thing, though, and it’s been finished to a high standard. Pricey or not, David Brown Automotive won’t be able to build them fast enough. Electric cars are often criticized for the unconventional and even ugly looks, and by many accounts this is the major reason why EVs are not going mainstream. So to play it safe manufacturers and auto workshops have decided to take inspiration from classic car designs and either build brand new or convert old models into electrified retro beauties. After all, classic designs cannot be called ugly, can they? In this episode at #AutomotiveTerritory we will be showing you the most successful and visually stunning examples of electrification. Brand new mild steel RC40 (single silencer) on my wife's otherwise standard 1999 Mini. She didn't want anything too noisy but wanted a bit more of a Mini sound. It definitely starts to bring out some of that A-series BWARP! Also fitted with a new catalytic converter - thanks rusted up cat bolts! - but I can't imagine a new vs. old cat would make much difference to the sound...

It's much more time consuming to hand-carve a cast iron head, but we use some of the same techniques to deburr the casting of sharp edges and awkward transitions. This is the head we installed on our super 1345cc in our 67 Moke.

An energized variant of the first Mini has been uncovered at the New York engine show to stress the brand's electric desire. In light of a late form of the main Mini that has been totally reestablished, the auto's unique four-chamber motor has been swapped for an unadulterated electric powerplant that utilizations 30 lithium-press phosphate batteries to empower a scope of 65 miles. Top speed is 75mph. Smaller than normal said the completed auto blends "the brand's unmistakable character while grasping zero nearby emanation innovation". That the New York indicate auto comes one year before Mini dispatches its first arrangement creation electric model, which will be founded on the three-entryway auto, is no happenstance. As Mini specialists are attempting to move the auto towards creation, the brand's showcasing division is attempting to build familiarity with Mini's forthcoming model. The Classic Mini Electric, which is an irregular, is in this manner delivered to indicate how the first city auto formula can be adjusted to include the extremely most recent in drive innovation. At the core of the new MINI brand identity lies an awareness of traditional values combined with the spirit of future-oriented development. This philosophy is also reflected in the visual appearance of the British premium brand, of which the central element is the MINI brand logo. The current interpretation of the globally familiar logo takes the form of a reduced design that focuses on the essentials. It will be seen on all current MINI models from March 2018 onwards. The new MINI logo draws on the three-dimensional style of depiction that has existed since the relaunch of the brand in 2001, applying this to a form of visual expression known as "flat design" that homes in on the key graphic elements. The preservation of the fundamental, tradition-steeped motif of a winged wheel with the brand name printed in capital letters at the centre ensures the logo will be instantly recognised. The deliberate avoidance of shading and grey tones creates a starkly contrasting black-and-white effect that conveys the authenticity and clarity of the new brand identity, its two-dimensional character also allowing universal application. The new logo will be applied as a product label to all MINI models – on the bonnet, at the rear, at the centre of the steering wheel and on the remote control. The latest redesign ushers in another chapter in the varied history of the MINI brand logo. There is an especially striking similarity with the signet introduced for the classic Mini in the mid-1990s. At that time, the brand name also appeared in uppercase letters in the middle of a circle with stylised wings. This combination of the wheel and wing symbols dates back to the very early years of the classic Mini. When the British Motor Corporation (BMC) put the Morris Mini-Minor on the market together with the structurally identical Austin Seven in 1959, the former bore the logo of the Morris brand. This featured a red ox and three blue waves – the symbol of the city of Oxford – which appeared inside a circle with two stylised wings to the left and right. By contrast, the sibling model – which went by the name of Austin Mini from 1962 onwards – bore its hexagonal logo above the radiator grille, showing the brand's inscription and emblem. Two additional individual variants of the revolutionary small car also appeared under two other BMC brand names – Wolseley and Riley. The Wolseley Hornet and the Riley Elf were more distinguished in their design, not only featuring a modified body and exclusive fittings but also bearing their own distinctive brand logo in each case. It was not until 1969 that the multiple identity of the classic Mini came to an end. From then on it was produced solely at the Longbridge plant in the UK and at the same time was given the sole, illustrious model designation of Mini. To mark this step, the classic Mini was also given a new logo: the motif here was a classic emblem featuring an abstract design that had no similarity at all with the original symbols. The so-called Mini shield remained in use for decades, its design being adapted on a number of occasions. Numerous special classic Mini models were given individually designed logos, though all of them were based on the universal emblem format. The new edition of the Mini Cooper in 1990 saw a change to these strict principles: there was now a return to traditional logo design and a focus on the sporting merits of the classic Mini. A chrome-plated wheel with stylised wings echoed the Morris Mini-Minor logo, but instead of the ox and waves, the red inscription "MINI COOPER" now appeared with a green laurel wreath against a white background. In 1996 this variant was then applied to the other models with a modified background and the inscription "MINI" – the light inscription standing out against a green background. Just a few years later during relaunch preparations for the brand – which today belongs to the BMW Group – the decision was made to redefine not just the MINI identity but also its logo. In this case, the logo design most recently used for the classic Mini was taken as a basis and consistently modernised. At its premiere in November 2000 the modern MINI appeared with a high-quality, three-dimensional logo design featuring the brand inscription in white against a black background. The chrome wheel and stylised wings remained unchanged for nearly 15 years and became the globally familiar symbol of driving fun, individual style and premium quality in a small car of the 21st century. The new MINI logo likewise reflects a clear commitment to the tradition of the British brand, which now stretches back almost 60 years. Get More Great Car Videos - Subscribe: https://goo.gl/BSIaFc

The drivetrain remains the trusted 1,275cc original along with a four-speed gearbox; both are reconditioned units instead of box-fresh ones, but they feature brand-new parts. There's 79 horsepower on offer, which is plenty of poke for a Mini. Each of the cars will take about 1,000 hours to make, by hand. The plan is to build 100-200 of these Mini re-creations per year, at David Brown's new facility in Silverstone, England. In two years, only 11 Speedbacks have been built, so the Mini should create a bit more buzz at the workshop. But the price? Starting from $62,000 at current rates, going all the way to $86,000 if you want one with all the trimmings. A lot for a Mini, but it's going to be special.

Taking it a few steps further, we infused the same experiences and lifestyles offered by MINI into designing the space. As with MINI's tagline of "... energises peoples’ lives with maximal experiences and a minimal footprint; small in size and iconic in design.", we wanted to build that immediate sense upon entering this iconic showroom on the 4th Floor of Auto Bavaria dealership along Jalan Tun Razak. There are break out spaces such as the casual discussion space equipped with a TV, a lifestyle pantry with a bar table filled with daily pastries and desserts, classic MINI lounge chill corner and cool open retail merchandizing corner. Colours are minimalized, replaced with more variety of "real" material that give depth and rustic colours. The limited number of cars are displayed more sparsely and allow for room for guests to meander around them, allowing ample of room for events and launchings. http://www.nuinfinity.com/ https://www.facebook.com/nuinfinitystudio
