19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures

From Nemo, the clownfish, to the beautiful and elusive Blue Sea Slug, these are 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures ! 8. Blue Tang -- Undersea creatures seem to look really cool in blue … and this one is no exception. The Blue Tang shows off some amazing blue coloration complemented by bold black markings. It almost sounds like a fashion shows, right? These fish are usually found in Indo-Pacific waters and are actually bright yellow when they’re younger. The blue and black colors show up at their final phase of development. 7. Coral -- Is that a brain at the bottom of the ocean? No … but it is a brain coral … and just an example of the wide ranging variety of living coral and coral reefs, some of which are thought to have started growing over 50 million years ago. Contrary to some beliefs, coral are animals, not plants … they’re actually related to anemones and jellyfish. The reefs formed by coral provide housing for thousands of marine species, giving them a place to find food, reproduce, and keep them safe until they’re mature enough to venture into the deeper ocean. Did you know coral reef plants and animals have proven important to the development of new medicines to treat cancer, Alzheimer's and heart disease? But even with all those advantages, human activity is threatening almost 60 percent of the world’s coral reefs. 6. Flower Hat Jellyfish -- This rare species of jellyfish is a rare species usually found in the waters of southern japan, Argentina and Brazil. It can grow to a half-foot in diameter, and is easily recognizable by its translucent bell, which is pinstriped with opaque bands. Those coiling tentacles adhere to the rim while not in use. Like many pretty looking things, this jelly carries a sting … but even though it’s painful, it’s non-lethal to humans … the worst you’d get is a rash. 5. Blue Sea Slug -- We couldn’t find a lot of information on this critter. From what we’ve seen, it’s often identified as a Blue Sea Slug … but that sounds like a pedestrian name for such a colorful creature. You can see the brilliant blue coloration in this photo … the animal almost looks like an alien life form with the two antennae sticking up. We’re guessing it might be a Nudibranch (new-di-brank). Those mollusks are noted for their striking colors, and there are more than 2,300 validated species scattered about the world. Can you confirm that? Let us know in the comments! 4. Mantis Shrimp -- They’re one of the most colorful forms of marine life, but don’t be fooled. They’re also known as ferocious undersea predators that possess, pound for pound, one of the most powerful punches on the planet. Punching with speed equal to a .22 caliber bullet, the Mantis Shrimp has not only broken shells of its prey … it’s also broken through aquarium glass. Punching at that velocity makes water vaporize and explode with a sharp bang, a flash of light and extremely high heat, all of which is felt by the victim as an additional blast. Not bad for an animal that averages less than four inches long. 3. Juvenile Emperor Angelfish -- Their coloration will change with age … but while they’re young, they exhibit these amazing displays of swirling dark blue, white and electric blue. It almost look hypnotic, right? Well, the fish keeps these distinct patterns until it reaches maturity, which usually takes around 4 years. Then the fish develops blue and yellow stripes, and black shading around its eyes. 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiprioninae Clownfish -- Did you recognize them from “Finding Nemo”? Known as one of the most brightly colored fish in the world, their bodies have distinctive white striping with colors that can vary from red, orange or yellow. They’re also known as anemone fishes, because of their mutually beneficial relationship with sea anemones. The toxic tentacles of the anemones protect clownfish from predators. And the fast movement of the fishes helps anemones find food and increase circulation. 1. The Mandarinfish -- Also known as the “Mandarin Dragonet” it swims in the Pacific reefs … but it’s less than 3 inches long so it can be difficult to see in the wild. As you might guess, this fish is highly sought after in the aquarium trade … but they’re considered extremely difficult to their strict eating habits. Some people think the Mandarinfish might be the most beautiful fish in the world … would you agree? to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife

10 of the MOST AMAZING SEA CREATURES ever discovered!

06:42
10 of the MOST AMAZING SEA CREATURES ever discovered! 10. RED-LIPPED BATFISH: Found around the Galapagos Islands, this unusual fish is not very good at swimming... ...it instead uses its unique fins to walk the ocean floor. And it has an ingenious spine-like projection on its back to lure prey, and uses a battering-ram like structure on its head to attack. 9. CHRISTMAS TREE WORMS: Each worm has two brightly coloured tree-like crowns that protrude from its tubular body. The incredible network of "leaves" radiate from the worms central spine... ...and are used for respiration and for catching food. Most of the worms body is actually not visible, as they are burrowed down and anchored into coral -- and will quickly retract into their bores when threatened. 8. GIANT OARFISH: The world's longest bony fish, reaching a recorded length of 36 feet... It is thought likely to be the source of worldwide "sea-serpent" stories. It's organs are concentrated toward the head end of it's body... Possibly allowing it to survive losing large segments of its tail. Inhabiting the mesopelagic layer, it is thought capable of diving as deep as 1000 meters (3,300 ft)." 7. LEAFY SEADRAGON: A masterfully camouflaged fish, the leafy seadragon is found off the southern coast of Australia. As well as being ingeniously camouflaged, these exquisite creatures employ a subtle means of propulsion...using their two near transparent fins to maintain the illusion of floating seaweed. 6. FIREFLY SQUID: These amazing creatures are capable of bioluminescence... that means they can produce their own light via an organ in each tentacle called a photo-sphore. During the day they live at depths of several hundred meters, but at night they return to the surface, and in numbers they can produce an incredible sea of blue light. They are also capable of "counter-illumination" which makes it very difficult for a predator to spot them from below. 5. Pink Sea-Through Fantasia: This rare translucent animal lives in the Celebes Sea of the western Pacific Ocean. Sometimes mistaken for a jelly-fish, this cleverly mobile sea-cucumber is capable of navigating safely around prey while travelling upwards of 3000 feet form the seabed in search of food. 4. Sarcastic Fringehead: This notoriously ferocious and territorially aggressive fish... ...is known to wrestle with other fringeheads; pressing their over-sized mouths against each other in an attempt to establish dominance. 3. BARRELEYE: These fish are named for their huge, telescoping barrel-shaped eyes which are located inside a protective transparent dome of soft tissue. Their acutely light sensitive binocular eyes, which can be directed forward, are generally directed upwards and are capable of detecting the silhouettes of potential food sources from vast distances. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mimic_octopus 2. MIMIC OCTOPUS: The mimic octopus is a remarkable species of octopus capable of impersonating an array of other sea animals. Not only can it change skin pattern and color to suit its background, as other cephalopods can, the Mimic octopus can shape shift to an extraordinary degree... Both as a means of tricking unsuspecting prey. And by fooling potential predators -- "by discerning and impersonating the sea creature that will present the greatest threat to its current possible predator." 1. PEACOCK MANTIS SHRIMP: Forget Mike Tyson or Rocky Marciano, for pound-for-pound power nothing comes close to this shrimpy super-boxer. The 4-6 inch mantis shrimp has the fastest punch in the known universe! ***THE MUSIC*** -- called "Energetic Psychedelic Electronica" -- is from Ultrasonic: http://www.audiomicro.com/energetic-psychedelic-electronica-royalty-free-stock-music-1005207

10 MOST DANGEROUS OCEAN CREATURES IN THE WORLD

10:17
10 Most Dangerous Water Animals In The World ► Subscribe: https://goo.gl/vHN6qB For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] There are many different types of creatures that live in streams, lakes, seas and oceans. And while many of these creatures are harmless, there are many that are incredibly dangerous if you happen to have an encounter with them. These dangerous animals lurk beneath the surface of the water in a world vastly different than ours, and must be deadly to survive. Join us as we take a look at 10 of the most dangerous water creatures. 10. Australian Box Jellyfish – This creature is not one to be messed around with if you happen to swim into a swarm of them. And while they may seem harmless, the Australian box jellyfish is considered to be the most venomous marine animal in the world. They have tentacles that are covered with tiny darts called nematocysts, and they are loaded with poison. 9. Flower Urchin – Beautiful but deadly, these sea urchins are extremely venomous. They look like a bouquet of small flowers; to which they get their name from. They feed on invertebrates, sponges, and dead fish, and have well developed jaws for grinding up their prey. 8. The Saltwater Crocodile – Evolving around 200 million years in the Mesozoic epoch, crocodiles have far outlived the dinosaurs. The Salt water crocodile is the world’s largest reptile, and they have been known to grow up to 27 feet long and weigh 2,465 lbs. 7. Textile Cone Snail – Mother nature teaches us that anything in nature that is beautiful, is most likely deadly, and a warning to predators and humans to not touch or disturb them. This holds true for the Textile Cone Snail. 6. The Sea Snake – These highly venomous marine snakes are closely related and belong to the same family as the cobra. There are two independently evolved groups: the true sea snakes which are related to Australian terrestrial elapids, and the sea kraits which are related to Asian cobras. 5. The Lionfish – Lionfish are skilled hunters, using specialized bilateral swim bladder muscles to provide exquisite control of location in the water column, allowing the fish to alter its center of gravity to better attack prey. The lionfish then spreads its large pectoral fins and swallows its prey in a single motion. 4. The Stingray – Stingrays are a group of rays, which are cartilaginous fish related to sharks, and are one of the oceans deadliest creatures. Most stingrays have one or more barbed stingers on their tails, which are used exclusively for self-defense. 3. Blue-Ringed Octopus – This octopus has some of the most striking colors of any ocean creature. They get their name from the brightly blue colored rings on its body. 2. Needlefish – These strange looking creatures are very slender, and have a single dorsal fin, placed far back on the body. Needlefish are capable of making short jumps out of the water at up to 37 mph. Since Needlefish swim near the surface, they often leap over the decks of shallow boats rather than going around. 1. The Moray Eel - Most attacks stem from disruption of a moray's burrow to which they react strongly, but an increasing number of accidents also occur during hand feeding of morays by divers, an activity often used by dive companies to attract tourists.

The Biggest Unknown Underwater Creatures On Earth

12:16
Top 10 most amazing animals found in the ocean Subscribe to TheHub http://goo.gl/87YJzG For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Remember those fishing trips with your parents when you were just a kid? You’d be amazed every time you caught something, and your parents would act impressed, too, even if it was smaller than your palm. At the time you’d find it hard to believe that there were creatures in the ocean bigger than that. Obviously, now that you’ve grown older, you’re aware of some of the huge beasts that grace our seas. Of course, there’s the blue whale or the great white shark, but have you ever considered some of the lesser-known creatures out there? We’ve put together a list of some of the biggest living things you’ll find in the ocean – although they’re not necessarily all things you would like to catch. For example, you most definitely do not want to come across a Giant Spider Crab while paddling at the shore, although chance would be a fine thing, as they don’t tend to swim to the surface. Or what about the Fin Whale? A far friendlier giant, it’s one you should try and see in your lifetime – if it doesn’t get hunted into extinction anytime soon. If you’re venturing further afield, and happen to be in Antarctica, you might be lucky enough to be greeted by a Southern Elephant Seal. You’ll be surprised to find out why it’s named that, too. Some other interesting beasts in our video include the Lion’s Mane Jellyfish, the Oceanic Manta Ray and the Whale Shark, but you’ll have to watch the video to find out the rest.

Amazing! Sea Monsters Could Be Living on Other Planets

04:28
What inhabits the entire universe has always aroused our curiosity. Literature and different studies affirm that there is the possibility that outside of our planet, there is some kind of extraterrestrial life. For example, there is always a science fiction book that awakens our intrigue about possible creatures living on other planets. However, although it all seems like science fiction, there are some hypotheses that are quite close to reality. AMAZING Recently Discovered Species

09:20
You’d think by now we’ve done a pretty good job at cataloguing all of the species in the world, but we’re far from done! Scientists believe there are around 8.7 million species in the world, with between 1 and 2 million of those being animals. And it’s thought the vast majority have not even been documented yet. 2017 saw a number of fascinating new discoveries, and we’ll touch on some of them today. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 10 - Not for human consumption… Don’t let the name Churro mislead you, there is nothing tasty about this new marine worm that was discovered in the Gulf of California in 2017. They’ve called it Churro because of the striking resemblance to a Churro, the delicious fried-dough pastry dessert that is dipped into sweet sauces. This worm is between 4 and 10 inches and feeds off molluscs like clams. 9 - Feeling Blue... I would be too if faced with this bright blue tarantula that was discovered in Guyana. It doesn’t even have a name yet, that’s how new it is! It was spotted by Andrew Snyder, who says his flashlight bounced off something very blue, which he thought was just a reflection. When he went closer, he was really surprised to see the bright blue legs of the spider. Firstly, this is the first blue tarantula found in South America, as they’re usually found in Southeast Asia, and secondly, this one was living in a colony, which is very unusual for spiders. 8 - 5 a day… If you’re brave, you can add this bizarre fruit to yours! It’s the obscure relative of the tomato, and it was discovered in Australia. This fruit has been known to botanists for 50 years already, but it was only described officially in 2017. 7th graders helped name this weird fruit the deathly fruit, and when cut open, the flesh of the fruit changes from whitish green to blood red and then matures into a dry, white bony state. The fruit looks very unappetising, and I doubt it’s going to be flying off the shelves anytime soon! 7 - Blooming marvellous… A new species of orchid was found last year, called the devil orchid aka Telipogon diabolicus. This orchid is a fusion of male and female flower parts and as you can see, looks a lot like the head of the devil! This plant is only found in a certain area of Columbia, which is currently threatened by reconstruction. 6 - Now you see me… Now you don’t! You’re aware of how lizards drop their tails in order to escape a predator, but this newly discovered gecko takes things a little further. This creature is covered with overlapping scales, and when it’s in trouble, has the ability to shed those scales and make a quick, naked getaway. Within a few weeks, those scales have grown back and the gecko is ready for action once again. 5 - Down Under… We head down 13,000 feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean to meet a new species of sponge that was confirmed in 2017. Plenaster craigi have been found in 2013 and 2015, and it was just last year that it was confirmed as an official new species. It was discovered in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, and live on metal-rich nodules that are common in that area. 4 - Look familiar? Pictured here is the Arcella gandalfi, and if you’ve watched Lord of the Rings, you’ll know why it got that name. These freshwater amoebas were rumoured to exist in Brazil, but they’ve only recently been discovered and confirmed to be real. Considering they’re a single cell organism, these amoeba’s are quite big, measuring 81 micrometers in diameter and 71 micrometers in height. 3 - Pretty in Pink… This is the Pink Floyd pistol shrimp, a new species of snapping shrimp found in the waters off the Pacific coast of Panama. Pink Floyd happened to be one of the favourite bands of the scientists who discovered it. As if the neon pink claw wasn’t strange enough, this crazy shrimp can kill its prey with noise! The snap of that giant claw is loud and powerful that it creates cavitation bubbles, which then burst into the prey, either stunning them or killing them. The sound reaches levels of 210 decibels, which is louder than a gunshot! 2 - No lazing around… An ancient giant sloth fossil was also found in 2017, hidden in an underwater cave in the jungle of the Yucatán in Mexico. This area is not known for many fossil finds, because the humid environment tends to destroy any traces of bones. Vicente Fito went diving in a limestone cave in 2009 where he made this remarkable discovery. He gave the bones to the National Institute of Anthropology and History in Mexico, where they’ve spent all this time piecing everything together. This new species of sloth is thought to weigh around 500-pounds! Apparently the oldest sloth fossil ever found is roughly 9 million years old, and was found in Argentina. 1...

10 Creepy Sea Creatures You Didn't Know Existed

04:33
Did you know any of these amazing and scary deep sea creatures? It's hard to believe these bizarre animals exist. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg 'Hatchet Fish' footage by Filmic Art : www.filmicart.com For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: There is a vast world below the ocean that we have yet to discover in its entirety. While we seem to know nearly everything about the land, the sea still leaves much to be desired. As you go down into the depths of the ocean, you’ll notice a lot will change. For one, you’ll begin to be immersed in darkness. Second, the pressure will change. So, the creatures that have been discovered deep in the oceanic depths are quite different biologically, and they can be quite terrifying to look at. But once we begin to understand them, we can start to learn more about our existence, and even come closer to curing diseases and solving some of the world’s most complex mysteries. However, the sea creatures that have been discovered recently have shown to be just downright creepy and terrifying. You probably recall the Angler Fish, especially if you’re seen the Disney movie, “Finding Nemo”. If you didn’t realize that this fish is the real deal, get ready for new additions to your nightmares. It wasn’t a work of fiction or some messed up fantasy of some Disney Imagineer. The fish that we see in this video is actually female, and the male is a small weakling, wandering the sea to find a female with her pheromones. The male then attaches itself to the female and becomes a parasite. Every part of the male merges with the female except for the testicles, which the female uses to impregnate herself. Jokes aside, this is quite a fascinating process despite how creepy it is. Similar to the angler fish is the Viper Fish, which has a natural extra attachment that illuminates in the darkness of the sea with the purpose of attracting prey. The blob fish is a creature that you wonder what God was smoking or shooting up when he decided to create the blob fish. This fish has no bones, and literally just hangs out on the ocean floor and hopes that food comes to its mouth. Whether you want to worship the blob fish for its epic level of laziness or wonder how in the world the species is still in existence with such an apathetic demeanor, it’s still creepy to look at. Then we have the goblin shark, which is pretty much like the underwater version of the alien from the movie “Alien” due to its protruding mouth. The goblin shark has a large snout and needle-like teeth that are sharp and deadly. For a completely random sea creature, we have the Christmas Tree Worms, which really look like tiny walking fir trees that come in different colors. The branches or hair-like appendages help them breathe as well as consume phytoplankton. Then we have the sea pig, which looks nothing like the pigs we have on land. But instead the sea pig is a multi-tubed foot sea creature that is closely related to the sea cucumber. It eats by pulling water and absorbing organic food. Quite innovative, even though it looks creepy. For more creepy sea creatures, check out the rest of the video for more. In this video, we will explore the top 10 mythical sea creatures. Number 10. Cthulhu. Cthulhu is an undersea monster and has been described as a mix between a giant octopus, a man and a dragon... It is hundreds of meters tall, with human-looking arms and legs and a pair of wings on its back. Cthulhu's head looks like an octopus, with tentacles surrounding its supposed mouth... H. P. Lovecraft's story, "The Call of Cthulhu", established the character as a malevolent entity hibernating within an underwater city in the South Pacific called R'lyeh... Games company TSR included an entire chapter on the Cthulhu mythos in Deities & Demigods (1980)… Number 9. Leviathan. The Leviathan of the Middle Ages was used as an image of Satan, attempting to eat God’s creatures... Leviathan became associated with, and may originally have referred to, the visual motif of the Hellmouth, a monstrous animal into whose mouth the damned disappear at the Last Judgement... Young Earth Creationists argue that both the Leviathan and the Behemoth in the Bible could only have been dinosaurs that they claim still existed when the Book of Job was written... In the study of demonology, the Leviathan is one of the seven princes of Hell and its gatekeeper.

FRIENDLIEST Sea Creatures

10:06
The sea is home to one of the most significant parts of the animal kingdom anywhere on Earth. Even though there are numerous creatures that can eat you with ease, there are equally as many creatures that are ready to swim and play with you. Many of the animals that call the ocean their home are incredibly intelligent, playful, and are some of the friendliest creatures anywhere. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 3. Jellyfish in Jellyfish Lake You should avoid most jellyfish from around the world due to their toxic stingers that can cause significant pain to humans. However, a small lake in Palau is home to a unique species of jellyfish that are missing these poisonous stingers. Thanks to the lack of stingers, these jellyfish make for one of the most peaceful creatures in the sea. The jellyfish that have survived in this lake has done so thanks to a unique metabolic process. By feeding on fast-growing algae, the jellyfish in this lake are capable of surviving on little food with no predators. As the sun moves across the lake growing natural algae, the jellyfish migrate from one end of the lake to another. These migrations when seen from above looks impressive and brings in many tourists. A trip to Jellyfish lake has been a fantastic trip many tourists have embarked on for many years. Recently, the government has temporarily shut down the ability to snorkel with these sea creatures due to a sudden drop in the population of jellyfish in the lake. Between the extreme drought and El Nino weather pattern in the area, the jellyfish population has dwindled to alarmingly low numbers. Hopefully, with increased rain and better climate conditions, these amazing creatures will flourish again. 2. Beluga Whale http://everythingchurchill.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/Beluga_051.jpg http://everythingchurchill.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/Beluga_07.jpg As with the Humpback Whale, the Beluga whale makes our list as one of the friendliest sea creatures. These massive white whales are beautiful creatures that are found in arctic to sub-arctic ocean temperatures. Due to their nature to travel in groups of 10 or more, these whales make for majestic animals that are friendly to all humans. Measuring in over 18 feet long, and over 3000 pounds, the Beluga whale is a fantastic sight to see. Thanks to its high pitched tweets, the Beluga whale is sometimes referred to as the sea canary. The Beluga whale also has the unique ability to mimic human speech through its high pitched sounds. In the wild, the cry of a Beluga whale has even been compared to the shouting of children. The first Beluga whale was brought into captivity in 1861, marking the first time a whale was kept in captivity. As with Humpbacks, it is best to experience Beluga whales from a distance to their large size. One of the most well-known places to view the Beluga whale is in the Northern Hudson Bay coastline. During June to mid-September, this bay becomes home to over 50,000 beluga whales. Local tourist companies offer small boats that can be taken out to the bay to view the whales up close. Even from the distance of a boat, these creatures can be seen in all their beauty as they breach the ocean’s surface and playfully swim beneath your boat. 1. Sea Otters Between their cute fur covered body, to their ability to play and problem solve, the Sea Otter is one of the friendliest creatures living in the ocean. Similar to Humpback whales, the Sea Otter was hunted for hundreds of years. It wasn’t until the 20th century that Sea Otters saw a massive spike in their population. After Zoos started to bring Sea Otters in for exhibits, the public fell in love with these friendly animals. Sea Otters are one of the smallest marine mammals, measuring about 4 feet long. While they are descendants of the weasel family, they are the heaviest members weighing in from 50 to 100 pounds. As with some sea creatures, Sea Otters are intelligent. Many Otters love to dine on clams and other shelled animals of the ocean. Since they do not have the strength to break the shells, many otters will store rocks under their arms as they hunt to help break the shells open. The best way to experience a sea otter is in a zoo or other aquarium. Many zoos offer dedicated exhibits that allow guests to experience first hand the friendly Sea Otter. These exhibits usually include allowing the guest to feed the sea otter and participate in a training session alongside professional animal trainers. A handful of zoos even offer guests the ability to swim with the sea otters for a short period, giving them the opportunity to play with these friendly creatures.

Top 10 Most Bizarre Deep Sea Creatures Ever Discovered

12:32
Deep Sea Creatures are as bizarre as creatures get. From angler fish to giant squid, here are some of the weirdest bizarre deep sea creatures caught on tape. Subscribe for more! ► https://goo.gl/pgcoq1 ◄ Stay updated ► https://goo.gl/JyGcTt https://goo.gl/5c8dzr ◄ For copyright queries or general inquiries please get in touch: [email protected] Credit: https://pastebin.com/Pc2NrbsG Be Amazed at these top 10 most bizarre deep sea creatures in the world! Weird Octopuses - Octopuses are already strange creatures. Let's start off with the flapjack octopus which certainly looks like something out of a Disney movie . The informally named ‘Casper’ octopus gets the inspiration obviously from its ghastly look. For another Disney reference, look no further than the dumbo octopus . Angler Fish - Of course, we can't talk about the deep sea without mentioning just about every super wide-jawed oddity that lurks down there. On the top of the list is none other than the angler fish , which gets its name from its unusual hunting method, which involves luring prey close to its mouth using that weird luminescent appendage coming out of its head. Another frightening fish is the viperfish , measuring around 60 centimetres, or 23 inches in length. Probably even more hideous are deep-seadragonfishes , a similar class of wide-jawed monsters which make viperfish look like their incomplete cousins. Pelican Flounder - The main challenge for any deep-sea organism isn’t actually the absence of light, but the crushing pressure levels. Giant Isopods and Amphipods - Sure, ancient trilobites and modern horseshoe crabs may look cute and all, but out on the deep sea floor, there are creepy crawlies that can take you millions of years back into the age of the giant insects. Spider Crabs - Speaking of crustaceans, crabs also subjected to the same freakish transformations when the deep sea is taken into account. The Hoff crab is another ghastly version of its normal counterpart. Colossal Squid - The colossal squid is a gigantic cephalopod that is easily more than twice the size of a regular human. Giant squid are another huge squid species. Harp Sponge - As fearsome as they already are, sea anemones and other similar creatures have at least taught us that the oceans are also home to a number of immobile predatory feeders. Sea Toads - Siphonophores - Deep sea siphonophores are long lines of jellyfish-like entities connected together, only guided by the organism behind and in front. Gulper Eels - If there is one thing in the deep that is the literal stuff of nightmares, it would definitely have to be the Gulper eel . This is to be expected though, as at 8,200 meters deep, the cusk eel is officially one of the deepest ocean dwelling creatures on record.

8 Best Camouflaged Sea Creatures

11:26
Octopus, Cuttlefish, and other sea creatures use camouflage and mimicry to hide from predators and capture prey. Subscribe for the latest videos: https://goo.gl/7xzjzR Number 8 Crocodilefish The crocodilefish, also known as the Giant flathead, is a fish of medium size that can grow up to 20 inches long with an average recorded size of 14 inches. It may be found in the western Pacific Ocean, in the coastal waters of the Philippines, Borneo, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia and Palau. Crocodilefish have elongated bodies with particularly flat heads that almost resemble duck bills. They dwell at the bottom of shallow waters, often camouflaging themselves on semi-exposed or sheltered reefs. The intensity of the coloration that adults have on their bodies varies in accordance to their surroundings. Crocodilefish are ambush predators that take advantage of their camouflage to capture their pray which mostly consist of crustaceans and smaller fish. Number 7 Penguins Penguins use a camouflage technique known as countershading, which is one of the most common forms of marine camouflage. While they are in the water, their black and white patterns help hide them from both predators and prey. The darker top half of the animal blends with the dark waters below and the lighter half blends in with the waters above. The high contrast on the penguin’s body makes it one of the best known examples of animals that use the countershading technique. Number 6 Leafy Sea Dragon The Leafy Sea Dragon may be found along the western and southern coasts of Australia. Its body is covered in long leaf-like protrusions, a feature that gives this marine fish the ‘leafy’ part of its name. The ‘dragon’ component of its name is derived from the resemblance it bears to the mythical creature. The leafy sea dragon’s appearance offers an excellent form of camouflage due to the lobes of skin that grow on its body. These characteristics give it the appearance of seaweed. Number 5 Decorator Crab Decorator crabs are known for using materials from their environments in order to hide from predators. They can also ward off predators by attaching noxious organisms to their body. These organisms display various warning signs of their toxicity, such as bright colors, in order to discourage potential predatory attacks, a concept known as aposematism. Number 4 Deep-sea hatchetfish Deep-sea hatchetfish, also known as marine hatchetfish, are found in the temperate, subtropical and tropical waters of the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. They range in size with smaller species averaging 1.1 inches long to the Giant hatchetfish, which averages 4.5 inches long. Much like its name would indicate, this creature is found in deeper parts of the ocean, at depths ranging from 160 to 4,900 feet below. Number 3 Big Blue Octopus The big blue octopus is found both in the Indian and Pacific Oceans in the reefs and shallow water of regions that range from the eastern coast of Africa to Hawaii. It is a predator with a diet consisting mainly of mollusks, shrimp, fish and crabs. Number 2 Mimic Octopus The Mimic Octopus can use its highly flexible body to impersonating other sea creatures. It can also change its texture and color to blend into the environment. It uses pigment sacs known as chromatophores to blend in with nearby coral or algae-encrusted rocks. The mimic octopus is the only known marine animal that is able to take shape of such a wide variety of objects and animals. It uses this shape-shifting ability to capture prey as well as evade or intimidate predators. It may choose to mimic a crab as an apparent mate only to then devour potential suitors. Unlike most octopus, which tend to use coral reefs as shelter, the mimic octopus also prefers river mouths and estuaries. The exact number of species it can mimic is not known, but most of them are poisonous. Lionfish, sea snakes, flatfish, and jellyfish are among the most common animals that this octopus imitates. Depending on the creatures it encounters, the mimic octopus will also decide which mimicry behavior is best suited for each situation. Number 1 Cuttlefish Cuttlefish, are often referred to as chameleons of the sea’ for their ability of blending into their surroundings by quickly changing their colors. This creature’s skin has three optical components, which are arranged vertically, that enable it to reflect or absorb light. In response to visual information, cuttlefish use the neutrally-controlled chromatophore to change the pattern or the color of their skin. Researchers have discovered that these cells contain luminescent protein nanostructures that give the cuttlefish its ability to quickly make elaborate changes in pigmentation.

FRIENDLIEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

11:32
Check out the friendliest sea creatures around the world! From incredible animals that saved peoples lives to the strangest ocean wildlife, this top 10 list of friendly creatures swimming around in the vast ocean is amazing! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg Watch our "Most TERRIFYING Sea Monsters Ever!" video here: https://youtu.be/B9aPB6KB504 Watch our "STRANGEST Things Found In The Ocean!" video here: https://youtu.be/XYfqi5VNgac 10. Sea Lions Sea Lions have long been associated with friendly interactions with humans, so much so that they form a large part of Peruvian culture- having been worshipped by the people there and depicted in numerous artworks. They are highly intelligent animals, which means they can learn tricks to entertain crowds, and are quite curious so they will often swim up alongside humans and play with them in the water. They are also used by the US military to assist SCUBA diving teams look for underwater mines and, in some instances, detain divers who have accessed restricted areas until authorities can arrive. Sea lions and dolphins are used as combat marine units and sea lions especially, have excellent eyesight. Sea lions are hardy, smart, and trainable and they have the added advantage that they are amphibious and can easily hand things to their handlers. This all makes Sea Lions sound like gentle creatures, but it’s important to know that sea lions have another side to them. If they aren’t treated well or respectfully, they can become quite aggressive. This can also happen with male Sea Lions because they are very territorial during mating season. If it looks like you’re bothering one then stay away but, if not, they are one of the friendliest sea creatures you’ll ever meet. 9. Beluga Whale Beluga Whales are native to the Arctic and sub-arctic, and are uniquely adapted to the cold waters. They are white in color, don’t have a dorsal fin, and have an enlarged head, which contains an organ called a melon that is used for echolocation. Beluga’s were actually the first type of whale to be kept in captivity, with the first being shown at Barnum’s museum in New York in 1861. To this day they are still the most commonly seen animal in marine parks across North America, Europe and Asia- mainly because they are much smaller than other species of whale and easier to contain. They are also a hit with visitors because of their unusual colour and wide range of facial expressions. They are really curious about the people who visit them, and often perform in shows with trainers who they develop deep bonds with. Since 1992 it has been forbidden to capture Belugas in Canada because of concerns for the population numbers in the wild, so now most of them come from Russia. They are so popular that each one can cost as much as 100,000 dollars. Whale watching tours are a great way to see them in their natural habitat, but it’s important for the boat not to get too close to them because of the way it can interrupt their daily activities. Quite often they enjoy interacting with the boats so much that they get distracted from things like feeding, social interaction with their own species, and breeding. They get so caught up in the moment, they forget what they’re supposed to be doing!! 8. Whale Shark You might not think a shark with a five-foot-wide mouth and more than 3,000 teeth would be the friendliest of creatures, but whale sharks are the most gentle of all shark species. They pose no threat to humans at all, and are usually pretty welcoming to those who want to swim alongside them. Despite their huge mouth, their throats are only the width of a US quarter, and they only eat tiny micro-organisms. Their average speed through the water is about 3 miles per hour, so they are easy to keep up with, and in a lot of tourist areas they are used to the presence of humans in the water, and don’t really seem to be bothered. Cancun is one of the best places to swim with these giants of the ocean, where you’ll really feel small next to a 65-foot-long and 12 ton fish. There really is nothing quite like being surrounded by a few of them, and the experience draws tourists from all over the world. If you visit “Las Afueras” you’ll even have a chance to be amongst a feeding frenzy of hundreds of them, which is a spectacular feat of nature. 7. Manatees Manatees, or sea cows, are also known as gentle giants, and it’s clear to see why. They are fully aquatic and feed mainly on plant life that they sift from the water. They can grow to up to 13-feet-long, weigh about 1,300 pounds, and push their way through the water with their paddle like limbs. 10 Strangest Ocean Phenomena You Won't Believe!

04:14
Top 10 Amazing things that occur in the deep blue ocean. Creatures, and strange underwater events! Subscribe to our channel: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: With water covering 70% of the Earth’s surface, it’s no wonder that oceans yield spectacular species, with scientists finding up to four new species a day, according to the World Register of Marine Species, or WoRMS. They add that there are also approximately 228,450 marine species known to scientists with some two million more multi-celled marine organisms still to be discovered. The ocean is also home to other phenomena including giant beached whales, bioluminescence – when water appears to be glowing - and the yearly migration of millions of red sea crabs on Christmas Island, stopping drivers and pedestrians in their tracks. Seahorses continue to fascinate people time and again, not only for their combination of a norse-like head with S-shaped bodies but also because of what’s seemingly a reversal of roles in the natural world i.e. the male having to do the “pushing.” Rogue waves are an amazing phenomena that could have deadly consequences too, engulfing ships and fishermen in its wake. Short-tail stingrays are also considered to be dangerous. The death of Australian wildlife expert Steve Irwin, “The Crocodile Hunter,” by a sting ray brought the species to prominence in 2006 but in reality, that was a freak occurrence that happens on extremely rare occasions. Sea pens and glass squid appear to go hand in hand, although neither are what they seem. Underwater, famed French marine explorer Jacque Costeau once said “When one man, for whatever reason, has the opportunity to lead an extraordinary life, he has no right to keep it to himself.” Such is the inspiration by marine biologists, sailors, and regular people alike to continue to explore life under water. Despite man’s advancements of NASA and seeking life on other planets, it’s seeing what’s under the earth’s surface where marine life will help us truly understand our human world. Most MYSTERIOUS Sea Monster Carcasses Ever Found!

11:13
Check out the most mysterious sea monsters carcasses ever found! From unidentified sea creatures to bizarre ocean animals washed ashore, this top 10 list is shrouded in mystery! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "Most MYSTERIOUS Ocean Facts!" video here: https://youtu.be/BzrlpgRVPQg Watch our "Most Amazing Cities Found UNDERWATER!" video here: https://youtu.be/rUqxhYJqGhU Watch our "STRANGEST Things Found In The Ocean!" video here: https://youtu.be/0eRi-vbA2y4 9. Russian Specimen In 2015, the world was once again amazed as a mysterious creature washed up on a Russian beach. A giant sea creature with a bird-like "beak" and fur on its tail sparked controversy in hours! Russian social media went crazy! It was said to be similar to a dolphin but was twice the size of your average human. On top of that, it had fur. Pretty strange since sea creatures are not commonly seen with fur!! Some claim it resembles a Ganges River dolphin, which are normally found in the freshwater regions of India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. These dolphins have a small hump instead of a dorsal fin, a brown coloring and the tendency to swim on their sides. But, there is one fact that these theorists are ignoring. Ganges dolphins do not have fur! Oh yeah! Plus, they are much smaller than this mysterious Russian creature. Because of this, these individuals counter back with their suggestion that the creature was simply a washed up llama or other mammal. They say perhaps the beak was actually a snout and the body composition was previously mistaken for a sea creature. To this day, no one knows for sure what it is, and chances are…it’s probably too late now! 8. New Zealand Beast New Zealand hasn’t had just one case of a sea monster carcass shrouded in mystery. Back in 2013, a mysterious thing washed ashore causing insane speculation across the country. The Daily Mail reports that “A YouTube video filmed by Elizabeth Ann on Pukehina Beach shows the half-buried head of a carcass with jagged teeth and gaping jaws”. Only its head and what looks like flippers are visible above the sand. This beast could have been up to 30 feet long!! A marine biologist suggested it was a whale. Other theories ranged from a seal to a crocodile to a dinosaur!! Yes, people say it is some ancient creature that no longer exists! What that creature really was has yet to be determined. 7. Bermuda Blob There is no doubt that Bermuda is full of mysteries. One of these is the appearance of not one…but two mysterious blobs that appeared nearly ten years apart. The Bermuda Blob is the name given to two globsters, or unidentified sea creature carcasses, that washed ashore on Bermuda in 1988 and 1997. The first Bermuda Blob was found by Teddy Tucker, a fisherman and treasure hunter, in Mangrove Bay in May 1988. The man said the blob was about "2½ to 3 feet thick . . . very white and fibrous . . . with five 'arms or legs,' rather like a disfigured star." To further prove its existence, samples of the specimen were gathered and analyzed in 1995. It is believed that these specimens were from a poikilothermic sea creature, either a large teleost or an elasmobranch. Yeah, that really clears it up doesn’t it?? This just means it was a large bony fish, shark or ray. Another suggested that the remains belonged to a whale. The same thing happened in 1997 but it wasn’t analyzed until 2004. Evidence from this sample suggested a whale again. But of course, nothing was ever proven, and science itself leaves this case open, as another one of the ocean’s greatest mysteries. 6. Muriwai Monster Some other very strange things have been popping up on New Zealand beaches after the earthquakes in 2016. The large weird-looking object that looked like it was covered in dreadlocks washed up on Muriwai beach in Auckland. Melissa Doubleday discovered it and thought it was a beached whale. She posted pictures to facebook to get some ideas and people suggested everything from a sea monster with dreadlocks to an alien pod time capsule! The real answer is probably way more boring than this. New Zealand Marine Sciences Society believes it is a piece of driftwood covered in gooseneck barnacles. Gooseneck barnacles are crustaceans that attach themselves to driftwood or rocks, but this is a rather extreme case, wouldn’t you say? They normally use biochemical cement and a peduncle to glue themselves onto objects underwater. They then ride water currents to wave their appendages in order to filter out food particles. Fun fact: Gooseneck barnacles are said to be a delicacy in Spain and Portugal. Now, does this amazing creature really look like a thousand appetizers? Or does it look more like a Rastafarian sea monster? That’s what I thought! Origins Explained is the place to be to find all the answers to your questions, from mysterious events and unsolved mysteries to everything there is to know about the world and its amazing animals!

Amazing Underwater Marine Life

05:09
Amazing Underwater Marine Life Enjoy this relaxing underwater video from the philippines. Most of the time the ocean appears to be blue because this is the color our eyes see. But the ocean can be many other colors depending upon particles in the water, the depth of the water, and the amount of skylight. The colors we see depend upon the reflection of the visible wavelengths of light to our eyes. Wavelengths of light pass through matter differently depending on the material's composition. Blue wavelengths are transmitted to greater depths of the ocean, while red wavelengths are absorbed quickly. Water molecules scatter blue wavelengths by absorbing the light waves, and then rapidly reemitting the light waves in different directions. That is why there are mostly blue wavelengths that are reflected back to our eyes. Sometimes oceans look green. This may be because there is an abundance of plant life or sediment from rivers that flow into the ocean. The blue light is absorbed more and the yellow pigments from plants mix with the blue light waves to produce the color green. Sometimes parts of the oceans will look milky brown after a storm passes. This is because winds and currents associated with the storm churn up sand and sediment from the rivers that lead into the oceans. The ocean may also reflect the blue sky. However this is prominent only at relatively low angles and when the water is smooth. Apart from the blue ocean color the most interesting thing in the ocean are the marine animals living in this habitat. Also their color is without light that bright as we see it in underwater photographs or underwater DVD Videos. This film was filmed with dive lights mounted on a underwater video camera and shows spectacular colors of the ocean inhabitants the graceful marine creatures.

✓Amazing Sea Creature Captured by Deep Sea Underwater Camera!!!!

06:29
Bizarre sea creature captured by deep sea underwater camera!! This video is not from the Deep Web. But this is amazing capture don't you think !!! A fascinating sea creature captured by underwater cameras during deep-sea drilling reportedly near Brazil has evoked wild debate on the web. The most popular assumption so far is that the animal is a unique deep-sea jellyfish. At first glance, the so-called “Cascade Creature” looks like a piece of a dirty mold-covered plastic bag drifting by the camera. It moves so swiftly that the operator cannot properly follow it into the depths of the water. But then it returns and poses right in front of the camera for several minutes, exposing its strikingly unusual body from every side. Brown in color, the creature is as flexible as an octopus though it does not possess protruding tentacles. Still it can boast white pendulous tubes. Hindi |10 Amazing Transparent Animals In Hindi | JustGyan

There are many Transparent creatures/animals present in our earth, some are partially transparent and some are fully transparent. In this video, I will be talking about 10 amazing transparent creatures/animals in Hindi. Please subscribe to my channel JustGyan ►https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLVe2bI0WzTc1lzxE7A3w0g?sub_confirmation=1 Also like my Facebook page► https://www.facebook.com/justgyan1994/ In facebook page, I regularly upload something interesting everyday. ► हिन्दी Hindi | Amazing Animals Abilities https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QQqmKyCQg4&t ► 5 Deadliest Insects On Earth | Hindi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brvMrdHm8S4 1► Mnemiopsis leidyi, the warty comb jelly or sea walnut, is a species of tentaculate ctenophore (comb jelly), originally native to the western Atlantic coastal waters. Three species have been named in the genus Mnemiopsis, but they are now believed to be different ecological forms of a single species M. leidyi by most zoologists. 2► Census of Marine Life researchers discovered this unusual transparent sea cucumber (Enypniastes sp.) in the Gulf of Mexico at 2,750 meters depth. It creeps forward on its tentacles pretty slowly, at around 2 centimeters per minute, while sweeping detritus-rich sediment into its mouth. 3► Greta oto is a species of brush-footed butterfly and member of the subfamily Danainae, tribe Ithomiini, and subtribe Godyridina. It is known by the common name glasswing butterfly for its unique transparent wings. While its wings look delicate, the butterfly is able to carry up to 40 times its own weight. 4► This transparent fish is a juvenile Surgeonfish. They're found in a wide range of waters including those around New Zealand. Believe it or not, it's the same species of fish as Dory from Finding Nemo/Dory! They can grow up to 30 cm (12 inches) long and are popular aquarium fish. 5► The European eel is a critically endangered species. Since the 1970s, the numbers of eels reaching Europe is thought to have declined by around 90% (possibly even 98%). Contributing factors include overfishing, parasites such as Anguillicola crassus, barriers to migration such as hydroelectric dams, and natural changes in the North Atlantic oscillation, Gulf Stream, and North Atlantic drift. 6► Vitreledonella richardi, also known as the glass octopus, is an incirrate octopus. It is the sole representative of the genus Vitreledonella and of the family Vitreledonellidae.Vitreledonella is a transparent, gelatinous, and almost colorless meso- to bathypelagic octopod found worldwide in tropical and subtropical seas with a mantle length (ML) up to 11 cm and a total length up to 45 cm in adults.. 7► The glass frogs are frogs of the amphibian family Centrolenidae (order Anura). While the general background coloration of most glass frogs is primarily lime green, the abdominal skin of some members of this family is transparent. The internal viscera, including the heart, liver, and gastrointestinal tract, are visible through the skin, hence the common name is given as glass frog. 8► Kryptopterus vitreolus, known in the aquarium trade traditionally as the glass catfish and also as the ghost catfish or phantom catfish, is a small species of Asian glass catfish. It is commonly seen in the freshwater aquarium trade, but its taxonomy is confusing and was only fully resolved in 2013. 9► A salp (plural salps), salpa (plural salpae or salpas), is a barrel-shaped, planktonic tunicate. It moves by contracting, thus pumping water through its gelatinous body. Salp jet propulsion is one of the most efficient in the animal kingdom. The salp strains the pumped water through its internal feeding filters, feeding on phytoplankton. 10► The family Cranchiidae comprises the approximately 60 species of glass squid, also known as cockatoo squid, cranchiid, cranch squid, or bathyscaphoid squid. Cranchiid squid occur in surface and midwater depths of open oceans around the world.
