10 MOST DANGEROUS OCEAN CREATURES IN THE WORLD

10:17
10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

See How It Feels to Be an Ocean Animal Stuck in a Plastic Bag | National Geographic

01:30
Imagine being trapped inside a huge plastic bag. Each year, more than a million marine creatures and other birds and animals die from plastic trash. In the week leading up to World Oceans Day 2016, National Geographic took to the National Mall in Washington, D.C., with a plastic bag large enough to bring this issue to life at a human scale. This dramatization featuring National Geographic video staff simulates the experience of marine creatures that become trapped in plastic and can't escape. The plastic bag, created by art collective Red Dirt Studio, will be recycled through D.C.'s Office of Recycling. 20 INVISIBLE Animal Photos

08:58
From tiny pygmy seahorses to giant giraffes, these are 20 INVISIBLE Animal Photos that will shock you! Lets see how many you can spot. 10. This picture taken by photographer Art Wolfe in Oregon shows the great disappearing ability of Grey Owls. It is somewhat easy to spot if you know what you are looking for, but prey, and predator alike, do not have the luxury of examining every tree branch so closely ! 9. This sleepy owl has nothing to worry about because of the great spot it chose to take a nap. The beautiful color of its feathers blends in with the color of the tree trunk surrounding it. 8. Nothing to see here, just an ordinary tree, with an extra ordinary frog on it ! Even though our brains are great at detecting patterns and faces in the wild, this gray tree frog is still tough to make out. The photographer did an amazing job showcasing just how well these frogs can hide from predators and prey alike. They vary in color depending on exact locations and with many different sub species, these frogs are found all over North America and Europe. 7. Piet Grobler took this awesome picture of multi colored rocks… the spider is just an afterthought ! In reality, this is a sub species of the aptly named wolf spider. If this photo didn’t freak you out enough, here is one of a female wolf spider carrying her young. They are venomous, and after enough provocation, they will bite ! So be careful if you are trying to take your own close up photo ! 6. Coral reefs are hotspots for divers because they offer some of the most breathtaking underwater sceneries. Sometimes, the breath taking part can last forever. Especially if you don’t notice that one of the most venomous fish known, the stone fish ! Even though there are only a few reported cases of fatalities from stonefish stings, it is still considered one dangerous fish to step on!! 5. Perfect placement for the perfect camouflage, this photograph is the best example of the common baron caterpillar’s ingenuity . These little creatures can be found, if you look hard enough, in Southeast Asia, and India. 4. Tree branches are the perfect hiding spot for birds that like to sleep during the day. Can you spot the the Tawny Frogmouth in this photo? The angle at which the bird sleeps is perfectly aligned with the decaying tree, making it possible to have peace and quiet. These birds are native to Australia and their diet consists of mostly farm pests, this makes them very popular among farmers who want to protect their land ! 3. At first glance, this photo seems incredibly boring. Just a close up of some tree branches and leafs. Can you spot the insect? No it is not another leaf tailed gecko hiding in plain sight. This time around, it is walking stick. These creatures have many different names and subspecies, each one having its own talents and unique looks, with one common denominator. They all look like sticks ! At this point, you might be asking yourself, just how BIG can these stick insects get ? The biggest one on record is almost two FEET (54 cm) long ! The specimen was found in Vietnam and was considered to be a newly discovered species ! 2. Next time you are taking a dip off the coast in Southern Australia, beware of aptly named leafy sea dragon. This wizard of disguise resembles seaweed, and all the leafy extras dangling around are used for nothing more than camouflage, as this picture shows, it would be very easy to swim by this sea dragon and not even take a second look. 1. No list of great deceivers and shocking invisible animals would be complete without the MIMIC octopus. This photo of the elusive creature shows how the mimic octopus can become one with the white sandy ocean floor. The only thing you can clearly make out are the protruding eyes. 14 Ocean's Deadliest Creatures

07:51
Here are the top 14 dangerous and some even poisonous creatures in the ocean it's terrifying to think they are under there waiting!! 7. Megalodon Megalodon is an extinct species of shark that lived millions of years ago. They were a lot like the great white sharks of today only much bigger. While great whites can reach a length of 20 feet, Megalodon’s could reportedly reach a ridiculous length of nearly 60 feet. Their teeth have been found across the globe from Australia to Japan and as far north as England and Denmark. 6. Killer Whales Being an apex predator means you have no natural predators. Essentially these are the animals at the top of the food chain. Killer, or Orca, whales are considered apex predators and have been known to kill great white sharks, leopard seals, and even other whales. Like wolves, they have a tendency to hunt in packs. Wild orcas don't pose any threat to humans, but there have been incidents in which captive orcas have killed or seriously injured their handlers at marine theme parks. These events highlight the fact that people should probably stop keeping killer whales in captivity rather than any indication that orcas are potentially dangerous to humans. 5. Stingrays Stingrays are usually very passive and gentle around human beings. But if they feel vulnerable in any way they have barbed stingers on their tails that inflict notoriously painful stings that can be deadly when hit in the chest or abdomen. Since stingrays spend a lot of time camouflaging on the seafloor humans often step on them accidentally and end up with a very sore foot to show for it. The world just recognized the ten year anniversary of popular wildlife expert Steve Irwin’s death, who was fatally stung by a stingray on September 4, 2006. 4. Leopard Seal Most seals are relatively harmless and pose no threat to human beings. Leopard seals, however, are not your average run of the mill seal. They are the only seals that eat warm-blooded prey, and the females are larger than the males, another oddity amongst seals. They eat penguins, smaller seals and squid using their powerful jaws, sharp teeth, and clever hunting tactics. In 2003 a British marine biologist was fatally attacked by a leopard seal while snorkeling off of the Antarctic Peninsula. It was the first time a fatal seal attack was recorded, and though seal attacks are rare scientists speculate that the more humans interact with these seals, the more attacks there will be in the future. 3. Box Jellyfish Amongst the world’s most poisonous creatures, this unassuming ocean dweller is responsible for many fatalities annually. Many countries don’t require death certificates, so the exact number isn’t known, but judging from the fact that 20 to 40 people die every year in the Philippines alone, it’s safe to assume that box jellyfish are one of the ocean’s deadliest creatures. Their tentacles are covered with cnidocyst, which contains a tiny dart loaded with a poison that can cause a rapid spike in blood pressure leading to a potentially fatal heart attack. These facts have led some to call the box jellyfish the world’s most venomous creature. 2. Sharks When talking about the ocean’s deadliest predators, sharks are usually the first creatures to come to people’s minds. Though their reputation does have some basis in reality, it is cultural references like the Jaws movie franchise and the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week that have ballooned the shark’s reputation to all new somewhat undeserving heights. There are around 500 species of sharks, but only three, the great white, tiger and bull sharks are responsible for double-digit fatalities. From 1948 to early 2016 there were 2,899 total unprovoked shark attacks recorded around the world, 548 of which were fatal. In comparison, you are more likely to be killed by a falling aircraft or riding a horse. 1. Saltwater Crocodile The saltwater crocodile has two things going for it that help to make them the ocean’s deadliest. These beasts are the largest reptiles on the planet, reaching weights of up to 2,600 pounds and have the most powerful bite on earth, ten times stronger than that of the great white shark. Of all crocodiles, this territorial species is the most likely to treat humans as prey. There are a few fatal saltwater crocodile attacks per year in Australia, with many more attacks from different areas of the world that are believed to go unreported.

National geographic - Sea Monsters Ocean Documentary - BBC wildlife animal documentary

National geographic - Sea Monsters Ocean Documentary - BBC wildlife animal documentary An ocean (from Ancient Greek Ὠκεανός, transc. Okeanós, the sea of classical antiquity[1]) is a body of saline water that composes much of a planet's hydrosphere.[2] On Earth, an ocean is one of the major conventional divisions of the World Ocean, which covers almost 71% of its surface. These are, in descending order by area, the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern, and Arctic Oceans.[3][4] The word sea is often used interchangeably with "ocean" in American English but, strictly speaking, a sea is a body of saline water (generally a division of the world ocean) partly or fully enclosed by land.[5]

25 Bizarre Animal Photos Explained

08:51
From really massive snakes that are ready to attack, to the strange creature that washed up on a beach, join us for 25 Animal Photos Explained #10 … Coconut Crab -- Weighing in at over 9 pounds, this is the largest land-dwelling arthropod on earth. As you can tell from the photo, it’s also known as the robber crab. If you see one trying to raid your garbage can, leave that work to the professionals. Those pincers are strong enough to break open coconuts … hence the name. #9 … Scary Emu … Looks like someone or something got this Emu’s dander up … The animal got so upset it actually grew a row of digital shark’s teeth in its mouth. The bird is real but the teeth are fake, of course. But this doctored photo went viral in 2014, claiming to illustrate some friendly Aussie wildlife. #8 … Top Heavy -- Real horns for the Ankole-Watusi, a breed of cattle that’s native to Africa. Those huge horns can grow to 8 feet long from tip to tip, are used for defense … Just so long as the animal can keep its head upright, it should have no problem keeping attackers at bay. #7 … Canine Keeping Cool -- No dog would be crazy enough to take a seat on top of a group water buffalos, right? But this pooch did exactly that in 2012, keeping its cool while the bigger animals were cooling off in the Ravi River in Lahore Pakistan. #6 … Higher than the Average Bear -- It only looks like this bear is defying the laws of gravity. The animal really did manage to climb up a tree after wandering into a Boulder Colorado college campus. Wildlife officials brought the big guy down after tranquilizing it … and thoughtfully providing a cushion for it to crash onto. #5 … In 2012, this diver got up close and personal with a 26-foot-long anaconda in Brazil. Most people would rather be digitally inserted into this image, but this guy did it the old-fashioned way. Luckily, the snake had just eaten and didn’t pay the diver much attention. Otherwise, it might have made a meal of him. #4 … They’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat -- Yeah, this is a picture of an actual whale underneath an actual yacht taken off the Yucatan coast in Mexico in 2012. The whale shark measures 50 feet long, vs the yacht at 34-feet. Can you hear the “Jaws” theme right about now? #3 … Sarcastic Fringehead -- You can likely tell from the picture that this is an aggressive animal. Extremely territorial, they they’re known to attack divers, and sometimes manage to tear through their wet suits. The face is so reminiscent of the Predator creature that this could’ve been been designed as a movie monster. #2 … Tiny Shark -- Did someone shrink this shark? Or mess with the perspective? Nope, this is a Lantern Shark, and lives in deep waters, so not a lot is actually known about it. It gets its name from its ability to glow, called bioluminescence. While it is a shark, it won’t be as scary as, say, the Great White. The Lantern Shark is the world’s smallest shark, growing to less than 36 inches long. #1 … Wolf Fish -- If you thought someone Photoshopped a picture of the Alien xenomorph with a shark, that’s understandable. But the Wolf Fish is for real, and those nasty looking teeth aren’t just for decoration. These creatures can weigh up to 90 pounds and measure 39 inches long. They’re found in the tropical waters of Suriname (surry-nam), and only come out at night to feed on fish and small invertebrates Subscribe to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife

Most Insane Prehistoric Animals

11:19
Dinosaurs seem to garner all the attention when it comes to scary, large and frightening creatures that once roamed our earth, yet there are animals that are way more intimidating or that have been around for much longer than the dinosaurs have and I hate to break it to you, but some may still be around somewhere in the depths of our ocean. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr Watch our "Evidence That Aliens HAVE Visited Earth " video here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iL227eb9FSI Watch our "CRAZY Ideas That Actually Worked!" video here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0n2wEAiOcg Watch our UNBELIEVABLE Items Found After Tsunamis !" video here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNNLwdBI7Gk 7 - Kronosaurus This short-necked pliosaur was 30-feet or 9-meters long and had teeth that were an impressive 11-inches or close to 30-cm! That’s part of the reason why it has the name Kronosaurus, named after Cronus, the king of the Greek Titans. It’s believed that these giant creatures laid eggs on land like a turtle due to the shape of their flippers. These guys were around during the Early Cretaceous period and their fossils have been found off the coast of Australia and Columbia. 6 - Microraptor Weighing in at a mere 2-pounds or just under 1-kilogram, the Microraptor is just that… really, micro! If you were to spot this creature today, you might think that it was a pigeon that came last in line when it came to looks. This feathered 4-winged bird was a genuine raptor and came from the same family as the Velociraptor and Deinonychus, although it was considerably smaller. This micro beast feasted on insects and was around 125 million years ago - 113 million years ago! 5 - Utahraptor No guesses as to where this prehistoric animal was from… Utah! It’s been said that this guy could take down a T-Rex! One of the things that set this dinosaur apart was the huge second toe on its hind legs. This was used as a weapon to tear open its prey. They were thought to roam earth around 125-million years ago. 4 - Manta Ray Manta rays as we know them evolved around 20-million years ago and it’s crazy to think that we may still find them as big as this in our ocean! This picture is 100% real and this gigantic ray was caught by Captain A.L. Kahn in 1933. It weighed 5,000-pounds or 2,200-kilograms and measured over 20-feet or 6-meters in length. It was caught off the coast of Brielle. Over the years, the evolution of the genus Mobula meant the dangerous stinger would eventually disappear, except for the manta ray who has been known to put that neurotoxin covered spike directly through human limbs, so never mess around with one of these if you happen to catch one. 3 - Livyatan melvillei This was a whale that was so huge it could eat another whale. Imagine it as a cross between an Orca and a Sperm whale. It boasted the largest teeth of any animal that actually used their teeth to eat, each one measuring an impressive 1.18 feet or 35-cm. They lived and shared an ocean with the Megalodon, both competing for limited food resources. The Livyatan got its name from the Leviathan, a massive sea monster from the Bible. If there was to be a battle between the Leviathan and the megalodon shark, who do you think would win? Those in the know believe the winner would be the Megalodon, due to its larger, thicker body and a more powerful bite force, but you can never really be sure, can you? 2 - Mosasaurus It’s claim to fame was a role in the movie Jurassic World, let me introduce you to the Mosasaurus. This prehistoric animal was able to swallow its prey whole, but that would have been far too kind to the victim, so instead, the Mosasaurus would slice his meal into bite-sized pieces with their backward bending teeth and enjoy every mouthful. Research suggests that these creatures spent their entire lives in the ocean and that they gave birth to live young. The Mosasaurus was around during the late Cretaceous period around 70-66 million years ago 1...

10 Strangest Ocean Phenomena You Won't Believe!

04:14
Top 10 Amazing things that occur in the deep blue ocean. Creatures, and strange underwater events! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: With water covering 70% of the Earth’s surface, it’s no wonder that oceans yield spectacular species, with scientists finding up to four new species a day, according to the World Register of Marine Species, or WoRMS. They add that there are also approximately 228,450 marine species known to scientists with some two million more multi-celled marine organisms still to be discovered. The ocean is also home to other phenomena including giant beached whales, bioluminescence – when water appears to be glowing - and the yearly migration of millions of red sea crabs on Christmas Island, stopping drivers and pedestrians in their tracks. Seahorses continue to fascinate people time and again, not only for their combination of a norse-like head with S-shaped bodies but also because of what’s seemingly a reversal of roles in the natural world i.e. the male having to do the “pushing.” Rogue waves are an amazing phenomena that could have deadly consequences too, engulfing ships and fishermen in its wake. Short-tail stingrays are also considered to be dangerous. The death of Australian wildlife expert Steve Irwin, “The Crocodile Hunter,” by a sting ray brought the species to prominence in 2006 but in reality, that was a freak occurrence that happens on extremely rare occasions. Sea pens and glass squid appear to go hand in hand, although neither are what they seem. Underwater, famed French marine explorer Jacque Costeau once said “When one man, for whatever reason, has the opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself.” Such is the inspiration by marine biologists, sailors, and regular people alike to continue to explore life under water. Despite man’s advancements of NASA and seeking life on other planets, it’s seeing what’s under the earth’s surface where marine life will help us truly understand our human world. Needle Felted Dog Felt Wool Portrait Tutorial Timelapse Felting Animal Picture

04:25
A needle felt dog portrait by Apulina, from start to finish. Hours of work sped up as a timelapse. Any questions please ask! Needle felting is a time consuming process, but one with extra special results. It involves the use of a notched needle to tangle wool fibres until they stay in place. Needle felting lends itself to pet portraiture as the textures and colours of the wool capture the three dimensional quality and depth of colour in pet fur. You can find me at: www.facebook.com/apulinashop and www.etsy.com/shop/apulina I am also on Instagram and Pinterest. I make needle felt pictures, 3D sculptures and masks, felt miniatures and more.

If you look at the statistics, you might feel terrified. - Sharks cause just six deaths a year - their infamous reputation is very exaggerated. - Wolves are responsible for ten deaths annually. - Lions kill 22 people a year. - Now get ready: elephants, cute lovely giants, are the reason that more than 500 people lose their lives every year! - Hippopotamuses equal them in this scary competition. - Crocodiles turn out to be much more dangerous than sharks: about one thousand deaths a year. - But the champion here is the snake: 100,000 people meet their end at the teeth of this reptile. We hope you will never have to escape from a rhinoceros, swim away from a crocodile, or meet a hungry lion. However, now you will be able to protect yourself in the wilderness.
