Migration from Non-Container to PDB database-PART I- Oracle 12C Administration

09:30
Non-Container Name =NCDB convert to PDB-NCDB Container DB Name=CDB =========================== Steps for Conversion. Step 1. Cleanly Shutdown the Non-CDB Database Instance. ==- set environment to NCDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- Shutdown immediate Step 2. Once You Have Cleanly Shutdown the Database, Start Up the database in Mount Exclusive Mode and Open the Database in Read-Only Mode. ==- set environment to NCDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- startup mount exclusive ==- alter database open read only; Step 3. Generate a Pluggable Database Manifest File from the Non-Container Database. ==- set environment to NCDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- exec dbms_pdb.describe (pdb_descr_file=-'E:\app\oracle\manifest\NCDB_manifest_file.xml'); Step 4. Shutdown the NON-CDB file Once Step 3 Completes Successfully. ==- Set environment to NCDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- shutdown immediate Step 5. Start the CDB (CDB) if it’s Not Already Up and Check the Compatibility with CDB. ==- set environment to CDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- startup (If not up) ==- Run below at SQL prompt. SET SERVEROUTPUT ON; DECLARE Compatible CONSTANT VARCHAR2(3) :=CASE DBMS_PDB.CHECK_PLUG_COMPATIBILITY (pdb_descr_file =- 'E:\app\oracle\manifest\NCDB_manifest_file.xml') WHEN TRUE THEN 'YES' ELSE 'NO' END; BEGIN DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(compatible); END; / Step 6. Once it Completes Successfully, Query PDB_PLUG_IN_VIOLATIONS View from CDB Database for Any Errors. ==- set environment to CDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- select name, cause, type, message, status from PDB_PLUG_IN_VIOLATIONS where name='NCDB'; Note: "There should be no violations reported. If there are any, you need to fix it before proceeding". Step 7. Connect to the CDB Where Database has to be Plugged in Using the Noncdb Manifest File and Plug the PDDB12C Database. ==- set environment to CDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- CREATE PLUGGABLE DATABASE NCDB USING 'E:\app\oracle\manifest\NCDB_manifest_file.xml' COPY FILE_NAME_CONVERT = ('E:\APP\ORACLE\ORADATA\NCDB\', 'E:\app\oracle\oradata\CDB1\'); Note: "Below options are supported and you can chose one based on the env" 1) COPY: The datafiles of noncdb remains intact and it is copied to create PDBs at new locations and keep original datafiles intact at the original location. (This would mean that a noncdb database would still be operational after the creation of a PDB). 2) MOVE: The datafiles of noncdb are moved to a new location to create a PDB. In this case, noncdb database would not be available after a PDB is created. NOCOPY: The datafiles of noncdb are used to create a PDB2 and it uses same existing location. In this case, a noncdb database would not be available after a PDB is created. You can use FILE_NAME_CONVERT parameter to specify the new location of the datafiles while using COPY or MOVE option. Step 8. Once Step 7 Completes Successfully, Switch to the PDB Container and Run the "$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/noncdb_to_pdb.sql". ==- set environment to CDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- alter session set container=NCDB ==- @$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/noncdb_to_pdb.sql Step 9. Startup the PDB and Check the Open Mode. ==- set environment to CDB ==- sqlplus / as sysdba ==- ALTER PLUGGABLE DATABASE OPEN; ==-SELECT name, open_mode FROM v$pdbs;

This tutorial series is part of SQL expert exam certification training. if you are preparing for SQL certification you can use my tutorials. This SQL Tutorial is a part of free training. Copy Cloud referral link || Use this link to join copy cloud and get 20GB of free storage https://copy.com?r=j7eYO7 Link for SQL function introduction Video 10 http://youtu.be/5rx8Q4x4-qI Link SQL concat Article http://www.rebellionrider.com/SQL-concat-function.htm Contacts E-Mail [email protected] Twitter https://twitter.com/rebellionrider Instagram http://instagram.com/rebellionrider Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/imthebhardwaj Linkedin. in.linkedin.com/in/mannbhardwaj/ Thanks for linking, commenting, sharing and watching more of our videos This is Manish from RebellionRider.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SQL Concat () function is a Character manipulation function which is a category of SQL character function. We have already discussed the intro of SQL character function in Video 10. You can find link of this video in description below. Ok let's go ahead. SQL Concat () function concatenates two separate character string into one character string. Let's see the syntax Concat (string_1 , String_2) Note here that SQL Concat function takes only two arguments at a time. This SQL Concat function will return string_1 concatenated with string_2. This also means that it will return a single string which is a combined string of parameter String_1 and String_2. Both the parameters of SQL Concat function String_1 and string_2 can be of any data-type. You can even specify the columns of the table here. SQL Concat function is equivalent to the concatenation operator (||). SQL concatenation operator is represented by double solid vertical bars or we can say double pipe signs. Question: How to concatenate more than two strings as SQL Concat that can have only 2 parameters and what is the difference between SQL Concat Function and SQL concatenation operator? The one answer for the second Question What is the Difference between SQL Concat Function and SQL concatenation operator? Is While SQL Concat function takes only two parameters, The Concat operator can be repeated as often as is necessary. Meaning, by the help of SQL Concat operator you can combine as many strings as you want. And Concatenation operator is also not supported by several databases such as SQL server so this might cause problem. To answer the first question How to concatenate more than two strings as SQL Concat that can have only 2 parameters? We will have to jump over SQL developer. Let's see some examples. Say we want to retrieve the full name of an employee from Employees table. Let's try it using SQL Concat function. SELECT Concat (first_name, last_name) AS "Full Name" FROM employees; Here in this query we use two column names - first_name and last_name as arguments of our Concat function Execute. As you can see here, we get full name of our employee but there is no space in between first name and last name. We will see how to format this string using SQL Concat function in a few seconds But before that, let's see how to do the same task using SQL concatenation operator. SELECT first_name ||last_name AS "Full name" FROM employees; As you can see this query also produces the same result. Now we will see how to format full name of employees First we will do this using SQL concatenation Operator. SELECT first_name||' '||last_name AS "Full name" FROM employees; Now you can see we get space between first name and last name of the employee. Again, let's do it using SQL Concat function. Here we will see the nested function concept where we will be using nested Concat function to achieve this formatted string. SELECT Concat (Concat (first_name, ' '), last_name) FROM employees; Inner Concat function has two parameters. These are our first column name first_name and an empty string which will be a space between first name and second name. This Concat will now return a string which is the first name with space. This returning string will be the first input of our Outer Concat and column last_name will be the second input. All together this will give us the desired output. As you can see this method is complex than the first one where we use SQL concatenation operator.

OWASP AppSec 2010: Owning Oracle: Sessions and Credentials 2/3

14:58
Clip 2/3 Speakers: Wendel G. Henrique and Steve Ocepek, Trustwave In a world of free, ever-present encryption libraries, many penetration testers still find a lot of great stuff on the wire. Database traffic is a common favorite, and with good reason: when the data includes PAN, Track, and CVV, it makes you stop and wonder why this stuff isn't encrypted across the board. However, despite this weakness, we still need someone to issue queries before we see the data. Or maybe not... after all, it's just plaintext. Wendel G. Henrique and Steve Ocepek of Trustwave's SpiderLabs division offer a closer look at the world's most popular relational database: Oracle. Through a combination of downgrade attacks and session take-over exploits, this talk introduces a unique approach to database account hijacking. Using a new tool, thicknet, the team will demonstrate how deadly injection and downgrade attacks can be to database security. The Oracle TNS/Net8 protocol was studied extensively during presentation for this talk. Very little public knowledge of this protocol exists today, and much of the data gained is, as far as we know, new to Oracle outsiders. Also, during the presentation we will be offering to attendants: - Knowledge about man-in-the-middle and downgrade attacks, especially the area of data injection. - A better understanding of the network protocol used by Oracle. - The ability to audit databases against this type of attack vector. I- deas for how to prevent this type of attack, and an understanding of the value of encryption and digital signature technologies. - Understanding of methodologies used to reverse-engineer undocumented protocols. SQLPLUS: LineSize & PageSize

03:49
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to set linesize and pagesize . PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) is Oracle Corporation's procedural extension for SQL and the Oracle relational database. PL/SQL is available in Oracle Database (since version 7), TimesTen in-memory database (since version 11.2.1), and IBM DB2 (since version 9.7).[1] Oracle Corporation usually extends PL/SQL functionality with each successive release of the Oracle Database. PL/SQL includes procedural language elements such as conditions and loops. It allows declaration of constants and variables, procedures and functions, types and variables of those types, and triggers. It can handle exceptions (runtime errors). Arrays are supported involving the use of PL/SQL collections. Implementations from version 8 of Oracle Database onwards have included features associated with object-orientation. One can create PL/SQL units such as procedures, functions, packages, types, and triggers, which are stored in the database for reuse by applications that use any of the Oracle Database programmatic interfaces. PL/SQL works analogously to the embedded procedural languages associated with other relational databases. For example, Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server have Transact-SQL, PostgreSQL has PL/pgSQL (which emulates PL/SQL to an extent), and IBM DB2 includes SQL Procedural Language,[2] which conforms to the ISO SQL’s SQL/PSM standard. The designers of PL/SQL modeled its syntax on that of Ada. Both Ada and PL/SQL have Pascal as a common ancestor, and so PL/SQL also resembles Pascal in several aspects. However, the structure of a PL/SQL package does not resemble the basic Object Pascal program structure as implemented by a Borland Delphi or Free Pascal unit. Programmers can define public and private global data-types, constants and static variables in a PL/SQL package.[3] PL/SQL also allows for the definition of classes and instantiating these as objects in PL/SQL code. This resembles usage in object-oriented programming languages like Object Pascal, C++ and Java. PL/SQL refers to a class as an "Abstract Data Type" (ADT) or "User Defined Type" (UDT), and defines it as an Oracle SQL data-type as opposed to a PL/SQL user-defined type, allowing its use in both the Oracle SQL Engine and the Oracle PL/SQL engine. The constructor and methods of an Abstract Data Type are written in PL/SQL. The resulting Abstract Data Type can operate as an object class in PL/SQL. Such objects can also persist as column values in Oracle database tables. PL/SQL is fundamentally distinct from Transact-SQL, despite superficial similarities. Porting code from one to the other usually involves non-trivial work, not only due to the differences in the feature sets of the two languages,[4] but also due to the very significant differences in the way Oracle and SQL Server deal with concurrency and locking. There are software tools available that claim to facilitate porting including Oracle Translation Scratch Editor,[5] CEITON MSSQL/Oracle Compiler [6] and SwisSQL.[7] The StepSqlite product is a PL/SQL compiler for the popular small database SQLite. PL/SQL Program Unit A PL/SQL program unit is one of the following: PL/SQL anonymous block, procedure, function, package specification, package body, trigger, type specification, type body, library. Program units are the PL/SQL source code that is compiled, developed and ultimately executed on the database. The basic unit of a PL/SQL source program is the block, which groups together related declarations and statements. A PL/SQL block is defined by the keywords DECLARE, BEGIN, EXCEPTION, and END. These keywords divide the block into a declarative part, an executable part, and an exception-handling part. The declaration section is optional and may be used to define and initialize constants and variables. If a variable is not initialized then it defaults to NULL value. The optional exception-handling part is used to handle run time errors. Only the executable part is required. A block can have a label. Package Packages are groups of conceptually linked functions, procedures, variables, PL/SQL table and record TYPE statements, constants, cursors etc. The use of packages promotes re-use of code. Packages are composed of the package specification and an optional package body. The specification is the interface to the application; it declares the types, variables, constants, exceptions, cursors, and subprograms available. The body fully defines cursors and subprograms, and so implements the specification. Two advantages of packages are: Modular approach, encapsulation/hiding of business logic, security, performance improvement, re-usability. They support object-oriented programming features like function overloading and encapsulation. Using package variables one can declare session level (scoped) variables, since variables declared in the package specification have a session scope.

Notice that, we have set defaults for all the parameters, and in the "WHERE" clause we are checking if the respective parameter IS NULL. Create Proc spSearchEmployees @Name nvarchar(50) = NULL, @Email nvarchar(50) = NULL, @Age int = NULL, @Gender nvarchar(50) = NULL as Begin Select * from tblEmployee where (Name = @Name OR @Name IS NULL) AND (Email = @Email OR @Email IS NULL) AND (Age = @Age OR @Age IS NULL) AND (Gender = @Gender OR @Gender IS NULL) End Testing the stored procedure 1. Execute spSearchEmployees - This command will return all the rows 2. Execute spSearchEmployees @Gender = 'Male' - Retruns only Male employees 3. Execute spSearchEmployees @Gender = 'Male', @Age = 29 - Retruns Male employees whose age is 29

BluePrism - Environment & Session Variables || Reality & Useful

35:23
Hi Friends, Let's come into the development/implementation part. Environment variables We have two types of environment variables, mean we can declare process level and business level in System Manager. See here, You saw this, I created one environment variable in Business level but I can see under process also. Then why the tool differentiated under process and business object? It's a categorizing the variables that's it. we will access the created environment variable in process Here is my process, let's access the varible into internal data item. I Created the local data item. to access the environment variable configure the local data item. We have the Expose option in data item, open it and see 'Environment - Read the corresponding Environment variable from System Manager' But I didn't find my 'hello' variable. Let's close and reopen it. See I got it and select the env variable name from the list. But how can I see value for that environment variable. Let's do it. 1. I created another local variable and using calculation stage copying the value from configured data item to local variable. Can we edit the environment variable value? Try that once. See, before executing the bot while reset, I am getting error message open and see that what is the message 'Cannot store data in an environment variable' even If you run it won't work. See that I got the internal exception. Environment variables are final variables, once you declare the varible only you can change the value in System Manager and cannot be possible through process/Business Object. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's create/open another process or business object and see can we able to access the same environment variable or not? See I got the environment variable and it's value in newly created process. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Now we will see about Session Varible. let's revert the code of existing process as I will concatenate the environment variable value to local variable and storing the result into local variable. Let's run and check it. I got the concatenated value. If we run through control room can we see these value? Let's publish our process and run it from control room. process started and finished. Where we can see the session variables. There is a link to see session variables 'Show Session Variables' I enabled, let's run and check it Started and finished, but we cannot see the data item value. Because we didn't configured the data item to show in session variables list. For this, we need to expose the local data item to show in session variables list. Open the process and open the data item and choose the option called 'Session - Expose the data item to Control Room' Now run and check it once We did the right way to show the data item in session variables list but why can't we see the variable value? To that the process/business object show wait for some to before complete it. Because our process is very small. let's use the wait stage before end Ohh! We don't have wait stage in process, how use the sleep Action in General Business Object. drag the Action stage and choose the values. I choosen the 'Utility - General' and Sleep and passed the how many seconds should wait our process let's run and see it See that while the process is in running mode we can see the configured session variable. After finished the process it's gone. Thank you for watching video
