This film has English-language subtitles available. You can see more of my work on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/darkus.marque ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I made this using my 2011 Dell XPS 15 laptop, with i7 cpu, 8gb RAM, 2gb NVIDIA GeForce GT 540m graphics, 670 gb HHD. In order to keep the 3D rendering times down, I didn't use global illumination or ambient occlusion. I also kept area lights and area shadows to a minimum. The 3D animation took a total of nearly 800 HOURS to render out of Cinema 4D. I created 496 shots, give or take, that are 100% CGI. I think that the first Alien Infinity film had around 100. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please check the end credits for all the different internet resources I used. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So, yeah, I started work on this project in late 2015, but never got into full throttle on it until January 2016. I really did think I'd have it completed by late-summer 2016; and that the film would probably be around 15 minutes long. The thing is: I got ambitious. And then I got in way over my head. But by the time I realised all this it was too late: I was, psychologically, 'all in'; and that's when the ass-kicking commenced! By the time the summer of 2016 arrived I was fed up. It'd been 7 months of constant work/thought/planning. I was fatigued, and in July I just stopped. I couldn't even bring myself to open my software of choice (Cinema 4D) cuz I was that sick of the sight of it. I wasn't sure when I would resume work, or IF. But 10 days later I suddenly opened up Cinema 4D with a renewed sense of momentum. I think I'd just needed a break. The next few months were very productive. I was working so fast. There were times when I was really enjoying it. But the scale of what I was trying to do kept looming over me. And there were many times when I couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I finally finished the main animation by February 2017. Which was an important milestone in the project for me. The rest would be relatively easy. . . . or so I thought. I thought wrong. The post-production was daunting to me. Not just the editing or visual effects, but it was the sound: creating all the foley; putting together a music score (only a small amount I created myself tbh); and then the dreaded voice-acting. I thought this project was never gonna end. This last element was, voice-acting, probably the worst element of the first film, and the one element I really didn't want to have an active role in. Thankfully, a few people had left me comments on Youtube/Google+ offering to do some voice-acting. Obviously, I bit their damn hands off. I had NO idea what kind of voice-work I'd get back, but beggars can't be choosers; and who was I to judge anyway? It wasn't like I was animating a new Pixar film. I was genuinely grateful for any assistance. But, as it turned out, the vocals that I got back were better than I'd hoped for. In fact, one vocal was so much better than the animation it was gonna accompany that, during March 2017, I had to remake the scene and up my game. Also, the voice-acting made my choice for character design look stupid. . . . because it WAS stupid (in hindsight). I learned that, if I ever make Part 3, I'm gonna record the vocals first, before a single frame is animated. One of the downsides, also, to doing the vocals last is that I ran out of time (patience?) in my search for people to do voices. This meant I had to do the one thing I didn't want to do: provide some of the voices myself. The one thing that, for most, ruined the first film was in danger of ruining this one. I was really disappointed, but I felt I had no option. It's late-April 2017 and the film is finally done. I've been looking forward to this being over for so long. It's been a real struggle. So stressful. . . . BUT, I'm glad I'd made it. Many times over the past year or so (in regards to Alien Infinity Continued) I've asked myself "why am I still even doing this?". I still don't really have an answer to that. At least, not one that complies to a logical or tangible rationale. It kinda just comes down to: I have it in me to do it, and need to get it out; and if I can I must. I know that that there is the kind of sentence that will either make complete sense to you or will strike you as hippy, artsy BS. But in a more concrete sense, my main goal with this film is to improve upon the first Alien Infinity film. And I feel I have from a film-making perspective. But as from an audience/objective perspective? I'll have to wait and see.

Watch this amazing **Award-Winning** sci-fi short film called "The Space Between Us" as we find the world choking on pollution, and needing oxygen masks to survive. However, the key to humanity"s survival may be held by a captured sea-creature named "Adam"! For more information, please see the details and links below: We follow Juliette, a cleaning lady in a research institute called Beacon. The world of Beacon is a desolate place where the remainder of the human race is forced to use oxygen masks to survive because of severe air pollution. In their search for finding a new way of living they manage to capture a sea creature, they name Adam that could prove vital in mankind's salvation. The short film explores the theme self-sacrifice in a fast-paced action, sci-fi setting. The main selling point is the VFX done by a crew of 10 students at The Netherlands Film Academy. A solid pipeline was set up which ensured a coherent workflow across various disciplines. Most of the indoor action was shot on an extensive location at a concrete factory. The outdoor scenes were shot with the actors on a green screen set and composited with fully rendered backgrounds. The Netherlands Film Academy first ever high - profile CG creature Adam was a big achievement for the small team. FX was also an integral part of the film as a large chunk of the action takes place underwater. The film has received a lot of positive feedback from audiences during the screening at Eye Film Museum. The film has won four awards at the 2015 edition of the Scifi Film Festival in Australia. https://www.facebook.com/thespacebetweenusnfa http://www.thespacebetweenus2015.com/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4697186/ Credits: Directed by Marc S. Please watch this English-language 3D CGI animated science fiction 9-minute full length movie "Elephants Dream" (code-named Orange, originally titled Machina), the story of two strange characters exploring a capricious and seemingly infinite machine. The elder, Proog, acts as a tour-guide and protector, happily showing off the sights and dangers of the machine to his initially curious but increasingly skeptical protege Emo. As their journey unfolds we discover signs that the machine is not all Proog thinks it is, and his guiding takes on a more desperate aspect. Elephants Dream is a story about communication and fiction, made purposefully open-ended as the world’s first 3D animated “Open movie”. The film is the world’s first open movie, made entirely with open source graphics software such as Blender, and with all production files freely available to use under a Creative Commons license. © 2006, Blender Foundation / Netherlands Media Art Institute / http://elephantsdream.org The movie team: Producer - Ton Roosendaal Ton is the producer of the movie, responsible for planning, overall coordination and “big picture” decisions. He is the original creator of Blender and the chairman of the Blender Foundation. Ton was also the lead software developer for the project. (Amsterdam, Netherlands) Director Bassam Kurdali As the director, Bassam handled the overall scene breakdowns and editing decisions, while also being responsible for overseeing the animation and acting performances. He worked as a character animator on many of the shots, as well as character modeller, and also did the entire rigging and setup for both Proog and Emo. (Syria/US) Art Director Andreas Goralczyk As the art director, Andy guided the general visual look, feel and colour of the movie. While he spent most of his time on concept design, sets, texture painting, lighting and compositing, he also animated most of the typewriter dance, among other shots. (Germany) Lead Artist Matt Ebb Matt’s work was focused on the visual aspects of the movie, working mostly on concept design, sets, texture painting, lighting and compositing, as well as a number of animation shots. Matt was also responsible for creating the title sequence, credits and other 2D design tasks. (Sydney, Australia) Lead Artist Bastian Salmela Basse’s work mainly involved both concept design, sets, and animation. As well as substantial character animation, he also did all the environment animation in the final scenes. Basse’s unique design sense was also responsible for the design and modelling of all the ‘duck’ characters. (Helsinki, Finland) Lead Artist Lee Salvemini Specialising in animation, and lots of it, Lee animated a large proportion of the character animation shots in the movie. He was responsible for most of the ‘physical’ animation, such as manual cloth work and the destruction of the machine, and also some modelling in the switchboard set. (Adelaide, Australia) Technical Director Toni Alatalo Toni handled all technical aspects of the production, from equipment in the studio, to networking and file storage, and writing scripts to manage jobs on the render farm. As well as systems administration, he used Python scripting within Blender for procedurally animating the many hundreds of wires in the switchboard scene, as well as other useful tools. (Oulu, Finland) Music/Sound Designer Jan Morgenstern Jan’s studio Wavemage was founded in 2003 in Lüneburg (Northern Germany), after doing freelance music and sound design for some years. Collaborating from Germany, Jan was responsible for all audio in the movie, from sound effects and foley recording, to post-production, score composition and music production. The audio was produced in 5.1 surround, and the soundtrack is available for download here. (Lüneburg, Germany)

Oh MAN this is a sick movie. It's like they expanded the best story in Heavy Metal into its own movie and this time included DIALOGUE! Yeah... try to watch the original version again now after realizing no one talks during the whole thing! #HeavyMetal #ToonGods Heavy Metal 2000 (also known as Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.² outside North America) is a 2000 Canadian-German direct-to-video adult animated science fiction film produced by Jacques Pettigrew and Michel Lemire, and directed by Michael Coldewey and Lemire. Starring the voices of Michael Ironside, Julie Strain, and Billy Idol, the film is the follow-up to the 1981 animated cult film Heavy Metal, which is based on the fantasy magazine of the same name. The story is based on the graphic novel, The Melting Pot, written by Kevin Eastman, Simon Bisley and Eric Talbot. The film was made by CinéGroupe, a studio based in Montreal, Quebec. Cast: Michael Ironside as Tyler Julie Strain Eastman as Julie; the on-screen character was also based on Strain's likeness Billy Idol as Odin Pierre Kohn as Germain St. Germain Sonja Ball as Kerrie Brady Moffatt as Lambert Rick Jones as Zeek Arthur Holden as Dr. Schechter Heavy Metal 2000 received negative reviews; based on 10 critics, the film currently holds a 10% rating on review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. The film had a video game about the events after Heavy Metal 2000, titled Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K.², in which the player assumes the role of Julie as she fights to save Eden from an evil entity called "GITH". The game is set some time after the film and features cameo appearances of several characters, for example, Julie's sister Kerrie, the pilot Germaine (now married to Kerrie), and a resurrected Tyler. You can see more of my work on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/darkus.marque ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I made this during the course of August 2017. I mainly modelled the set, the character models were sourced for free. I used a quad-core i7 laptop. The total render time, out of Cinema 4D, was approximately 125 hours - this included a lot of global illumination too.

Nova Seed is the best sci-fi animated film you've never heard of. Just released March 24, it's an amazing blend of Max Max, Heavy Metal movie, the art of Moebius and Thundarr the Barbarian. We take a look and talk to the executive producer. Also, Stefano with more peens and the debut of a band named "Beef Dreamship" singing their song "The Ballad of the Millennials".
